  1. Thanks! This is the first for me as well. All this while I only got the B732 or something like that
  2. Look what I've got today! Hope to nab the 747F someday!
  3. I'm not really well versed in aviation procedures for this situation but I read somewhere that pilots do add some extra airspeed on their approach to counter bad weather. Can someone enlighten us?
  4. From a video of the crash, it looked like the pitch angle was quite high. But either way, it was quite difficult to watch. RIP to those on board..
  5. Based on the info from MASKargo website and a heads up from a forum member in the BKI thread, looks like the big jumbo is making its appearance again in KCH. MH8618 2May-8May 8.20AM MH8616 2May-8May 2.40PM MH8620 2May-8May 3.25PM I cannot vouch for the validity of the information but just a heads up. P.S. Does anyone know a good spotting place? I've been to the area to Hibiscus Court and the church and those seem like pretty good places. Anywhere else?
  6. Wow. I know our Kuching thread doesn't get as much activity but when it does, it gets some GOOD activity. Congrats guys
  7. So I had this short spotting trip. Since I was on the way back from the airport and had time to spare so I figured I'd go and check out that spot near the cargo area. It's my first time Anyways I was really unprepared, didn't have my camera with me and all I had was my smartphone So first with a panorama And a Tiger heading to 25 With 9M-MX? following behind Off you go.. Toward the sunset Soon after, the usual tenants of WBGG And another usual tenant with a rather unusual outfit. This is the first time I've seen this livery with my own naked eyes Go Tigers! That is all from my unplanned spotting for today. Hopefully next time I will be better prepared Oh and also wonderful sunset today
  8. anyone noticed the main undercarriage doors are down? why is that?
  9. Frankly, I am rather annoyed that we've suddenly deviated from the main topic of this thread. The main focus is about the plane and the flight itself, not about anything else. Do not get offended easily by what someone might say. I'm sure our member Hon Lin did not mean any trace of racism in his post, just probably the way he phrases it might seem different from the real message he's trying to deliver. Depends on how you view it too, am I right? So yeah, by the way I am really proud that our national carrier has achieved another milestone in its operations. Regardless of whether it's the eighth in the world to fly the A380 or the last in the world to fly it, it is still a milestone for the airline itself. That's what it should be about. Every step of the journey counts.=)
  10. Hey guys, so sorry to go way out of topic here but can you guys give feedback on some HDR pictures I took? I don't think anyone would respond to that thread for quite some time so I'm using this thread to 'get attention'. Really sorry My link
  11. Yes, I did enjoy it. In fact, it was my very first time flying the Lalat Api Sad to know that RBA will be terminating their services to KCH
  12. i cant tell. quite hard to make out what they're saying some pics from my recent trip to KUL empty departure hall corridor... 9M-MMR isn't going anywhere anytime soon ATC tower on a bright morning. or maybe it's just my exposure settings 9M-FFC taking me to KUL
  13. just something to share from the view of the ATC. video does not belong to me
  14. AirAsia flight AK6033 from BKI 05.45PM (if I'm not mistaken) had to go around just now due to severe winds. Looks like AK is not taking chances again
  15. Looks like KCH spotters will be seeing the new MAS 738 with new livery quite often I just spotted two on approach., each a few minutes apart from each other. MXA and MXB i suppose. Arriving from KUL?
  16. Those two are my main choices. For the time being, my plan is to go for the engineering course, that way (i have been informed), my chances of having a career as a pilot is more secured. And yes, i might have made a slight mistake there. It is MFA anad not MAS Academy.
  17. Hi. I'm 17 this year, Form 5 and will be my last year in school. I will be taking my SPM this year and I wish to pursuit a career in aviation after that. I've chosen a career in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. My choices of universities are Nilai UC in KL and MAS Engineering Training Centre. I also wish to go for a course to get a CPL or a PPL. I have chosen MAS Academy and APFT (Asia Pacific Flight Training) for that course. If there is any other universities or colleges that offer the same courses as the above which you think is more preferable or recommendable, please share your opinion. I need a firm target and I must know where to go after secondary school. Thanks in advance.
  18. jahur, a bit oversized la your pics. but image quality has improved. keep it up
