  1. Wonder how is QR doing on DOH-PEN vv so far ? How's the fare compare to their DOH-KUL vv in general ?
  2. So you can only pack one pair of shoe plus two towels in a plastic bag from Giant supermarket with that baggage allowance ?
  3. Perhaps MH can come up with an innovative buffet style meal ? 😁
  4. As mentioned by many, airlines tend to charge more for O&D tickets originating from their home hubs compared to their transiting tickets. This may partly explain the less competitiveness of MH fares compared to foreign airlines for flights originating from KUL. MH may not be the first choice of many fellow Malaysian in term of the ticket prices but I know at least it is very popular among travelers from Australia to India via KUL. For an airline becomes successful, it needs strong supports from the people of its own country. Many of my Australian & Singaporean friends would choose QF and SQ over other foreign airlines for destinations these airlines serve despite the higher fares. They have faith in the airlines they familiar with. I remember the same happened to MH in the 80s during its glory days. For destinations that MH served back then, the people I knew in Malaysia would pick MH as their first choice and they felt proud flying with MH. Flying with SQ via SIN always seemed as a sub-superior and cheaper option. One of the biggest task of MH management now I think is how to win back the confidence and supports from the fellow Malaysian. I truly hope the day will come back again.
  5. Off topic : can an airline claim compensation for revenue loss if it is proved that there is design flaw by the manufacturer, or the airline has to bear all the revenue loss ?
  6. Perhaps an open air style 'shopping area' or 'pasar malam' something like that, a must-do for foreign visitors to KLIA
  7. So will the spotters need to go thru a big shopping area before reaching the viewing platform (with KLIA2 design in mind) ?
  8. A380 certainly is on the top of my list in term of comfort level. However, when comes to baggage collection at the carousel after the ride with A380, it is another story ....
  9. Never mind the slow climb on the ladder The shots from all the taikos here are superb as always ! I truly enjoy them
  10. So I believe the exit tax is only applicable for pax leaving via air, not for other transport mode such as land or sea ?
  11. I guess he will prefer the one with four engines and one additional deck package that MAB has subscribed for.
  12. The airlines even give away aeroplane models when you ask for it !
  13. Is it because the slow responsiveness of the PTVs hence many are not settled in their seats ?
  14. The ranking is measured based on RATIO of the scheduled international connections to the number of destinations served. KUL is ahead of HKG doesnt mean KUL has more international connections than HKG. It could be because HKG has many destinations in China which are considered as domestic. As for SIN, the ratio should be 100%, no ?
  15. Technically all the commercial flights to / from SIN are international flights, however SIN only ranks 8th. Wonder which airports rank 1st - 7th ?
  16. Heard the paint job was done in China. Could this be the simplified version of Cathay Pacific since China is using simplified Chinese characters ? 😊
  17. The demand on Australia-DPS is there. Perhaps Aussies are more familiar with virgin and Jetstar on these routes. I remember during the startup MEL-DPS was cancelled and postponed due to regulatory approval issue and that caught some media attention too.
  18. As for the connections of GA LHR flights from / to Australia, only MEL is timed well. SYD and PER are not
  19. 9M-MTN went tech on Wednesday while doing MH122 SYD-KUL and it was still at SYD remote apron on Thursday. It seems they still have plenty of spare A330s even with one goes tech
  20. Thanks Jahur for the info. Well I guess in general the remuneration package offered by airlines depends on their reputation and how well they are managed, regardless whether they are full service carriers or LCCs
  21. Pardon my ignorant. What is the difference between working with a premium airline vs LCC for a pilot ? I would imagine it should be similar hence the pay, no ? From a layman perspective, they still need to work in the aluminium tubes (or carbon composite), doing take-offs, landings .....
  22. To generate more income perhaps they can make the test flights as revenue flights as well
  23. SIA did operate A310 in the past too
