  1. Is the A330neo not good enough? Doesn't seem popular Or trade in for 25/30 A320/321neos? Azmin did urge the review of 737Max order... God knows what will become of MH, maybe a merging of Air Asia and MH becomes the premium arm, thus switching to an all Airbus fleet and getting rid of the Max orders. Then there was the study by Airbus to set up a FAL in Negeri Sembilan. All this is just my pipe dream
  2. MH is definitely uncompetitive. Example flight to Perth. Sloppy crew service, poor food, no pillow on a 5 hour 2am flight. Come on This is not Air Asia I don't need Air Asia prices if I fly MH. And for some reason when I select my seat on the website almost all the seats are blocked off only to realise that those seats are unoccupied upon boarding.
  3. 1. Is Malaysia's market in such a way that any full service carrier that tries to operate, will not survive? 2. Was there interference in MAB esp during CM's reign? If CM continued to have full control would MAB be in this current state. "just hire the right people"
  4. Ex PM chips in https://youtu.be/kH5NeLpsTWU
  5. MAB getting 737 later might be a blessing in disguise? (Not having to ground planes)
  6. Could they do another "Proton" sale? sell the 49.9%
  7. Sell MAB? Which airline would be up to take them surely not ETHIAD.
  8. If politics want to play a hand, gov may want to give airbus more incentives to set up the Airbus FAL in Malaysia... Seems far fetched but anything can happen
  9. Azmin: Khazanah urged to revisit Boeing 737 MAX agreement in light of latest crash KUALA LUMPUR: Khazanah Nasional Bhd's top management has been urged to revisit the agreement on Malaysia Airlines Bhd's purchase of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, says Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali. He said the matter should be looked into to ensure the safety of passengers. “Certainly the management of Khazanah should look into the matter urgently. This is to ensure the safety of the airline, which is paramount. “They have to revisit whatever agreement they had in the past,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby on Monday (March 11). The 737 MAX, which was introduced in 2017, is the latest version of Boeing's workhorse narrow-body 737 jet. Boeing and MAS entered into an memorandum of understanding to acquire 16 airplanes – eight 787 Dreamliners and eight 737 MAX aircraft – during former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak's visit to Washington DC two years ago. “This matter must be looked into, I will get an explanation from the management of Khazanah,” Azmin said. 11. PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines Bhds (MAB) Group CEO Captain Izham Ismail today defended the airline against the negative reports surrounding the national carrier, citing its past and recent achievements and insisting the brand is still relevant. In an internal circular addressed to all employees, Izham acknowledged that despite a very challenging 2018, MAB managed to score substantial wins across the board. This included an increase in its customer satisfaction index and achieving solid operational stability last year. Izham also pointed out that a recent audit by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit recorded only four findings this year, compared with 110 in 2017. This, he said, was a remarkable turnaround which the airline should be very proud of. The national carrier, he added, was given the Best Airline in Asia Award by the International Council of Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (Patwa), reputed to be one of the most coveted awards in the travel industry. Who are the outsiders to say that we have not done any good for the country? the circular, which is making its rounds on WhatsApp, read. FMT has since confirmed the authenticity of the circular. Recently, the New Straits Times quoted an aviation analyst as saying MABs days may be numbered and said the carrier ought to be shut down as there was no economic or financial rationale in maintaining it in its current condition. Izham went on to remind MAB employees that they have embarked on a plan in September to remodel the business. He also said that he had briefed Prime Minister and Khazanah chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad on the situation and that the latter acknowledged the challenges faced by the airline. Mahathir, he claimed, stated that Malaysia Airlines is an instrument of policy and that the country needs this national airline. Izham also said that the Malaysia Airlines brand is still very relevant despite what others may say and that the company had data to back its claim. Yes, there are people out there who dont believe that we will pull it off. All I can say is, more than ever, this is the time we need to be united and work towards one goal, giving your best to Malaysia Airlines. - FMT I do hope MAB considers adding pillows back for the MH 126 Perth flight. It's small things like this that can improve customer experience. Maybe it will be added when the 332 is used.
  12. coffee shop for spotters? Maybe Air Asia can set up a drive through Santan airline fast food restaurant there

  15. I'm wondering wondering if there has been a recent attempt to cut costs on certain flights... Or it's just really bad inconsistent service Just flew on MH 125 KUL - PER, 5hr+ flight, noticed some things missing - No pillows, only headphone and blankets. Drinks only served during meal service, no MH peanuts handed out, crew only handed out the brunch which was an option of Nasi Lemak or omelette. I had Nasi Lemak option which was ok. Tasted fine but no anchovy provided, no yogurt only bun and, fruit. My brother next to me had the other option. I won't call it an omelette. Looked like processed food? Looks like egg but was greenish and yellow grey maybe an attempt a fritata? It was bland no sausage, 1 piece looks like a chicken nugget and then some green peas. Crew didn't bother to come out of the back after meal service to hand out cup of water unless you call the crew. It's not like they ran out of water or juice. When I went to the back to use the lavatory, I asked for a cup of orange juice and I was handed one. Is there a new don't care if not requested policy? Service is Malindo level
