  1. Keeping KUL-SYD closed to competion is a bad move IMHO. As usual the people lose out AGAIN
  2. A rather over dramatic account for an engine failure
  3. London-SIN-SYD would be an interesting route and with pelnetly of high yield traffic.....
  4. Found this on Business Traveller http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_woCmMvstUw&feature=player_embedded I guess it looks far more dramatic that it actually was
  5. The issue is that the drivers and mechanics have often displayed questionable competence
  6. The latest update: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-04-27/air-france-crash-search-finds-black-box-recorder-without-data.html
  7. I recently posted this: http://www.malaysianwings.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=15999&st=0&p=280396&&do=findComment&comment=280396 On the SIN-CGK flights I found the service ok, just another LCC type of operation. Delays - well the ex SIN sector seemed ok but the ex CGK flight was almost always delayed. I was once told the delay was due to the SIN airspace closing but when questioned they couldn’t explain why all the other carriers to SIN were taking off OK. I've already mentioned the seats but they are so bad it’s got me started again. On my last flight I was told no emergency exit or bulkhead seats left however there was 1 seat and the crew took pity on me because I was clearly very squashed and moved me to it.
  8. I've taken a fair few Lion Air flights from SIN-CGK because the tickets were very cheap (and my funds very low). I think my best price was SGD 84 all in which I think is very good. I have to say that the seats must be the most cramped and uncomfortable I've ever experienced. The seat backs seem to be set almost upright and curve slightly forward. The only way to try and get comfortable is to slide a little forward but this isnt really an option because my knees are jammed against the seat in front.
  9. Im sorry to hear that I had a real bad experience back in 2000 on a flight from San Francisco to New Yk via Chicago Midway. After tripple checking that the bags would made the transit they didnt. I'm sure that the airline was the now defunct American Trans Air. At New York the staff had no interest in helping us and only when a crowd of about 20-30 pax started shouting did they listen.
  10. BA38 777 crash land at LHR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPF6acTiqA4
  11. I don't agree with this and AK/D7 should be allowed to compete with MAS and then let the market decide if there is a place for both on them on certain routes.
  12. These are the kind of deals that Malaysia should be getting, especially as it's much cheaper to run an operation in MY,
  13. If I took TF's approach in my field I'd only last a few minutes. I wonder what testing strategy they employed and what their risk mitigation they had etc etc
  14. Not sure its the right thing to do to just blame the vendor.
  15. The web site has the following: Firefly starts a new chapter in its expansion plan with a new hub in Johor Bahru. New routes: Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching. Routes coming soon: Johor Bahru to Jakarta, Surabaya and Bandung. Visit Routes & Schedules for details. New destinations in East Malaysia! Firefly now proudly connects Miri and Sibu to Kuala Lumpur with incredible value through low fares. Visit Routes & Schedules for details.
  16. Just been reading the Air Asia facebook page - seems that their booking infrastrcuture is totally overloaded. This isnt really a surprise because even the minor promotions seem to cause the busy page to appear. I think some serious investment is needed here.
  17. How do you get away with very few clothes and no toiletries?
  18. Flee - I always do especially as I'm rather price sensitive at the moment LOL
