  1. Thanks guys. MW brothers always a helpful lot. Seems my color is a little off on the Saudi. Sorry folks. Not up to the usual high standards here. Will improve on it. Cheers! OK. Here is the improved version. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Still getting to grips with photo editing using iMac.
  2. Great evening light today. It was golden in fact. Decided to try something new. Really wanted to share EXIF but do not know how. Somehow after processed in Photoshop and saving it under 'Save for Web and Devices', the data all gone. Someone care to teach me? Camera: Nikon, Aeroplane: Boeing 747; Airline: Saudi Arabian; Exposure: Aperture Priority; F 8.0; ISO: 400 Shutter Speed 1/1000; D-Lighting: Normal; Focal Length: 550mm; Metering: Matrix. Noise under shadows??..... Zero....hehe....More to come later tonight.
  3. Hmm, looks like my choices of flights to work base and my hometown will be restricted to SQ services only.
  4. Really pity the workers. Wonder if they are heavily insured. Guess they really went ducking for cover when they see the Garuda coming straight at them. First go around should have strike something in the minds of the crew. Where is the situational awareness I wonder. Is the ILS or PAPA recalibrated for the new displaced threshold?
  5. Bonus?? No comment. Rainy days ahead. Soon all SQ planes will have new livery. All in Silver Bullet style. Further cost reduction. MPB and MPD has led the way.
  6. 2 Class config? Hmm.... All Japan sectors except Narita. NKG, ADL,PER BNE, SGN, HAN. Plus KUL and PEN. Plus a few India turnarounds. Pretty descent COP as crew. Looks like 787 will replace the A330 when it comes.
  7. Time will soon tell if I need to punch in Cost Index 0 during preflight FMC work. Time to tighten belt for staff.
  8. Talk about cutting cost.... I recently attended my fleet meeting last month where the honorary chairman of the company made an appearance as a guest speaker at the open to floor dialogue session. He mentioned that "Yes, we will cut cost wherever possible. But there is only so much cost that a company can cut." Err..... so when exactly is this cost cutting going to stop .... we as crew ponder/wonder.
  9. Other airlines are also doing business. Other airlines are also finding ways to cut costs. But they never give snack boxes. And they are doing very well at it.
  10. SQ also cut cost. But no snack boxes. KUL sector 40 mins wheels up to wheels down, J class also got proper meals with plating. CGK and BKK got choices of hot meals as well. And when pax do not get their choices, they demand ridiculous things as compensation. Hiz, when SQ cut cost, who suffers?? No comment no comment.

    Odd shots

Hehehe....homemade humidifier. I also got the recipe and cook it often. Damn, the office is like a dessert itself. Great shot! MNL ILS still u/s?
  12. Raymond, nice shots. Never go Changi beach spotting since 20 is in use these days. Or feeling brave to try fence side spotting on 02/20C? By the way, your holiday in Singapore is quite long hor? TransAero drivers do not understand English very well actually. SIN delivery spent 5-6 minutes explaining and confirming they have a VJR departure the other day.
  13. That is the antneana for the Boeing Connexion airborne internet services. Please correct me if wrong. Colin, correct boh? Has already been stopped since last year. Wonder why is it still sitting there as additional dead weight. Yuh Loh, you using Bigma 50-500mm? What happened to your 80-400 VR? Great shots guys! Cheers. Might drop by IAH in July.
  14. To fill up the empty seats means a higher Zero Fuel Weight and equals to a higher fuel burnoff. Equals additional operating costs as well (snek boxes and drinks inclusive) although flight within Peninsular is so short in time that it is almost negligible (fuel wise). Interesting to see if MH website crashes in 3 hours from now due to overload traffic.
  15. This is great news! Now I can look forward to my trip to KCH and BKI via KUL during my annual leave. But leaves me wondering how is it viable for long term period in terms of sustaining profitability.
  16. Anyone has a picture of Bunga Telur to share? Have not seen one or has any idea how it looks like. How come the boxes was left as unknown? Shippers details should be on every consignment carried in the cargo hold. Didn't the customs in KLIA or MH loadmaster who checks it before departure knows better? Anyway, security in PER has failed big time since it took 3-4 hours for bomb squad to arrive. Many would have been killed or extensive damage would have been done by the time they arrive if it was for real. But a good rehearsal by all means for anti-terrorism measures. Something to think about ay all airport authorities out there. Thanks to Gibby, kianhong and Sandeep for the 'live' coverage from PER. Guys, still no PER flights. Always a** luck with my roster to get there.
  17. OTOT: I changed from Windows to iMac for photo editing lah.
  18. WOW! Plenty of great shots from my adopted home yeah. Yes, weather has been great recently in SIN. Thanks so much to all who share your photo here. Nothing from me lately. Busy working and also in the transition phase of learning new equipment. Thanks again for the very nice pictures here.
  19. Siti's boyfriend with his amazing nose shots again. Terima Kasih! Got your SMS the other day. Cheers bro! Great stuff. I miss the 1.5 crop factor.
  20. The only reason, and based on fact, is that the B748 is not winning orders at all is because the seat cost per mile/km is substantially higher than the A380. At today's current oil price and the B748 having a lower payload, it is hard for airlines to justify book orders for B748. Trust the bean counters of SQ to get this calculation right. It is not just the novelty of operating the world's first double decker jetplane.
  21. Whilst crossing perimeter fence on SQ 112 SIN-KUL (9V-SVC) I saw someone pointing a DSLR weapon at my nose. Two of them. Please own up with some photos if you are a MW member. Thank you.
  22. Yesterday afternoon while going to work on KUL shuttle I saw ABC Antonov landing 20R. Wonder anyone caught that and if it has left SIN today.
  23. Ramzyn, That's the way man. Go go with Wimberly Head. Sure will not regret. Spotting with it is best! Added your CF 6X series Gitzo tripod already? Otherwise your setup jatuh....then heart pain. Better wallet pain first. Your trinity is 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200 or based on the 17-35, 28-70 and 70-200?
  24. Sad to see that the airport management did not learn from experts in Singapore. T3 opened without any major drama with the exception that a few passengers ended up in T2 on opening day. Really have to take my hats off to the team in Singapore who planned so well in the many days before T3 started operations. All the staff (pilots/cabin crew/ ground staff/engineers/immigration/security/transfer trains) had live sessions with a few real commercial flights operating out of T3 even long before its official opening. The fruits of 'Kiasi' (afraid to die').
