yes, itll be easier to travel to US with another direct flights to be offered by VN, moreover if we are granted visa free access in the near future
and VN usually has cheaper fares

it depends on the captain. when i used to work at an airport in london, it is commonly known that pilots smoke in the cockpit while the aircraft is on the tarmac but not while it is in the air.
my friend said that sometimes he has to go landside to smoke and sometimes he could just smoke in the cockpit. when the captain lights up his ciggie in the cockpit, that's the green light i guess ^^

do you think it has something to do with streamlining operation and sales since KA is operating to two other ports in MY?

Mueller's outspokenness is part of his culture so GET OVER IT AND STFU! If you can't adapt to the way other people do business in the globalized age then you're going to get left behind. And stop playing the bloody race card to further your own bloody agenda. If you want national development, do it with a government agency. An airline is first and foremost a business and should be run as such.
And another thing Tan Sri Aziz, your opinion is no longer relevant. You've been away from the airline industry too long & the aviation sector has changed tremendously in the 25 years since you retired. Back then EK was just a kid & Dubai was some out of the way airport better known for its duty free sweepstakes. AirAsia is not even an idea, let alone a fully fledged airline. People still book their flights via travel agents, and long range flights to Europe still have transit stops along the way. It's a whole different ball game today, so what makes you think the things you do back then are relevant & applicable now?
Stay away & let the current generation handle it now.

ok..might spend my weekend in KT just to fly this plane
Any specific dates and flight nos?
yea.. would be great if someone here can share some info on the operational flight nos and dates..

I did get the Flatbed and all the perks onboard except luggage allowance. You need to purchase luggage allowance on your initial booking before using that booking PNR on optiontown upgrade. If you just buy a seat on Y and upgrade...you only get a seat and meal with whatever is onboard....except luggage.
When you get the confirmation of upgrade via optiontown email...go back to your Manage Your Booking, add the luggage needed...to safe on it, or else it's 1 fee for 15kg over the counter...but since your original seat you book include 20kg...then that 20kg follows you with your upgrade ...
thanks for your clarification..i definitely looking forward to optiontown upgrade option email.
cheers
-
Optiontown D7 upgrade...beware!!! If you didn't initial purchase luggage...when you are upgraded...you would have to pay it at the counter during checkin...I was caught of guard once...
well it as not even offered at check in. i took the value pack for my aunt which includes baggage (20kg), a meal and seat selection.. i shall accompany my aunt to check-in and see if the option is offered
-
....As an example, with the new fee structure, passengers of a one-way flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore would have to pay RM45 if they bought 20kg of checked baggage when booking their flight.
If they booked the checked baggage later through Manage My Booking, they would have pay RM52. But if they booked it at the airport counter, they would pay RM355...

Not really a great business idea when your Lion counterpart offer complimentary baggage allowance.
indeed.. given a choice, i would take Malindo anytime..
just bought a one way ticket to MEL for my aunt for RM801 including value pack (with baggage allowance 20kg, a meal (not specified what you are going to have) and seat selection).
does anyone know if D7 still offers the upgrade to premium flat seats option for certain amount of money at check-in? i did not stumble upon any options while purchasing the ticket.
-
anyone received email informing about revised baggage fees?
-
Copenhagen will be the first to get the 615 seats A380, commencing 1st Dec 2015.
anyone here departed from CPH before on mid or long-haul flights? i heard from some crew friends (EK and SQ) that the Danish will practically empty the carts, not a single drop of water/alcohol is left. it is a dreadful route for most FAs. is that the case?
-
How long is the layover? If it's one whole day I feel it's not worth it for normal traveling (well at least for me).
But if you want to have a taste of the 787 then it's a bargain!
or you can head into town for some delicious local food. plenty of restaurants serving halal food nearby ben thanh market.

So far, no plans - only heard that they are doing training and familiarisation on HAN-SGN flights for a few months. Then the B787 and A350 aircraft will be deployed on long haul routes.
thanks for the info. managed to take the advantage of BI's 787s regional flights couple of years ago. let's hope VN will change their mind and deploy these birds to KUL
-
hopefully they will operate their A350 on regional flights to KUL for flight crew familiarisation
-

No room for staff unions as MAS ‘reboot’ takes off in September

Actually Oman air KUL-SIN-KUL timing is really good for day tripper.
a quick search on their website shows RM484 rtn. fare.. (cheapest available Economy Promo fare)
that is a bit too steep to compete with other players with more frequencies plying daily
