  1. 100% agree with you Captain. Indeed, to others by asking the pax to say a prayer may show the pilot is not confident to land the plane safely. When there is anything happen to a plane in the mid air, the only hope for the pax is the pilots could bring the plane back to the ground safely. Asking the pax to say a payer instead of reassuring is the last thing the pax want to hear. The pax will feel more vulnerable. Anyway, it is a good lesson learnt about the culture and more importantly, no one is injured.
  2. Will D7 charge the pax for the 'massage chairs' ? On a serious note, it must be a scary and long moment for the pax onboard especially after hearing the pilot's PA. Glad the pilot did a good job in bringing the plane back on ground safely eventually.
  3. OD's A333 has denser seating configure than D7
  4. I would choose a 8 abreast seats A330 over a 9 abreast sears B787 My favourite plane is still B744 with thick padded cushion seats !
  5. On the booking page under passenger, there are options for Adults above 18 years old, Child 2-12 years old and Infant below 2 years old. I don't know since when MAB does not allow passenger 12-18 years onboard ? Another thing is it only has single and return, no multi-way is offered.
  6. From FlightGlobal : Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) say they will close their airspace to Qatari aircraft, after cutting diplomatic ties with the Gulf state which they say is supporting terrorist groups. Continue to read here : https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/middle-east-states-cut-ties-with-qatar-block-airspa-437889/ QR and DOH sure will severely impacted by the actions from the four Middle East nations.
  7. Perhaps a clearance certificate from the doctor showing the pax is in normal state of mental health is needed for boarding the plane in future air travel ?
  8. That was exactly the first thing in my mind too. However when think about it, I believe underground option will be more expensive and cause more disruptions to the operation on the tarmac. It will be interesting to see a super high and long span link bridge !
  9. 3 pax have given out their seats to 3 out the 4 airline staffs, leaving one seat unresolved. Wonder why UA did not put the 4th staff on jump seat ? Is it common for off duty airline staff on jump seat ?
  10. I was on a flight from Grafton (northern NSW) to Sydney last week flying with Regional Express (REX). It was a SAAB 340 and the flight has a scheduled stopover in Lismore, another town in northern NSW. It was three days after cyclone Debbie hit northern part of Queensland and the storm was slowly moving towards south to northern part of NSW. The flight was diverted to Ballina after Lismore airport was closed due to heavy flooding in Lismore. There was low cloud above Ballina and strong wind during the landing. I was thinking the captain would abort the landing but it kept descending. It was the scariest landing I ever have ! And the fact that one of the airline's same aircraft type lost one of its propeller less than two weeks did not help either ! Under this kind of condition I would rather the captain abort the landing and fly to somewhere else.
  11. I think all international flights that stopover in Australia (although there are only a handful of stopover flights in Australia) have to go through the de-boarding, rescreening and reboarding process. For instance, I know all EK flights to / from NZ with stopovers in Australia have to go thru this.
  12. Just to add : the issue I had with their customer service was dragged for many weeks. It was resolved the day after I wrote email to their CEO
  13. I wrote Alan Joyce an email when he was the CEO of Jetstar complaining an customer service issue with JQ. The next day I received an email from the Customer Service and the issue was resolved.
  14. Opportunity to include a link bridge into the package ? Or perhaps a new runway that is long enough to connect the inland and the island ?
  15. While I can generally deal with D7 seats (with the price i pay), the experience is very much depends on the type of pax onboard. I have encountered pax watching their tablets with loud speakers turn on ! Also, without seatback IFE, pax especially those who are travelling in groups tend to talk to each other more frequent. This is fine if they talk softly but to my experience, most of the cases are the opposite.
  16. I believe SYD Airport Link, the operator for the train service between Sydney Central station and SYD airport has agreement with the government that prohibits bus services to / from SYD airport. Besides the train service, pax are only left with options of taxi & airport shuttles (with surcharge) and driving (expensive parking). Despite this, it is said that Airport Link company still fail to meet the targeted pax number.
  17. Congratulations on your achievements !
  18. We have a thread for airlines, now this is for airports you have flown into / from. 19. Interesting. OT : will the link bridge between KLCC twin towers be removed too ?
  20. Now after 20 years of evolution, KLIA will become 'Airport in the concrete jungle ; Concrete jungle in the airport' ?
  21. Now at least there is one aviation related in the 2016 top 10 news 😊
