1. More challenging to get right especially without tripod. But will look good if done properly. Do like the challenge sometimes! Thank you! Yes these are from inside they terminal airside. These were taken after security as I used to work airside.
2. Did some night spotting while waiting to pick someone on a late flight from KUL. It's been awhile since I've taken any proper night shots. 9M-AHR wearing the Ejen Ali livery ready for the push back to Johor. My main target of the night. Haven't caught this, the last A320 of the 9M-AGx series, 9M-AGY. AGP, one of our hub aircraft resting after finishing her SBW run. Lima Golf, one of the few remaining classic livery MH aircraft at bay 5. MXG from Lumpur pulling in for the nightstop. And AGC returns as hub aircraft from KUL, nicely on time given that this daily BKI/KUL pairing does't have very good OTP on average.
3. Fantastic coverage, guys! Can't wait to see more.
4. Wait till maybe I achieve some level of seniority then can shoot all I want! On Saturday 23rd June, 9M-MTM operated the first ever intra-Borneo A330 domestic flight between East Malaysia. Now I'm not sure if there were such flights before in the past but this was definitely the first for me. Aircraft came as MH2807 and departed back to BKI as MH2806 with a few hours delay.
5. Second time MH sent one of their leased Air Berlin A332s was on the 4th of June. This time it was 9M-MTU with this KCH sector being its second domestic run after BKI. Toplit afternoon sun. Turnaround was well underway. Ready for push! Sun had disappeared for a moment. Noticeably shorter and stubbier than the -300. The latest upgrade from MH on the 9th of June. A very unique day because KCH had not one but THREE A330-300 flights for Raya. One was a normal upgrade whereas two were extra flights. 9M-MTK operated the first two (afternoon and late evening) with the last one (night) done by 9M-MTO which saw the two A333s parked together side by side at bays 8 and 9 respectively. I only managed to catch the first afternoon one. Weather was being nice with the afternoon sun. Waited a little longer to catch this little one. Cessna again for a warmup.
6. Glad it's no longer daily. That was a bit absurd. I cannot claim that title anymore soon after this hehe
7. Some from May and beginning of June. Scooter Baby Bus arriving in the morning. 9M-AGQ WingsAir back to Pontianak. AirAsia's newest member, 9M-RAA. And MH sent one of their A332, 9M-MTU this time with KCH being its second domestic destination after BKI.
8. Continuing off from my short spotting session in BKI. This time from outdoors. 9M-AJE 9M-AFW Some helis that I can never/rarely get in KCH. 9M-MLR M30-10 And Ketupat.
9. Some shots from March to revive the thread. Dinosaur touching down. AQX rotating off a wet runway 25. Wingsair from Pontianak, now operating only once daily instead of the hyped twice daily when it was first launched. One of the MASkargo workhorses Uniform Alpha pulling up at the cargo bay. And some late morning terminal shots. AHE which was based shortly in KCH hub. AQN from Singapore.
10. Thanks Sam! Can't wait to be back there again. Perhaps another short trip end of this year to really take advantage of your spotting locations.
11. Went for a short visit last week. Just some shots I managed to get in good lighting from the terminal. Lighting is really good in the morning! Afternoon, no chance at all. First time catching a BR A320. The only one with favorable lighting in the evening while waiting for my departure back to KCH.
12. Ahh that is too bad. Looks like I'll just have to stay in the terminal for the time being. But I do plan to go spotting in the evening also.
13. Hello guys. I'll be heading up to Kinabalu this Friday on the first flight from KCH. I will have at least 7 hours to kill before picking up my car rental to town. Any good places for morning spotting in the terminal or even someplace accessible via a Grab car ride?
14. And also some rare cargo action. As I understand, this is the only Malaysian registered 767 and the only one in Raya Airways' fleet that can be fully tracked on FR24. 9M-RXA Boeing 767-223(BDSF)
15. The only GE14 upgrade for this year by 9M-MTL. Very disappointed that AirAsia X pulled out eventually after keeping our hopes up.
16. I've noticed that too. But I asked the info counter about it and they said no such arrival going by AK8672/3 tomorrow. But will still keep a lookout.
17. Is the AirAsia X cancelation confirmed? Heard about it last week but wanted more confirmation. If so, anyone knows why?
18. One can always pray. Website says A333 though. But it's still 3 weeks away so anything can happen.
19. Not yet. But high chance since Tony said the D7 A333 will be deployed when not flying. MH already confirmed sending one A333.
20. Thank you all! Hoping to finally catch some more of D7's A330s this election. Hoping for some upgrades from MH's side too.
21. Time to revive the thread..Here are some of my favorites throughout these few months. Starting off with some fighter action. M45-06 and 07. Southeast Asia's very first A320neo. Still shiny. One of AK's newest member of the A320neo family, 9M-AGV. 9M-AJS which at the time of posting is a KCH hub aircraft with her new paint scheme. 9M-MSE rotating off runway 07. Caught myself a Scooter rotating off 25, shot from the tower. 9M-AGP, despite being one of the 9M-AGx series, this one is an A320ceo. These old dinosaurs are still around. And here's some ATR action.
22. Just realised I forgot to upload content from the A350 route proving flight last year. But better later than never. Part 1 - Arrival I'm used to seeing the A330 coming in for approach. It's quite distinguishable with its high nose attitude and landing gear sticking out with its big trailing edge flaps. Like a duck coming in for landing. This however was quite different. Coming in over the threshold of runway 25. And here's the flare... And touchdown! Reversers were already stowed by the time it rolled past intersection A1. Part 2 - A Closer Look Let's start off with a front on shot. Face to face with the raccoon eyes. Here she is full length, parked at bay 9. MABapron3 Part 3 - The Departure Pushback onto taxiway C. It started to rain heavily during the pushback. Took full length runway departure despite the light load. Those engines are really powerful judging by how high it came across the terminal. Crossing fingers to see another one of these here again soon.
23. Rumor has it that finally one of the A332 will be in service tomorrow doing MH782 to BKK.
24. Had a conversation with one of Maswings senior captain yesterday. According to him, the land is already there. Our CM has told Tony, we (state govt) will give you the land, you go make your LCCT lah. So now I'm wondering who is negotiating with whom.
