United A319 lands safely after instruments became offline

Thanks for correction. It should be A320 -
Not lightning strike hole...it is a bullet hole and a slug was found inside the plane. FBI is now investigating whether it was shot in the air or after it landed.

Concert kicked-off last night too...there are clips of it on StarTV, Phoenix and TVB/TVBS with running by-lines showing dial-in # Not only Taiwan...the donation drive/aid is also happening in China too and they're putting aside WW2 grudges. President Hu personally visited Japanese consulate to hear briefing about what they need and bowed his head to special shrine set up for quake victims. China which earlier sent fuel supply, and is now starting to ship food especially rice. Two aircraft carriers + 1 marine carrier are now parked on east coast Japan, and have started flying in supplies to stricken areas. -

The thing about KLIA radiation screening is for show only...anyone flying at high altitude is also exposed to radiation. How can they conclusively say that radiation is from Fukushima plants. And giving iodine tablets is very dangerous, taking it can be fatal for those who're not exposed to radiation. It is not like taking anti-malaria pills. 1st Lady should learn from how other countries (HK, Taiwan, China) respond to the crisis: - 1 week long tv donation charity concerts by singers/entertainers to raise donation for Japan. - setting-up donation lines by phone, at banks, post office, convenient stores, bus/train/MTR stations, supermarkets. -

Pictorial from flight arrivals, parking, handling of passengers for overnight stay until next day's departure to NRT. Yokota is the USAF base on the opposite side of tokyo bay facing NRT. It is in the shadow of Mt Fuji. -

Tsunami at Japan's Sendai Airport & Matsushima Airbase

The 2 weeks operational deadline is for cargo or special charters - this the priority over regular scheduled passenger flights. Sendai is the manufacturing base for semi-conductors, battery core, ICs, semi-solid/solid state materials, nano-materials, chemicals and other precision-engineered components - all vital for laptop, iPhone, iPad and other CEs. Although Chinese factories make/assemble the final product, between 30%-60% of its components come from Japanese suppliers. One can expect shortage/delays in CE products for coming weeks or months because many of these Sendai factories were either partially destroyed or fully collapsed. Therefore, in order for those factories to get online again, they need replacement machinery to be air-freighted via Sendai airport. -

Depends on the high tide and low tide time in your area. If it is low tide as the tsunami arrives - your place is safe. Japanese govt issued warningst to locals to expect a few more waves of tsunami. The aftershocks remain strong, ranging from 6.2 to 6.7. Narita and Haneda closed for take-offs and landings. Unconfirmed reports of runway buckling. Sendai airport closed for 2 weeks. -
