  1. Thanks guys! Really appreciate it. I've started my course yesterday. First stage is the Computer Based Training (CBT). I'll be doing this routine until 22nd of Jan and on the 23rd is the Systems Exam. In two days I've covered the Aircraft General, APU, EIS-EFIS, AUTOFLIGHT and partially on EIS-ECAM. Damn the plane is very advance... The learning curve is steep and my head is spinning...hehe.... I slowly begin to like the plane despite the route and absence of IFE onboard. Most of the stuff are alike just that the name has been changed to reflect different manufacturer. E.g of same thing different name is the autopilot glareshield panel Fokker 50 = Flight Mode Panel (FMP) B737 = Mode Control Panel (MCP) A330 = Flight Control Unit (FCU) I'm yet to learn how to open and close the table. hehe... For info, I'm not the only MW member doing the conversion, Dante the airbus pilot also now doing the B747 course. I also met with Capt Radzi which will be doing his basecheck soon. Stress time of the year yeah capt?
  2. Gav, I heard you need to hear the call for 3x before retarding the thrust for a smooth landing, hihi... MAR, Wow, sounds quite bad! Luckily I'm spending my time at the cockpit.
  3. Thank u everyone for the wishes! Its going to be tough in the next few months. I'm going to have to unlearn the boeing and relearn the airbus way of flying. Just like how I unlearn Windows and relearn MAC, hehehe... Nabiel, Thank u to u too for the pictures! Rozhan, and at the same time I will still doing the KUL-PEN run! Thanks MAR! will do. 9.5 hours? I'm so not use to that.... Ramzan, you mean open table as in airbus table is it?hikhik.... TA, Thanks, I will use your cruising picture with the croc shoes as my inspiration!
  4. Thanks Faizal, I'll definitely miss flying the classic. I've flown on the plane before I even went to kindergarten.
  5. Hahaha...nice to meet you Nabiel. It was indeed a surprise to see you thru the window next to Bay 1. Sayonara Kota Bharu, see you in the future! Your runway should be long by then! Here's the pictures of Nabiel and his friend. Next time tell la if you want to come, then can think of posing style before hand! Hahaha! Behind that tinted windows... Posing sakan! Enjoy!
  6. Sam your triple pic is a killer man!
  7. This is a very sad news to me. Yesterday I first time flew on the ATR. My opinion... Good: -Brand new interior. -My window so clean that I was able to enjoy the scenery despite it was at night. -The smaller engine size allows those sitting next to it to enjoy the scenery as well.(trade of with the main landing gear attached to the fuselage) Bad: -Boarding from behind. -the overhead compartment is the same height with me which is pretty annoying and they look cheap. -The interior white lighting which is irritating to my eyes. I would prefer the old yellowish light. -Landing bounce 3 times(well i include this because lots of my friend complained about the same thing) Good bye Fokker 50. I will miss you....
  8. Izmir, came back for good?hehe... BTW, It's been like that for ages. Just tell them you didn't notice the sign.
  9. Hahaha...thanks but no thanks bro...I'll be tortured upside down soon.
  10. I've not seen it myself but I was told the newest level d 744 sim is the best in terms of graphic.
  11. IMO, whether it is a bus driver or a pilot, both jobs requires high level of attention. Pilot for the approach workload he needs to do after a long idle cruise into a low visibility airport. Bus driver for all the combination of small roads + curving + uphill downhill that he needs to maneuver through out the whole night for 8 hours without autodrive feature. Driving is not easy. All you need is to fall asleep for 5 seconds, and you're out on the news. You guys who drive KUL-KBR-KUL will know what I mean. Both jobs carry people's lives. No value can be put to that. There's no double standard there.
  12. Kenneth, the picture really showed how air travel was back then! The cars and planes, all in different era.
  13. Thanks guys. Ashmil, Don't 'sir' me la bro, hehe... BTW, I've posted some pictures before but not that often.
  14. Took these pictures quite a while ago...
  15. I was told it supposed to portray Air Asia cabin crew in this drama. BTW, a few weeks ago, somebody called me, to rent my uniform for another drama by Grand Brilliance. I didn't give my uniform but still, we're expecting another local drama. Hehe...
  16. I hate the real flightsim for what we have to go through every 6 month. Hehe...btw, you guys should prepare some logistic if you wanna go pangkor. This rainy season might cause some unplanned nightstop. That happened to me last time. It was fun!
  17. They built the other half in 'alam bunian'. That's why you can't see it.
  18. Bank loan you have to pay interest. I think Bank Rakyat provides 50K personal loan. You don't have to take full loan. Cadet 15 years bond is not an issue here. If you want to think of the problem before you get there, then might as well you seat down at home. 200K is not that expensive as compared to other courses like medic. In fact 200K is not expensive at all, so many people buy Civic type R everyday like no body business but when it comes to study...200K seems like a million. Don't worry too much Nabiel. Just study hard because 3 months from now, you cannot study for SPM anymore because the exam is over. Just give yourself a dateline. After SPM study while waiting for cadetship. Once you finish study, if you haven't been called up then go and do private or maybe wait just for another 1 or 2 years.
  19. 2200 meters is very short me think...BTW Malacca to KLIA is just 1 hour away. I'm sure jumbo guys will be happy to operate the joyride sector KUL-MKZ.
  20. By regulation you can fly any single engine aircraft which weigh as per what written in you PPL as P1. By flying club rules normally you have to join as a member first. Then you have to go for a checkride with the club CFI before you can fly their aircraft. This also applicable to CPL holder.
  21. In my opinion, they should utilize Penang for Hajj flights as the demand is not through out the whole year and the load to AOR on daily basis is quite light as well. Unlike Trengganu, whereby the expansion benefits those from the east coast, like Kelantan and Pahang. Otherwise those from KBR need to drive 8 hours to KUL! (8hrs is my average time driving time via Gua Musang )
  22. The requirement is there. If you succeed as a MAS/AK cadet, then just enjoy the ride until you become an airline pilot. If they don't want to train you as a pilot, they wont bother take you into the cadet scheme in the first place. If you join on your own, your SPM result might hunt you when you looking for job, do good in flying school and they might consider you. As for people get angry with you, the regulation stated that one must provide his real name in this forum. Just PM the administrator for name change and join the fun here.
  23. Which aircraft doesn't matter, as long as brand new. We've been and will still be flying in a 'tube' thru the sky. Only cabin design and noise may be different unless they really come up with something like B2 spirit.
