  1. For that kind of money you could get a used C172 instead of some dinky plastic plane.
  2. What's the logic behind putting plywood under asphalt?
  3. Burst? Must be an exaggeration by the passengers
  4. Was browsing WMKK Jeppesen STARS, I wonder would those RNAV-incapable aircraft ever use the arrivals that flies over VKL (DAKUS 1V, GUPTA 1V etc etc...)? The course reversal for ILS approach once passing VKL is pretty interesting I'm guessing KIKAL 3 and LAPIR 3 make a lot more sense.
  5. A couple of firsts already; first arrest, first dead-on-arrival...
  6. Harsh words being exchanged here, with an ad hominem side dish, interesting
  7. Well that's a tried-and-tested SOP for these folks, isn't it? If one could summarise it into a checklist it probably would look like this, 1. Trouble? 2. Deny, downplay the issue. 3. Assume defensive, can't-be-faulted stand 4. Blame others on poor grounds and reasoning 5. Give the problem time to resolve itself (rather, let the issue fall into oblivion over time) 6. Chant 'Endless Possibilities'. Easy checklist to follow there.
  8. 68 stands vs. 0? What's the point of the comparison then?
  9. Always liked Lat. Curly haired guy is really glad that he gets to use the jetway.
  10. I wonder if something like Yotel in Gatwick or Heathrow T4 could really take off here.
  11. Is there any airside transfer between terminals? Any chance of ERL transfer between terminals becoming FOC in the future?
  12. Won't be long before a smarter one blames the inventors of heavier-than-air flying machines.
  13. Another wannabe self-proclaimed aviation expert on a high horse, maybe he'll blame turbulence on maintenance too.
  14. So with the heightened paranoia (or rather, the pressure to keep an acceptable public perception of the 'Polis' and Transport ministry especially by laymen including politicians) will every rejected takeoffs, medical emergency, go-arounds, diversions and missed approaches be a criminal investigation with an element of sabotage? Probably
  15. I know right, his words can definitely backfire on him. Sounds like he's downplaying the incident.
  16. Pretty sure Mr Zao's post was tongue in cheek, sir.
  17. Calling a terminal an airport seems to be de rigeur these days
  18. Judging by MAHB track record I think it's fair to expect teething problems on a mega-scale at the mega-airport*. *Just jumping on the bandwagon of calling anything resembling an airport terminal, an airport.
  19. Malaysia does manufacture lithium batteries. I have come across some lithium-polymer RC battery packs made in Malaysia. Also this page http://www.samsungsdi.com/battery/lithium-ion-battery.jsp says Malaysia is one of the countries their batteries are made in.
  20. Li-ion battery fire burns with tonnes of fume and extremely hard to douse. 200kg means a large scale fire if they did catch fire.
  21. Agree, uniformed personnel be it police, customs, immigration by and large can't string a proper sentence in english and I've always had a tough time trying to understand them.
  22. I hope the ATC recording doesn't get erased 'accidentally' knowing their incompetence.
  23. I think stopping the search in the South China Sea isn't very prudent.
  24. Is there any indication at all that every single square foot of the search area in South China Sea had been covered?
