Raj, a few question regarding the hill.

1. Any bulis chasing you away?

2. If any, how long did you managed to be on the hill before being chased away?

3. Where did you park? Did you drive up the hill?

During the MAB days, we used to park before the gate; MAB don't like you to drive up. If you walk up most of the time they don't really bother. But now with the bulis, parking down there will make you more visible as thy will investigate who the owner of the car is. Ah, problem, problem....

Raj,

Great shots !!! :drinks:

When will MAHB shorten/cut those darn trees ?

Pieter, cutting down those trees (oil palm tree) is not an option to MAHB/MAB Agriculture-Horticulture. at that sort of age, each oil palm tree cost no less than RM3000.00 and at the moment it is bearing oil palm fruits = $$$$. prunning (cutting) down the frond (leaves) won't help much as every 5 weeks new frond (leaves) going to grow.

Good catch (and lucky too...) Raj... :clapping:

As others... would like to know the 'secret' too...

BTW guys...

We've two guest spotters from Germany tomorrow (19Feb) for a day in KLIA...

They're currently with our friends down south (SIN) and with Raj C too,..

They'll be in KUL for a day... so if anybody spotting tomorrow,

maybe can provide some assistance to Olaf and Jens

They are flying in with Jetstar in the morning, and would be leaving

back to SIN in the evening...

Olaf can be contacted using this no: +491732828995

Thanks in advance for the Malaysian Hospitality ;)

I'd be there if not for an important meeting that I've to attend..

To add on to that, ideally, once planted, the oil palm trees will be maintained for 25 years before the next replanting phase (trees will start producing crop [fruits] at the age of 3). Prunning is done to the old fronds at the lower part of the trees so it won't contribute to the trees' height being lower. Oil palm is Malaysia's golden crop.

I Shall share my secret with you all...

1. Not even a single Bulis in sight.

3. Yes i drove up the hill. The best is to open the gate, drive in n stop, close the gate, then drive all the way up and park. But make sure one parks somewhere which is not visible from the inner perimeter of the airport road and also the road that leads to obs hill. That way MAB patrolling inside can't see you and also bulis patrolling outside can't see you. Secondly, i would also advice you to stand by the 2nd row of palms tree instead of the first road, reason being (if you remeber capt when i was with you on the hill and we were at the edge we were spotted by the MAB patrolling on the inner road and the next thing Bulis came up the hill and chased us away). So as long as they don't see you and don't see you car i don't see a reason for them to come up. I was there from 7:30 to 11:00.
