  1. Yes, it is related. When people talk about attack helicopters or any weapon, naturally people talk about political situation and leaders who may give order to deploy them. Fortunately Malaysia has very good ties with china, trade is growing, but it does make some people a bit jittery when china is claiming most of south china sea and looking at the weapons that they are amassing.
  2. For some reasons I am not able to change my seat when online check in. Wondering whether anyone else experience similar problem?
  3. Very similar accident happened years ago in limbang. The plane was dismantled part by part. The story goes that it was bought by a rich Indonesian.
  4. Same view with me actually. I think the US not taking sides now as just hedging bets who will be more useful to them. yea there was a person who claimed to be descendent of sulu kingdom or something and demanded Sabah returned to him. Most people however, including sabahans and philiphinos, think he is mad.
  5. English newspapers actually. The star and nst. I guess Chinese media will be even more vocal in support of china. The Americans are actually sitting on the fence. They acknowledge there are land disputes but don't side either party lest they hurt ties.
  6. In the meantime, it doesn't stop china from pushing their weight around. The size of their economy is huge and growing. No other country in Asia has that much weight. With philiphines island dispute, they stop buying fruits and led to huge export loss. Awhile ago when some Chinese fishermen were arrested after ramming into Japan coastguard, china halted rare earth export to Japan, something necessary for high tech equipment.
  7. The news commentaries in Malaysia are pretty much on china side.
  8. I think the big guys avoid international court if they feel they cant win. For Russia, maybe when neighbors are fighting, you will be on your guard too.
  9. We have our layang layang island. Even built a small navy base there. Hope china won't be too hostile with territory claim. With other territory claims, nations go to international court and respect the decision, but not china. They just refuse to do so. For them might is right.
  10. Maybe they shouldn't build a ditch near the runway. The damage probably would be less.
  11. Very impressive lineup of tenants. I think they will attract people from KLIA too, especially if it;s just rm2.
  12. In my case, it didn't take 15 mins for that to happen. Interestingly only happen when I login with my account. Anyway, hope it will be fixed soon. BTW, I like the multicity booking but it doesn't give me the options of the various fare.
  13. I notice I got the "Passenger type error" when I tried to book using my login profile. Didn't get the error when I book using "guest"
  14. Would have thought people involved in the purchase would be bound by secrecy. The seller, the middleman and the buyer.
  15. National defence mechanism should remain secret. There should be no question about that. You don't want others to know the specifications of your weapon, how many torpedo, missiles you have, the capability of maintenance team, etc and etc. On the other hand, it makes corruption harder to prove. But I think parliament is told of the cost for the purchase.
  16. They flip, and now we wish they flop back to A380. Hope you enjoy the trip anyway..
  17. Does MH have much of a choice? They can't really survive alone. If you can't fight them, join them. At least there is some chance they can make it. Perhaps even grow stronger and be a major player.
  18. The low cost model says prime airport location, short taxiing distance, dedicated runway, etc etc, all for dirt cheap fee if not no fee at all, as the airport costs can be covered by tenants' rental. Air Asia is ruthless when it comes to controlling cost, which is good thing. I feel MAHB and Air Asia can cooperate a bit more, but MAHB must be fair to their other customers as well.
  19. Pre D7 days, it was pretty good. Near full flights each time I flew there. Mostly Japanese and foreigners though.
  20. Or a long long shot will be Emirates persuaded Qantas who then persuaded MH not to send A380 there.
  21. Is CDG service really that popular? A lot of Australians still like MH. Hope they won't cancel A380 to Australia.
  22. One man? Who is that one man? I see it as a collective thing. Mistakes and missed opportunities by many people. If it's just one man, some may even point finger at TF.
  23. Don't know why they still can't make the online miles transfer work. Not everyone can go to kl sentral or have the time to call them.
