  1. Affirm Capt. No ILS on Runway 28. And no indication so far that they were doing GNSS approach also.
  2. No SF landing is very different. Clear blue sky. Pilot simply forgot how to fly. This one looks like they forgot the rules.
  3. We're just in April and already we have three cases of what appears to be busting MDA on non-precision approaches.
  4. Now double daily only on Friday and Sunday.
  5. Turkish Airlines says will need Boeing 747, Airbus 380, no decision yet Feb 25 (Reuters) - Turkish Airlines will need Boeing 747 and Airbus 380 in the future as it continues to expand its fleet but no management decision on the issue has been taken yet, chairman Hamdi Topcu told a news conference on Wednesday. A senior executive at the airline said in January that it was considering expanding its fleet and was studying a list of Airbus and Boeing models including the A380. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/02/25/thy-planes-idUSL5N0VZ1MV20150225
  6. CDG is not doing badly because they're dumping fares to fill up the plane.

  8. I thought the A330 is capable of jettisoning fuel. Why the need to circle for hours?
  9. Regularly use that case in CRM and HPL discussions.
  10. Can someone please explain how flight crew "stepped on the accelerator"????
  11. I'll record the conversation, then invite the crew to my CRM class.
  12. As an instructor myself I'm beginning to wonder the effectiveness of practices in simulators. Yes all these practices are good and necessary to sharpen the skills. The problem is our mind is such that in a sim environment we expect to see engine failures, stalls, and other various malfunctions, and when we fly often we don't expect such things to happen. And when it does happen, the startled effect kicks in and sometimes humans being humans, the brain is overwhelmed with workload and performance degrades rapidly.
  13. Either that or it's the pilots' deliberate attempt to head left to avoid hitting something. As sad as it is with the current outcome, it could have been far worse if the plane hit something else.
  14. They should learn from Tony. The way they handle this case from the start is just pathetic.
