  1. I'll be looking forward to this new Air NZ livery! Don't you guys reckon that it's also time for Qantas to introduce a new livery? They introduced the current livery way back in 1984 and that's more than 20 years already! Perhaps they should do it with a touch of the traditional aboriginal art!
  2. Thanks guys for the suggestions! I shall forward your postings to my sisters!
  3. My sisters (yes, plural - 2 of them) plans to fly to Gothenburg, Sweden for 10 days from late July and back to KUL in early August. They are to visit our uncle who is now a Swedish citizen after marrying a Swede. Anyway, can anyone suggest the cheapest airfare in the market to get to Gothenburg from KUL. It appears that the chepest they could find is by KLM via AMS; and this is about RM4K++ per pax on Economy (Return). Would there be any other cheaper alternative? By the way, they don't really mind hopping from one plane to another; but I would imagine that anything more than 3 plane changes would definitely be too tiring!
  4. The nasi lemak for breakfast as part of the Halal Moslem Meal on board Air NZ during the flight from SIN to AKL in June 2005 was brilliant! Prepared in SIN, I would have guessed!
  5. Doesn't TG flies about 3 times weekly from Bangkok to Madrid via Rome?
  6. Thank you sir ... you are so kind ... aaahhhh
  7. Haiya! All these are a total bore Gimme more of 9M-AFC please, please, please, please, please, anyone ...
  8. Not understanding is an understatement ... in my case, and after reading everyone else's comments, I'm now totally and absolutely confused!!!
  9. Ahhhh ... pure bliss again ... thanks a zillion ... this time to you Ignatius
  10. --> QUOTE(Kelvin B @ Feb 6 2006, 08:27 PM) 28437[/snapback] Red Devil coming Pure bliss ... thanx a zillion Kelvin
  11. Guys - Wow ... this is definitely one of the more brilliant sets of shots in a single thread (apart from the A380 series in November 2005, IMHO) that I've viewed here! Keep up the good work guys
  12. Wow Rozhan ... Hapuslah Airmata Mu ... I am now convinced you are older than me dude ...
  13. My response to H (as in Hafizi?) Azmal's original questions ... 1. Worse meal - definitely the alfafa sprout sandwich which QF served onboard flight from MEL to SIN via SYD for refreshment before landing at SIN way back in 1985. I requested for muslim meal and was given a meal that was clearly stated to be suitable for both muslims and hindus ... so vegetarian lah The dude sitting next to me had a juicy looking, albeit non-halal, turkey and ham sandwich The nasi goreng served on KL from KUL to AMS in 2005 was also yuckish and close second (not sure cooked in KUL or CGK). 2. I thought MH always uses plastic utensils ... anyway, all my life, I've flown MH only either domestically, to MES (in 1995), to SIN and to Oz for countless of times. All my other trips especially the ones to Europe were via foreign airliners! Also as mentioned before (a few months ago); my muslim meal from AMS to KUL in April 2005 used a plastic knife but with stainless steel fork and spoon Best omelette (with mushrooms) - muslim meal breakfast on SQ just before arriving MAN from SIN via BOM in 1998. I wonder whether this was prepared in SIN or BOM Best Nasi Lemak (with mild chicken rendang) - muslim meal breakfast on NZ from SIN to AKL in 2005.
  14. It's Rugby bro! Love the game ... have travelled quite a bit to watch some matches I had the opportunity to go to Sydney for the Rugby World Cup Final in 2003 but couldn't do so as it coincided with Aidil Fitri 1424
  15. Absolutely brilliant! 2 out of 3 of my passion rolled into one ... bliss
  16. When I was in Form 2 in 1979, only the 'Mat Square' (a.k.a. Nerds) read about these sort of stuff in the newspapers. Those in the 'mainstream' reads only the exciting news about sports and entertainment news
  17. Your hints about ministers, oppositions and what not was the 'give-away' ... else I haven't got a clue who the Minister of Finance was in 1979 ... I was in boarding school from 1978 to 1982, hence didn't really follow these sort of news unless one was in the debating team ... you only read the back-paged sports news then
  18. Ku Li was in the opposition once what?!?
  19. I was only 14 then, hence do not remember such fiasco, but I do however recall that our MYR was already lower in value as compared to the SGD way back in late 1977 ... maybe KC Sim can comment ... assuming he is much older than just 14 way back in 1979
  20. Why blame AK Fendy? It makes economic sense if you ask me! I totally agree with Walter in questioning MH's profitability vis-a-vis their flights to the Philippines ... just let AK take care of that route and MH should concentrate on more profitable routes such as the UK, Oz and China (am I correct?) ... my 2 sen la
  21. Thanks for the analysis SV 1. I honestly do not recall the interior layout of the aircraft. All I could recall was that it was a work trip (to Pasir Gudang) during World Cup USA '94 and the inflight announcements made during the flight were in Malay, English and Mandarin; and it was definitely a twin-aisled aircraft. It was definitely not a jumbo and since the A300s were retired in 1992 and the A330s only came about in 1995 - then this one's either a DC10 or MD11. So can anyone further identify whether I was on a DC10 or MD11 2. The SQs I took in '96, '97 and '98 were either the A310 or A340 then. Again, it definitely wasn't a jumbo but I did take SQ's B747-200 during a flight from SIN to KUL in 1995. I accompanied my wife for her work trip then. Our flight back to KUL was supposed to be on MH (our KUL to SIN flight was on MH's B737-400) but we changed to an earlier flight, hence the SQ B747
  22. Guys - There were a few flights that I took in the last 12 years which I, for some reason or another, had no memory of the types of aircraft which I boarded. I was wondering if anyone could help identify the types of aircraft ... 1. Flight from the old Subang T1 to Taipei on MH in June or July 1994. The flight stopped in JB and I disembarked! It was a twin-aisled wide-bodied aircraft ... was it an A330 (A300?) or MD11 Anyone ... ?!? 2. Flights from Subang's T2 on SQ to SIN (subsequently to LHR on a B744) return in June 1996, April 1997 and April 1998. These ones I honestly couldn't recall whether they were twin-aisled wide-bodied ones or single-aisle narrow-bodied ones ... anyone?!?
  23. Oh ... ok, thanks Must have missed that one
