    I would assume that their immigration will need it for the visa/entry documentation since they are entering the country,  especially for those passport holders that didn’t have the visa on arrival to india

    Yes, and I think this is not widely promoted by MH. However, lately, I notice this option is communicated to J class pax to choose from the menu from Chef on Call.

    J class already have the option even before the covid.. during covid it stop temporarily. Now they just resume the service again

    MH already offered Y class to book meal in advance, i did that for BKK. Not sure for the rest of MH destination

    Indonesia carrier TransNusa set for Malaysian launch

     

    KUALA LUMPUR: TransNusa, an Indonesian airline, is gearing up for its Malaysian launch "very soon" after finally receiving the greenlight to start operating here.

    In an interview with the New Straits Times recently, PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri chief executive officer, group aviation Datuk Bernard Francis said the carrier would kickstart its operations with Airbus A320 aircraft from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The gov and market forces it attracts is steering the airline towards the "value added carrier service" instead of the premium while burdening it with excessive continuous wrongful management decisions years ago results in the airline til today still constricted with limited freedom of choice and incentive.     To add on, the gov even allow new carrier to operate in the already crowded market.

    I think the non-existent fleet planning in MAG in the past decade is beginning to hurt its operational plans. It is a shame that they are not able to mount services due to lack of assets. It would be interesting to see if they opt for a few more A359s to top up their fleet. It would be good because the original lot will see the end of their leases and it is good to have some backup aircraft while deciding what to do with the original leases. It is also good to have a fleet of about 10 aircraft so that services to Japan and Oz/NZ can be permanently scheduled with A359s.

    I would say the non-existent planning for their fleet kinda of save them during covid period.. Now with the travelling is back with 2023/2024 most probably be the peak point especially with China start to open again they better expediate the dellivery of a330neo and a bonus if they can get more a350, of course the funding will be major issue.

    So seems like Focus Malaysia is creating rubbish hype out of nothing.

    I don't think it rubbish, AF-KLM admitted they  “had previously been in contact with Malaysia Airlines’s shareholders”. Basically all this proposal have been rejected by the Gov and the details only being leaked now. Maybe someone not at the same page with Khazanah which preferred AAG proposal. 

    I would prefer if gov let the foreign entity(AF-KLM/JAL/Malindo) to take over MH rather than AAG. Too bad IAG not interested.

    They did order the 789(most probably for their long haul and expansion plan) but then you said its more of a political stunt...  I'm guessing the reasons why they are not proceed with 789 and 339 most probably because of not enough cash and the Gov still have no clue on what to do with MAB

    I think u got it wrong overthere.. they had MOU to buy the 789 earlier which unfortunately already expired. They still have a lease option with ALC for 2 A339.

    MH's own ex-Air Berlin 332s look pitiful...like hardly any effort and zero cents invested in the interior.

     

    For me, the interior is good enough for a medium haul flight.. the important thing they need to make sure the IFE and also wifi working for this aircraft..!!
