  1. That's the way to go... If no-frills airlines, one can choose their food.. Why can't FSC? MH should follow suit..
  2. KLIA Aeropolis.. The project is promising but needs a lot more publicity..
  3. The sad thing is that it will probably be awhile before they refurbish their cabin or come up with new products..
  4. Their stewardess will be called "Vanilla girls" then...
  5. Happy to see MAS moving in the right direction.. From customer's point of view, hope for more products & services improvements, and more destination & frequency..
  6. Looks like some ambitious plan for our neighbour.. The Singapore government unveiled a master plan on Sunday to double capacity at Southeast Asia's busiest airport, build a new waterfront city, move its massive port and relocate a military airbase to free up land for development. The plan announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong follows mounting discontent in one of the world's wealthiest nations over an influx of foreign workers and expatriates blamed for a range of problems - from strained infrastructure to among the highest living costs in Asia. The plan follows mounting discontent in one of the world's wealthiest nations over an influx of foreign workers and expatriates blamed for a range of problems In an annual National Day address, Lee sought to allay those fears, elaborating on a trove of long-term plans that appear intended to counter a growing voter backlash against the People's Action Party (PAP) that has ruled Singapore for more than half a century. These include changes to Singapore's health-care and education systems, and the move of its port - the world's second-busiest hub for container shipping - to a new location in Tuas in western Singapore from 2027. That would free up land in Tanjong Pagar, next to the central business district, for a sprawling new waterfront city, Lee said. He also unveiled plans for a fourth runway at Changi Airport, Southeast Asia's busiest. This will allow the government to move a military airbase in central Singapore to Changi after 2030 and free up 800 hectares (1980 acres) of land for homes, factories and businesses....Read more
  7. Of course, it wasn't written by him personally. It was written by staunch supporters of Anwar Ibrahim.
  8. You are probably right.. The political cronies will stay, at least for awhile more.. We know Badawi has his hands in food catering for MH, I understand on a lopsided contract. Pakatan was supposed to be fighting against this abuses.. But then again, we heard none other than Nurul Izzah was supposed to launch Badawi's book "Awakening". Bedfellow now?? There is no permanent friend or foe in politic.. Just power and money..
  9. There are a couple of heavy industries currently building their factories in SCORE.. How they progress will be important as other investors will be looking.. If they are successful, more will follow suit.. As someone from Sarawak, I'm hoping that it will be successful..
  10. Well.. Time will tell if SCORE will be successful or not... On the other hand, if Malaysians themselves tell everyone how bad and stupid it is to invest in Sarawak, it won't help either..
  11. Sarawak's gameplan is not so much eco-tourism, but industrialization... They are banking on SCORE to achieve that..
  12. There is no need for him to take bus to work or eat at staff canteen... He is paid for strategy and leadership.. So I think MH leadership should be given the free handle how to steer the airline. Yes, Firefly jet too gone.. Now semipremium, semibudget segment is filled by Malindo...
  13. The gov doesn't have to sell share in MH.. They can have as much as they want but just leave the management and leadership to do what needs to be done.
  14. Air Asia is where it is today partly thanks to gov interference, but interference in their favour of course... BTW did Japanese gov interfere with Air Asia Japan?
  15. And how long to pass through immigration and custom.. In some airports, you will probably have to set up camps if a few of those arrive at the same time.
  16. Well.. I'm talking about airport tax, which the person in the article was also referring to.
  17. In a typical flight, there is little contact between FAs and passengers.. They serve food and drinks... Attend to requests sometimes.. For most, we just see them, don't really talk to them.. So the more attractive to the eyes, the better.
  18. The problem with these people is that they want top notch facilities while paying peanuts.. They think they only need to pay peanuts, the world owes them a living. So in way, they are partly responsible for the delay. We can easily build a budget airport/terminal but people make a lot of noise. So KLIA2 became a bit too posh, a bit too high class..
  19. While it spurs others to innovate and improve themselves, competition is only good if it's healthy and sustainable.. It's a fine balance. Once some need to close shop or barely hanging by a thread.. It's not a good thing. Airlines making big money elsewhere can easily afford to make loses in some routes for a period of time to kill of local competitors. A number of routes in Malaysia are getting saturated, so it remains to be seen what will happen, whether this is sustainable or not.
  20. Hmm.. Most tourists come here during the dry season or just before the wet season just because it can rain everyday and some roads not accessible.. Having said that, some of the waterfalls can be dry during the dry season..
  21. Horrible as in limited options..haha... but my experience with Silk Air was not pretty also.. The aircraft was stuffy, maybe their air cond was bad.. They charged premium fare for almost LCC-liked service Not looking forward to transitting in Bali when getting out though yes, I can.. For most people here, Singapore is our gateway out. So if we have Kuala Lumpur as alternative, it will be wonderful even with crampy Sky Interior 737.. Yup..Relocated here this year.. Still climbing the career ladder, so have to move around to "naik pangkat"... The Ghan is one expensive train ride, but maybe worth the experience.. I was deterred by their price.. haha.. My colleagues used to drive and speeding all the way up and down the vertical length of Australia... But if you visit Darwin, PM me..
  22. Would love them flying to Darwin, where I'm currently based.. There are only Silk Air and Jetstar when I want to get out.. Horrible..
  23. I hope this will be a wake up call for MH. Their hardware is substandard.
  24. MAHB imposes RM199,445.40-LAD per day to UEMC-Bina Puri JV, beginning yesterday
