  1. A few years ago I did remember reading about a complaint by residents of Sunway about Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah's helicopter landing in some field in Bandar Sunway every morning and evening. As usual no follow up by the press and wonder if it is still going on. On the other hand, my brother lives in Lippo Karawaci outside of Jakarta and there are helipads located around the housing estate for the the use of the residents. The developer has 2 helicopters for the residents to hire at anytime.
  2. I flew with Lion once. It was so uncomfortable plus the flight was delayed and the pax were given the run around, that I just didn't use the return ticket and flew back on GA. Was willing to loose the money than to punish myself again.
  3. The thing that got me excited was the aviation museum. About time!
  4. Now that is a prize worth winning. I did do a delivery flight once as a crew but it wasn't a glamorous delivery of a new aircraft but the return of a leased B737-400 to it's owner in Dublin. Just 2 pilots, 1 engineer and me. The flight consisted of 4 sectors over 2 days, KUL/MAA/DXB/IST/DUB with a night-stop in DXB. It was one of the highlights of my flying career with the bonus of arriving in DUB in time for St. Patrick's Day. If you guys are trying...good luck!
  5. I could be wrong but it was for the Penang Arts Festival or something like that
  6. I understand the plane will not be based in Malaysia but in Jakarta.
  7. he is getting either one....my source wasn't sure
  8. TF is getting himself a Global Challenger ....... wonder if there is anything connection with the sudden interest in the Cseries? hehehe let the speculation begin!
  9. D7 had posted a group of cabin crew in Saudi to do charter flights. This group will be there till after Raya. No idea what are the routes they are operating.
  10. Plus the Emirates lounge is also located on the same wing as C27.
  11. Official welcome by MAB for the A380 will only take place on the 12th of Jan
  12. I bought a return trip with Lion once, the outgoing flight was so delayed and uncomfortable that I bought a GA ticket for my return. I rather loose the money I paid for the 2nd flight than fly with them.
  13. The EK A380 Showers and this of the A380 air to air makes the dugong look very elegant. Heard the bookings for January are in the 80% + seats sold at the moment.
  14. Since Azizul posted that, I have to post this. BTW I was working not a guest. The crew who assisted me on stage, 2 are Malaysian
  15. The following is taken from www.onebag.com/popups/plane-crashes.pdf Appropriate Clothing Ideally, clothing should be flame-resistant, snag-resistant, and weather-appropriate. Fire being an omnipresent concern in any airplane emergency, it’s wise to wear clothing that covers you thoroughly (trousers, long-sleeved shirt), and is reasonably flame-resistant. Synthetic materials, especially in clothing that clings to the skin, are inadvisable (this includes nylon stockings); synthetics melt rather than burn, and can result in your own private napalm-like hell. Wool is a reliable choice, followed by linen and cotton/silk. Choose clothing that is unlikely to get snagged on things as you’re stumbling through the chaotic shambles inside a plane that you’re trying to evacuate. Surviving an emergency landing will be of little solace if you die of exposure an hour or two later. Even a summertime flight from Los Angeles to Europe passes over Arctic ice and snow, where a t-shirt and shorts won’t stand you in very good stead! Be sure to have any outdoor clothing items you might need while taking off and landing close at hand (not in the overhead, unless it’s for mid-journey weather, like that Arctic ice). Wool is again a good option, even providing some insulation while in the water, without getting too waterlogged. Your mobility is an essential aspect of your survival ability. During a bad landing, you must protect your feet and legs, so that you can walk to the exit (through broken glass and who knows what else) and away from the crash site. This is no place for sandals and high heels: wear sturdy lace-up shoes, and keep them on your feet during the “full alert” periods (you’re unlikely to have time to put them on during an emergency).
  16. If you think NAIA terminal 1 is bad, try their domestic terminal, makes our LCCT feel like a 5 star terminal. Had to sit there for 4 hours due to delays and it was boredom to the max. The big statue of The Virgin Mary at the departure gate says it all.......say your prayers because it's gonna be horrible!
  17. My comment was more about the assumptions being made about the "failure" or leadership qualities of individuals.
  18. I downloaded the iPad version of Going Places and same story had different photos which had the crew in the old uniforms. Was this a "mistake" to have the new uniforms go to print before a proper launch?
  19. Wow I'm amazed at how easy it is to hit the keyboard and past judgement on people. Unless you have the privilege of knowing all the facts first hand, it's better to just keep your judgemental comments to yourselves.
