  1. Nice weather and nice shots of Batavia and gang from KCH. Thanks Iggy. Hopefully can drop by one day enroute to BKI.
  2. Sam, your shots and photo editing are fantastic. Very very nice! Hope to see you in BKI one day together with Meor, Ewan and the rest of the gang. Hint Hint. I got some leave. I have yet to fly Air Asia.
  3. September? Possible. Can be arranged. So when will be the best time for CAVOK yet little or no flies at all?
  4. OK thats great since we do B77W runs down south these days. Will work it out but I will try to avoid winter months. Probably in late Oct or Nov when it is CAVOK and I will be there with a request for the rostering department. Cheers!
  5. Nick, nice photos from YSSY. A question though. What is your ISO setting for all the shots above? Cannot quite believe MKII has such number of noise there. Is all the spotting locations easily accessible or you are shooting from airside? If it is easily accessible I may request a trip down under then. Thanks.
  6. KC, Hehehe. Nice shot of Singapore Cargo. But I was referring to 9V-SQC inbound 02L as SQ959 from CGK. It was before a CX B744 on 02L approach. Thanks!
  7. KC, Anything on SQC from yesterday spotting session (30/03/2008) on 02L? Appreciate a copy if you do have one. Thanks.
  8. When you are a cadet, you are expected to live in the worst of conditions. There is no such thing as luxuries of life. That is what cadet life is all about. Look long term. Being a cadet means chance of a lifetime and living out of your comfort zone. No sacrifice no gain.I have served my time already.
  9. We are hiring A330 rated pilots. You send your resume over lah. A lot of Singapore Girls waiting for your arrival leh. Also take note A330 will be doing a lot of Japanese flights. So you can Kawaii with them all the time lah. Mari mari. I not lying. Go buy a copy of Flight International. Start flipping from the back.
  10. Wah, luckily I did not need to do diversion to Batam in rain yesterday when I come back from Bali, Denpasar late morning, early noon. Landed safely Singapore 02C. No overshooting of course, but landing was firm. To avoid sliding off the runway. Full reverse thrust and Autobrake minimum 3. Landing beyong glideslope more than 3600m long. No issues.
  11. I hope they will not do that. Otherwise we will lose a spotting location in Singapore. Already double fencing is bad. Best would be to build a bridge that links 02C to the military site, which is the propsed T4. Then we get one more spotting area. Die die must maintain coastal road.
  12. Another new shopping complex cum foodcourt for Singaporean families.
  13. Sandeep is absolutely right. Sandeep, in case you get the same situation when you come onto 777 in future, there is a checklist for it. Its in the unanounciated checklist section. Non-recall item. OT. Didn't get rostered for PER. As Gibby may notice also, PER rarely appears on my roster even with the company flying in three times a day. I am more of a Europe plus India guy for the past year or so. Occasionally ADL or BNE once in a blue moon.
  14. Currency/Recency can always be accomplished in a Level D approved simulator. Even for initial license type rating. Just that A345 tech crew now will need to do their line checks whilst flying into LAX/EWR vv. Lately SIA has been advertising for positions for Captains with A330 ratings. Signs of preparation is under way. If I am not wrong, A330 will start rolling in fourth quarter this year.
  15. A345 twice daily run to CGK has been pulled out effectively already. Service is reverted back to using a B777 in the morning and a B744 for the evening service.
  16. Who can borrow me ladder when I go PEN for spotting? I serious yah.
  17. Chaity and Andrew, you guys are very lucky to get PANDA. I have been waiting for PANDA to arrive and wait and wait and wait until my neck have become GIRAFFE already liow. And still no PANDA. And when I am out of Singapore, it appears. I see if I can catch PANDA in PANDA homeground next month. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Cornelis, I will be in NRT and HND spotting on the 3rd and 4th April. And you will only arrive NRT on 5th April (my departure day). If you can or plan to alter your plans, can always meet up in NRT. In case you are wondering, I am not on personal holiday. Got a rare two nights in Tokyo by chance. YK and TK, want to do the funky spotting again?
  19. You never spot on Saturday night argh? I doing SQ 198/197 lah that day. Anyway, ICHIBAN brother!!
  20. Kian Hong, very nice pictures and updates from JDK. I love the cockpit shot of LRJ45. Fantastic evening shot of SQM on tarmac as well. Nice weather you got there yah. No such blue sky in WSSS though. Nevertheless caution when the heavies fly past you overhead JDK when you are in circuit area. The wake can be quite bad. Remember not to bust your circuit altitude. What is your sortie number now? Capt. Bosschieter?? He is still there? Anyway I didn't fly with him at all. Just 1 simulator session. He sure has many stories to share. we call him B**LS**TER. Hahaha.....Take care.
  21. Haha. I just finished my one week resting in Hokkaido. Funny I never hear a single bit of thing about the NGO landing in Japan media. Maybe I am too far and remote away. Bring airline to it's knees? I dun think so. Losing ETOPS certification. Almost there already.
  22. SQ376 is operated on a Trent 884 engine. So it has nothing to do with GE this time. And I think nobody would ever be foolish enough to attempt a sabotage of such magnitude. Not in Singapore at least where everything is closely monitored. Furthermore, in engineering, just like flying, there are suppose to be cross checking involved. Oh yeah. I have and always prepared for any emergency. Thats what I am paid for by fellow passengers.
  23. This is the latest news to me. And I just came back to Singapore land early this morning after a 8 day trip to ICN/SFO vv on a 77W. And although nothing happened on my flight, something did happen on the previous sector. SWK was suppose to be doing a SIN-ICN-SFO vv run yesterday morning. However on cruise from SIN-ICN leg, the monitoring systems picked up a message (unkonwn to pilots, only to maintainance personel) that the Debris Monitoring System triggered some alerts. On arrival, the engineers checked the MAT system and everything was fine. As the aircraft is headed to SFO over the wide Pacific Ocean, they decided to checked further and found some debris in the sump from the left engine. As a result, company decided to cycle the aircraft back to SIN instead of SWK heading to SFO. Good decision. Everything was normal on the way back. We passed the debris collected to SIN engineers on arrival. Seems like 77W is having a lot of problems lately.

    A380 in KUL

Hmm.....crabbing in touch and go? Maybe the guys are practising simulated engine shutdown (at idle power of course).
