I wonder if they get the "Sink Rate" or "Don't Sink" warning? :D

Good that pressure is kept on MAHB. They are trying to sweep things under the carpet.

This sinking issue could potentially be very damaging.

But Kansai airport engineers only can solve airport with 99% taxiways that have soil issues

True that, the balance 1% can be classified 'unprecedented'

All is well :)

The lift door for future "sky bridge" ? Hope the lift door is locked at this floor.. Amazing. It should be sealed at least with good quality partition to avoid accident.

As for the toilet signage, what can we say.. ? Rush work is never a good work..

KLIA2 although is not perfect, but its a big leap from the old LCCT terminals. For as long as the Public Accountant is putting pressure on MAB to rectify the issues, we can have some assurance that these teething problems will be resolved.

I would not mind visiting it again.

Seen this kind of work in low cost housing.. Cardboards in walls, toilet floorings etc.. to buffer up the appearance.

What's the logic behind putting plywood under asphalt?

If MAB really wants to clear the air right now, best that they disclose the findings from Ikram Consulting. On the whole, they gave the green light but there were many findings mentioned in there which wasn't even reported at all.

They seem to be very defensive and admonished Airasia for not using the "proper channels". I think if everything went through the "proper channels", information would be hushed up and swept under the carpet and fixes will be slow to come.

I believe that MAHB should be accountable for all the decisions, right or wrong, that they have taken in the past. We should expect some level of transparency on this matter as it is a matter of public interest.

Transparency is a rare 'species' in Malaysia.....like dodo bird...wait, dodo is now extincted.....

Shocking photos!!!

The lift especially, someone can die if falled from that height if the lift accidentally opens up at that floorless level.

Did building KLIA2 cost MAHB too much?

In July 2007, it was announced that KLIA2 would cost RM1.7 billion. Then it was increased to RM2 billion in March 2009, and the final cost, which has shocked many, turned out to be RM4 billion.
By Michelle Brohier
There has been a lot of buzz since KLIA2 was finally launched and opened on 2 May 2014. Though faced with a tonne of trials and setbacks, the airport is now open to public with an aero-bridge and state-of-the-art facilities and shopping areas.
It’s a snazzy airport to be sure with hotels and all kinds of rail services to get in and out of the terminal. But all that flashy convenience should come with an equally flashy price tag. How much did it cost to build KLIA2 (and can we really afford to have done it)?
The costs that kept mounting
There was a lot of back and forth over cost even before KLIA2 was open, as their initial estimation of building KLIA2 was clearly overshot. In July 2007, it was announced that KLIA2 would cost RM1.7 billion. Then it was increased to RM2 billion in March 2009, and then RM2.5 billion in October 2010. The final cost, which has shocked many, turned out to be RM4 billion with more costs to be expected such as the RM100 million to build an Express Rail Link (ERL) between KLIA and KLIA2. The final cost being more than double the estimation caused quite an uproar, with many demanding to know what had happened along the way.
Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, explained that the higher building cost was due to the changes in the aviation industry. He said KLIA2 was initially designed for 25 million travellers, but was now changed to accommodate 45 million travellers after a forecast by the International Air Transport Association Industry (IATA) showed that there will be a demand for low-cost travel options. This caused the size of the terminal to be expanded, meaning other parts such as the aerobridge and baggage handling system also had to be enlarged.
This has caused popular low-cost airline AirAsia to be hesitant to join KLIA2 as they feared they would be unable to keep their rates low with the new airport. AirAsia believes that they would have to raise their prices and that would affect the market that they have been targeting all this time.
Cracks already showing?

Heard the Latest gossip from klia2 about horror stories in Gate K/L. Few staffs which I not really sure either AirAsia, Malindo , Duty free or AVSEC personnel saw something that supposed not to see.

1) heard the strange sound at gate K8, like a sound of bell, crawling, knocking n etc

2) smell the kemboja flowers

3) got staff been poked by something when they fall asleep

4) saw the "pocong" rolling at gate till few staff ran away

5) saw the old lady

6) staff histeria

Omg, these paranormal activities should be taken seriously and the authority should do something .
