  1. Hello Davy!

MNL is actually a great place for spotting. I've been there once. Near the Airport, there's a village (I couldn't recall the name). You can get some pretty exciting actions there. You need a local to guide you there though. As mentioned by others, please be careful. There are a lot of squatters in that area.

    See the red circle:

Besides, it's also worthwhile to visit the Aerospace Museum of the Philippine Air Force. It's pretty new, opened in June 2007.

Just a quick question, is MNL operating under single runway? (but I saw two runways in the pic O.o )

    Cameras disrupt Beijing flights

Flights were disrupted at Beijing's airport because of interference from radio-controlled cameras 14km (9 miles) away, a Chinese investigation says.

Three small cameras fitted on lifts at a building were responsible, China Daily newspaper said on the findings.

"The radio waves severely disturbed normal flight take-off and landings," said Su Qing of the Northern China Air Traffic Management Bureau.

The report did not say when the interference occurred.

Beijing's airport is being expanded ahead of next year's Summer Olympics.

"The radio was using the same frequency channel as the airport radar, therefore, largely dampening the performance," Mr Su told China Daily.

  4. http://www.fireflyz.com.my/ ... this works!

Initially there were wonders about where Firefly Airlines website would be. The website is NOT www.firefly.com.my, www.flyfirefly.com.my, www.flyfirefly.com or www.firefly.com (www.firefly.com.my is under construction, www.flyfirefly.com.my is an empty web-page, www.flyfirefly.com is also a site under construction whilst www.firefly.com is a mobile phone site). Innovatively, Firefly Airlines chose www.fireflyz.com.my as their website (not www.fireflyz.com or www.fireflys.com or www.fireflys.com.my).

Given that most airline tickets are sold online, Firefly Airlines have been criticised for the fact that they chose a brandname for which they don't own the url to (firefly.com is owned by no less than Microsoft and firefly.com.my was taken). The url fireflyz.com.my has also been criticised as the use of a "z" instead of an "s" on the internet, is often understood to mean an underground service is being offered.
