Congratulations!

Some webhosts offer to get a domain name for you for as low as RM35 annually, and I know a Malaysian server giving 2GB of space and 45GB of monthly BW for RM199 a year. Malaysian hosts are very cheap and from what I heard quality of service is comparable to established international hosts.

Domain should cost approx RM50 per domain

A company associated with Yahoo! Small Business is selling .com domain name for $4.98 per year. For web hosting, a decent 50MB, cheapest one is I saw is $11 per year.

Of course I bought mine much more expensive, didn't find out these new offers till recently. (Domain $9/year, 50MB server $15/yr)

we've got 3 GB to play with , 30 GB of bandwidth ..

That's A LOT! How much you are paying?

Also, with 3GB space, seriously lah, I think you can enable the "photo attachment" feature. Most of us here know how to resize photos to become 100-500KB. I hope! As long as nobody posts a 1MB original EXIF sudah lah!

Thanks for the suggestion. My hosting package already passed 30-day money back guarantee. So will only renew June-2006. And to be honest, I don't need 2Gb space lah, too much, it's not like my website is hosting MP3 or movies, HEHE. Just regular .jpegs.

And RM199 divide by $3.75 is about $53 per year. I'm paying $15 per year for 50MB (even that, only used about 25MB total, been thinking on how to maximise usage)

For domain registration $4.98, go to this link http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains (I hope this is not commercial advertising, just sharing among us lah, HEHE)

These hosts then should suit you, Roszaimy (when you want to change lah - BTW, how's Kerteh? You must know a couple of my friends there).

And oh, since the site does have tons of space, maybe you can implement the 4-Images Gallery system, Gavin ( http://www.4homepages.de/ ). A local example already in use is over at http://www.ktmrailwayfan.com/pics . Users can add comments to pictures.

30GB of bandwidth, for July, how much did we use? Just want to know.

Hmm, depends on which companies they are working. My company itself already have like 1,000 staff in Kerteh and maybe another 500 in KLCC.

Hmm, OneDollarHost looks good, $12 per year, but read the fine print, there is a one-time fee of $39. Also they are charging for Frontpage extension, which IMHO, is quite weird.

The HosPros has good concept, ie: we get to choose the exact space and exact bandwidth we want. When I key in 30MB space + 600MB bandwidth/month, the monthly fee would be about $3/mo. Quite expensive.

Tons of my friends work at all PETRONAS facilities all over and in fact, outside Malaysia - look out for those UTP grads from at least three years back.

$3 per month becomes $36 per year lah. I'm paying $15 per year for the current one. So I'm looking for something <$15, being cheapskate that I am smile.gif

Geocities? Haha, no thanks. Web hosting is very affordable today. Death to them tongue.gif

Hi MalaysianWings forumers,

Hi everyone.I'm Yohan.Mind if I join you guys? I've been interested in aviation for a long time but I didn't have any chances to extend my passion.Ironically I finished my bachelors degree in Computer Science last March(not as Pilot as I always dream off) Current Im working in Cyberjaya as a Software Engineer.

I would like to take this chance to say my special thanks to Gavin,Effendy and all those behind this Aviation Geek forum wink.gif looking forward to join this forum and I'll surely play an active role here.I'm also looking forward in meeting actual pilots here.As I can recall my 2days stay here I've found 2real pilots.I 1st officer and a Caption.hehe.Also looking forward to extend friencship with people from this aviation Industry. If I had a wish, I'd ask to be given a chance to be a pilot. I know I still need to increase my aviation knowledge and Im preparing myself for the time being rolleyes.gif

i'll be hanging around this interesting and informative forum wub.gif (my luv on 1st sight)

cheers

~m.yohan~
