  1. I care BR is an important link when trying to get to the US on a *A carrier. Love their J product too. Well, not so much the A321's but still better than dropping KUL altogether.
  2. It should be you + 1 guest. If it's a third party lounge they should issue two invites with one marked as "guest of (seat no.)" or something to that extent.
  3. No rational person would burn miles for Y tickets.
  4. Only ADL and DRW get 50% off. I guess those are their unpopular destinations in AU.
  5. What airline did he fly? Can't be a direct flight for sure.
  6. Probably due to the lack of slots for Malaysian flights ex HND. Still, NRT is much better than nothing.
  7. The full routing is DXB-CMB-SIN. Nothing new here. I'd say a more "weird" one would be CX's HKG-SIN-CMB as it's less direct, though I'm not sure if it's still operating.
  8. I believe TK doesn't have 5th freedom rights between SIN and CGK, unless something has changed. It's also ending some time in 2015 as CGK will be a non-stop destination.
  9. It's their duty to inform pax. No surprises there. Sadly my cousin has a ticket for PEN-KUL-SIN. They retimed the KUL-SIN sector to 20 mins earlier causing him to misconnect (from 1hr transit to 40 mins) so we had to call them to change the flights. The call center service was HORRIBLE. One agent said they'd never make the connection even if the flight time didn't change and made us pay a change fee. We escalated to the manager who said they can't waive the fee as "changed or not they would have missed their flight". When queried about why the hell would the website let customers book such an impossible connection all he had to say was "we don't handle the website, but you have to go landside and claim your bags before checking in again" - contrary to the information we received before booking this connection that BPs and bags can be tagged all the way to SIN. Still waiting for them to call us back with a more satisfactory answer.
  10. SIN's growth has been rather stagnant lately. If KUL's growth picks up there may be a chance of surpassing the former by the end of the year.
  11. Permissible? Airlines love it when passengers do that. Also, Changi is known to use the FIDS status to hurry passengers to the gate, displaying "Gate Closing" even before boarding has begun.
  12. Pretty much anyone can edit a wiki page. If it's mentioned in wiki but not in any official announcements, I won't get too excited about this.
  13. I'll be thrilled if the ANA return is for real. KUL doesn't have a strong *A presence.
  14. Twinjets are in fact less prone to engine failurehttp://www.boeing.com/boeing/commercial/safety/faq.page#FAQ1 Think of it this way: The more engines you have, the higher your probability of one failing
  15. It's pretty handy for quick frequency checks. I just type in "KUL XXX flights" and voila!
  16. Curious to know how good the loads are on those flights...
  17. Correct. If it did count the lounges would have standing room only
  18. In theory, you get the miles. But there's a chance the miles don't post and when you file a claim they'll pull that "oh you were on an award ticket" nonsense.
  19. That seems very unusual. Perhaps due to the time of the day they didn't serve booze (though I haven't flown CX Y in a long time so I can't say for sure) but soft drinks are definitely loaded. Did they maybe run out of the choice of drink you wanted?
  20. To be fair 2 hours wasn't a lot to begin with, and the 3K counters close 45 mins before STD so even if the train was precisely on time you'd have no time so spare after walking around in KLIA2.
  21. Doesn't take much to be an "aviation analyst" these days
  22. Yes you can. Look for "manage baggage allowance by passenger" (or something like that)
