Wow, No fuel surcharge! :good:

Shame that the first phase of Asean open skies is only limited to flights between capital cities.

+ MH + SQ + JAL, i think the air services are more than the bus services between the two cities.

14 + 7(MH) + 6(SQ) + 1 (JL) =28!!

Just wondering, who has a Lower Cost Base, AirAsia or TigerAirways?

I know down here in Melbourne (or the whole country) that they have the lowest costs(anyone seen their arrivals hall, its basically as low-cost as you get) but was just interested to see in Singapore/Malaysia. I have heard that AirAsia are lower, but not sure, especially after reading this:

Costs have been slashed and Tiger is a frugal operation behind the scenes. Its offices are hardly the most plush, and Davis points to used furniture that he says was bought at bargain prices.

MH has responded...with RM12 fares o/w...but typical of MH, all in fare return is RM606. That's a grand RM486 extra on top of AK's best offer.

For a relatively short flight, the only advantage MH has is really the use of the much nicer main terminal at KUL. But it offers ancient 737sf or the trip.

Imagine how much peanuts & orange juice you can buy for that extra amount...

Busiest in terms of what ? Passengers carried ? Seats offered ? Number of flights available ?

Anyways, the busiest route in Asia in terms of passengers carried probably is between Tokyo/Osaka or Tokyo/Sapporo. And if i'm not mistaken, there are 40+ daily flights between Tokyo and Osaka everyday from JL and NH.

If one wants to avoid the chaotic KUL LCCT, he or she might just fly with 3K (Jetstar). 3K return air fare generally is around RM250 - RM450.

Was looking through the flight schedules and noticed that Jetstar's schedule is as follows

3K 681 0630 (SIN) 0720 (KUL) (except Thu & Sun)

3K 683 0725 (SIN) 0820 (KUL)

3K 687 1930 (SIN) 2020 (KUL)

3K 684 0850 (KUL) 0945 (SIN)

3K 682 2010 (KUL) 2105 (SIN) (except Thu & Sun)

3K 688 2120 (KUL) 2225 (SIN)

Does this mean that the aircraft operating 3K681/682 will remain on the tarmac at KLIA for some 13hours? or could they be planning to fly onwards from KL to another city? Wondering if they would be allowed to say fly from KL onwards to Bangkok or another ASEAN Capital under the Open Skies Agreement?

i just wonder why do they need an hour to turn around the last flight of the day.. arent they suppose to save up time n maximise the aircraft utilisation.. considering easyjet n ryanair only have 20mins turnaround on majority of their flights around europe..
