  1. Hi peopz,

after being away for a while, I would like to present you KLM's newest Triple 7 PH-BQO '' Old Rauma ''.

Seen on first commercial flight, KLM427 AMS-DXB. A shame that our Dutch weather wasn't cooperating today

And little extra for you guys, is Hamburg International D-AHIB, now featuring new titles on the fuselage. Don't know if this one was operating on a charter or subchartered for some other airline?! Pieter... can you check it out?

  2. hi Raldi!, and others...

    why not uploading at http://www.planespotters.net

Planespotters.net has been idle for a while, but is now back online with a good team of members behind this website.

The fleetlists are undergoing updates day by day now to get them back in correct manner, and providing good information.

Recently new aircraft fleet lists are added additionally to the common types. Now also CRJ700/900 and Fokker 50/70/100, Ilyushin 96, Arvo's etc. can be found in the fleetlistings. New types to be added soon.

Well, about the upload limit: there is NO upload limit.

And... all pictures are accepted by 100%, BUT if quality is not reaching the High Quality (HQ) status, your pictures will only be approved into your Personal Gallery. So you will be sure that all of your pictures will go online here. (of course if the quality is really crappy we may reconsider our offer and reject the picture in uncommon cases).

At this moment, we only have a few uploaders from S-E Asian region. Most uploads are from Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo at this time, so other regions are still not covered well.

We will happy welcome everybody to planespotters.net, to share your pictures with the world!

    Good luck,

    Eric

  3. Hi people!

    After some longer absence here, trying to bring some updates now more regularly;

On September 12, I managed to do some photography again...

And I got this A310 from Spain, Air Plus Comet, and operating for Martinair!

For Pieter: ( I think it comes from AUA? )

The weather was great again this week after loads of rain in August <_<

    Cheers,

    Eric

  4. Only went outside the building for approximately 1.5-2 hours (left and right part) before it started to pour down again. Temp wasn't too bad (20 degrees), just the amount of rain :( So...no perimeter spotting this time. Did like the general atmosphere of the place: very relaxed people and airport and really liked the smell of the pine trees when outside...the Politi passed 3 times, but never bothered me and were more interested in parking offenders

    AMS-OSL was on OY-MRI, a 737-700 and OSL-AMS was on OY-SEB, a dark-blue 737-800...

Cannot complain about Sterling, especially considering the total fare (incl. taxes) of EUR 65.00; crew was friendly but found the catering/drinks charges quite steep  cockpit information was minimal...

Seat-pitch on the 800 was remarkably better than on the 700; I'm not tall but it was quite cramped on MRI

AB is the way to go, Eric :good: ;)

Yeah! AB is indeed the best so far within Europe. But to comeback on the topic about Sterling.dk; I had a flight on a 'old' old fashioned B737-500, probably causing my negative idea about their 'service'. I don't know about the -800's because my onward flight was on a hired MD-83 of JetX. That was a great ride, but didn't show the real Sterling.

I think Scandinavian countries are very tolerant in many things, also to 'spotters' which may be the reason that they didn't gave you an unpleasant visit. Did the -800 have dropdown screens or not?

Pieter, thanks for the info about my upcoming NRT trip this week. About PH-BFB, is that fitted with the new WBC? I think the other full pax still offer the old C?

    Thanks

    Eric

  5. Pieter,

sorry to see that the weather was no good. August is this year not good at all around Western Europe. To much rain!

Anyway, you've seen some interesting airliners again. Did you spot them from the terminal building only or did you went also to a remote spot around the perimeter? I can imagine you didn't with all these water falling down the sky :)

How do you think about Sterling? You know my opinion about them. Did they do better on the -700 and -800?

    Eric

  6. Hi

just to inform you about a reported crash in Pakistan, near the city of Multan.

Flight PK688 was to be operated by a Fokker F-27 aircraft.

The flight was heading for Lahore and Islamabad.

Pakistan officials have said 'no survivors'.

RIP and another 'bad' day for aviation.

And for the Fokker-lovers. Another one left the skies :sorry:

    Bye

    Eric

  7. nice photo, a lot of the airlines fly A320 right now eh

Lionel, AMS is still a large B737 airport (hence the fleets of KLM, Transavia and many other visitors)

Although, the A320 is widely spread in service among European carriers. AZ, AY, AF, IB, VY, BA, LH, OS, EI, OK, TP, LX, U2 are all using them (319/320's) on several flights, although not on all. Usually they also bring other aircraft types to AMS.

