Apparently, MH lobbied hard to try to prevent the use of D7 aircraft on domestic flights. They argued D7's license is only for international routes. However, D7 are not operating these KCH flights – its AK under existing flight numbers – D7 are just wet/damp leasing the aircraft to AK. Looks like MH will fight over everything to protect its market.

Nice and Xcellent job KCH spotters for the AK upgrade version using A330...5* for all of you there :good:

Hon Kit your MH B737 belly picture so nice lah.

Have 1 question, did the AK upgrade aircraft A330 using stairs or aerobridge at most of time when she dock at KCH? Judging from last Cikgu photo, it seem using aerobridge gate 9 or 10. If AK using aerobridge, did pax need to pay more?

Dun think KCH has stairs high enough for the A333 - so aerobridge is a must. You have to ask AK and MAHB if airport tax is higher or not!

Last week, I flew in and out of KBR on AK and they used the aerobrige there too. No extra charges to pay on my part, though!

Pretty sad to know the your story Cikgu,KCH fail to maintain international flight in and out from the nice new upgrade airport...

I just wonder why..

  • I personally dont think so Kuching folks and Sarawakian people generally do not go holiday outside Malaysia, but pax load still low...
  • Or Sarawak Tourism for Kuching segment is not attractive enough for foreign visitor?

:)

MMR update...

These two pix where taken on the 9th when one of our Mwinger, Nick.R spotted that the tent covering MMR were being removed that noon and meaning that the repair works is almost done. So, we here actually looking forward to the see the test flight in the coming days but in the end left disappointed when the aircraft left KCH unnoticed on the 14th and due to it, no one here got any pix of the flight back to KUL or SZB :search: ...
