This is the 1st timetable for Malayan Airways , dated May 1947. And then...the not so famous Wearnes Air Services, which had operated 10 years prior to Malayan Airways' formation. I must say that developments surrounding Malaysian aviation has come a long way...just at par with other developing countries during the Golden Age of Aviation. Wow.

About Subang in her heyday
Abdul Mutalib Saifuddin replied to S V Choong's topic in General Aviation
The consturction of SZB, took place when Tun Sardon Jubir took office as Transport Minister. Not sure who mooted the idea tho, but he was vehemently criticized for having the project finished. People seemed to think that the airport project would be a white-elphant project, in which it turned out otherwise. It thrived big time until it prompted PM Mahathir to build the RM9b airport in Sepang. I am not sure, however on the decision of demolishing T1, whether it was done with enough sensibility owing its great historical value to Malaysia's rich aviation history. I stand corrected. -
30th Anniversary of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH653

It happened 11 years before i was born, but it left a lasting, deep impression about that tragedy. There is a fiction titled "Tragedi Empat Disember", which has been used by secondary school students (in selected states) for many years already. -

Hello, May i point out that the destination (SIN) was Paya Lebar Airport. Changi Airport was only opened in July 1981. It is said, too, that it was the main hub for Malayan Airways, further checks needed. M -
Firefly may take MAS jets to expand

So MAS ideally should stop competing itself with AA..so to speak. I wonder, Josh, are the planes leased from someone else or a brand new one? -
Firefly may take MAS jets to expand

Mr Jadivindra if i may step in; the schedule from Boeing website here somehow tells me that the fleet's oldest aircraft is 18 years old. I think it is better for MAS to phase it out to the Desert (as you said). Aged fleets, to me, should not be in service after so long. Like SIA (to some extent Thai)--they have an impressive young fleet age. It would be shameful if Firefly goes from the youngest fleet it can offer to one of the oldest.
