Khaled 2 Report post Posted March 17, 2009 Learned new thing about reverse thrust today.. Before this, I thought that it can only be applied after the front landing gear touch down.. Pilots,which one you all prefer, applied it before or after the front landing gear touch down ?? In order to engage reverse thrust, the reverser sleeves must be opened(a.k.a unlock) first. This can only be done once the main gear has touchdown. Once the reverser sleeves opened, we increase the thrusts on both engines. So we get reverse thrust. Reverser application is only effective at high speed thus the selection must be applied immediately. The nose gear will be flown down to the runway nicely. Normally it happens together. I wasn't the only one getting soaked out there!! Didn't bother to wait for departure.. I left almost immediately. Seems like it is ferrying the top brass of the armed forces but I may be wrong. They have quite a no. 3 or 4 of such VIP aircraft now . Aircraft departed around 1930. back to Subang??