Because I saw many nice pics from Pieter and JAL <_< now I want to dedicate this nice and tiny Fokker 100 to Pieter :p Did they cleanup this machine Pieter? Mx people listened to your voice?

Seen on arrival from MAN, "KLM1094".

    Bye

    Eric

  8. Hey Pieter

thanks for our newest 767-300ER (JA615J). It is delivered just a few weeks ago to my knowledge. You have been lucky at CPH too! A big variety of airliners there, more then I saw a few weeks earlier. HKG weather is causing some heathaze/blurr on your images and indeed the sensor dust is still visible. You really should take some time to clean it, as you will find this ignoring in many of your images. HKG seems a very interesting place, I like the KE 737 (saw one at NRT myself too by the way).

  9. Thanks Seth & Pieter! And of course, I didn't leave for home again after I've seen 3 more beauties filled up to the max with our orange Dutchmen :p They all departed within 15 minutes behind eachother. No problem for AMS, but I think Stuttgart may get a busy day

    IPB Image

uhh Seth, I think a 757 even looks more better then First Choice when it's dressed in red :)

Airborne too early due to a low amount of fuel, strong lift, and no baggage/cargo in the holds... A shame, it could have been a better picture!

    IPB Image

A B767-200 is always nice to see nowadays at AMS. Air Canada used to fly them here, but from tomorrow (June 17) they restrart their daily schedule on -300ER's.

    IPB Image

*ugh* How do Dutch football-fans feel in a German aircraft. I don't know. All I know is that also HHI D-AHIF is bringing over some of 'orange' to our neighbouring country!

    That's it for now folks,

    Eric

*oeps* sorry guys. I almost forgot to bring in this new Asian beauty (ex SQ aircraft). Now B-2428 with Chinese startup carrier 'Great Wall Airlines'.

  10. Pieter, you've seen some great planes out there! HEL seems a interesting place to catch some smaller Scandinavian/Finnish turboprobs. And of course the larges AY traffic.

    Some tips for you;

    - clean up your sensor, it's having an ignoring dust spot. Check your manual how to get access to the sensor of your Nikon camera. Otherwise mail me tomorrow in my office.

    - to get nice shots on the prop-blur of the Saab 340's, ATR's, F50's etc., you may choose to set your camera to a lower shutter speed (e.g. 1/125) to get some 'action props' instead of the steady view on them. Maybe nice to teach yourself on this with some KLC F50's at AMS. It may be difficult sometimes to get the subject sharp, that's why.

    Waiting for your update...

    Eric :)

  11. My company decided to introduce the first Converted Freighter to AMS, on June 8th, being one of the first destinations for this type! JA8902 is the (un)lucky number to serve as 'converted' one... It's a fine machine, and the cargo loading system inside is just great :)

    Here's my picture guys!

    IPB Image

    Bye!

    Eric

PS - Pieter, it will serve AMS every Thursday and Saturday from now on!

  12. Eric.... You have poisoned me with the 70-200 f/2.8... :vava: :diablo: :cray:

Great pictures from the glasses Eric...

Thanks! Now looking for a smaller lens too, and when found, I'll put my 'old' 28-300 f/3.5-6.3 on ebay.

I hope the summerseason will be good to do some testing with my new toy :D

  13. Pieter,

really some great shots you've shown to us. Personally I like the SF340, it's a pretty commuter. And a shame that they don't fly with KLM cityhopper anymore! I still remember the sad crash of the CWL flight many years ago, almost hitting the famous rwy 06-24 spotting area!

    And furthermore some more AMS-action on the 29th;

    IPB Image

A very smart looking B737 coming in from Prague, short finals for rwy 27 in windy weather conditions...

PH-BQD departing rwy 24 for another longhaul international flight!

It was some great spotting on Sunday,

    Eric

  14. And...................I got her too :good: Was about to leave for home after 6pm when she appeared; here are my shots of her: don't you think she's pretty with her gorgeous 'clean' legs and 2 nice red ni...es :clapping: ?

Anyhow, Eric, this is how your "Silver Bullet" looks like, when passing EHLE after take-off on her way to Narita:

Pieter, have you been at AMS also today?! You've been travelling a lot then! Give me a sms next time maybe we can meet somewhere around the field.

The JL6404, JA401J, nonstop to NRT climbing out. I took off at rwy 24, in front of my camera :) It's a great mirror in the sky Pieter! Well done ;)

And I'm waiting for your Dakota pics! Should be some great stuff!

    Bye!
