  1. Another stupid decision. Paint the retro on the A380 would have got them world attention and publicity for the right reasons,Current scheme on A380 boring like hell. Why waste $$ painting a plane that's obsolete.
  2. Hahaha happens to me on MH flights all the time too to AKL.Just as tea/coffee about to start then mysteriously ding and that PA, This then stays on till just before landing.
  3. Good to know they are working on it. Hope MH pull their socks up and work on it too expecially for their new A330's.
  4. It doesn't quite work like that. If it was all in one word than it will be easy. You have to micro manage and micro analyze to see areas of improvement and break them down as above.
  5. Hi Folks just starting a thread on ideas on improvement for MH services.Hopefully someone will read and improvise some of them. Please add on other ideas that you may have seen on other airlines. 1. Air fresheners in toilets (99 cents retail solid blocks) as seen on QF and AI. Really makes a whole of difference to the toilets. 2. Dispenser type Mouth rinse in toilets with little cuplets (cuplets exist on MH toilets)as seen on SQ 3.Fragrant towelettes to freshen up on dinner tray as on TG 4.single mint on dinners tray as seen on Air India 5. Salt and pepper as per all other airlines 6, Mini size coke cans, soda cans sprite and, wine bottle as per QF instead of clumsy looking gigantic wine bottles. 7.Roll given out on all services on Qantas is actually garlic bread (roll which contains garlic butter) and once warmed is so yummy (so no need separate butter anymore) 8, Cater from 3rd party for deserts as per QF cream caramel which will be supplied to Brahims just to load to aircraft. Soo yummy.Intsead of current product from Brahims kitchen which is hopeless 9. Mini I pads as carried by jetstar crew which are updated real time before departure. with seat map.and pax name, touch the seat on the i pad and all the info about the pax booking fare type onward journey past journey and every other info comes to your finger tips with the pax name. this then enables crew to confidently solve any issues that the pax may have raised with the crew. 10. cleaner cabins by ensuring the cleaners team members (by name) are taken to task if upon inspection found job not well done what other innovation that you all have seen that can be implemented to MH at minimal cost
  6. MH newly delivered aircraft doesn't even feature the warm white led reading lights which I have seen on thai A340 600 years back. it lends a lovely reading environment and very pleasant cabin ambiance.Really enjoyed that flight many years back BKK/SYD/AKL. Instead its the old yellowish light on MH A330
  7. Need evidence? just go on board the aircraft that has been said on the above couple of post.MTH/MTM md galley lavs port side,MTL back lavs, dust accumulation on air con vents, carpets etc
  8. In helping to put back the seat cover fully I had to remove seat cushion and found a peanut packet too.It was unopened fortunately. I think kenneth youre right that the cleaning contract needs to be changed. There was a recent trip report from australia where the reporter (who was invited by MH) reported seeing a big rat on board A330 business class. At that time couples of month back I thought he was just being picky because its MH but I understand now. Hope they really get down to cleaning their a/c wel or get a better contractor.
  9. Flew syd/Bkk on a 10 year old QF A330 then Air india 787 Bkk/ Del followed by del/Ccu on Jet airways, then ccu/kul Air asia and last MH A330 kul akl. I noted that MH 3/4 years old plane (MTH/MTM) was not in the best shape as far as cabin was concerned. the toilet coverings were all peeling or peeled off, flush was duck taped to max haphazardly and seat cushions were sticking out and carpet had soil marks on it.On the seat next to me the cushion wasn't even properly put on as it did seem a tight fit and some one left it half done with the white bit showing. The QF plane (despite yellowish ceiling due age) had no such wear and tear issues in the toilets and carpets looked much cleaner too. The toilet very dark colors and dark floor colors did not help. The wooden galley flooring looked as tho its days were over.
  10. if you arrive early for your appointment at the doctors and there's another patient in there, expect to wait. Baggage more then 30 mins wait at KLIA ( 1hour norm) no excuse, pathetic at best.
  11. This will be one reason I wont fly MH anymore, unless absolutely necessary.Bye bye MH!
  12. The government/Malaysia Airlports needs to allow competition in this business to enhance quality,so they should allow a international caterer to be in KUL,ie SATS,Gate Gourmet,LSG or DNATA. Only way forward, as brahims is a monopoly and hence needs competion to improve.
  13. They should just fly Kul/bne/akl 2,4,6, (no airline operating kul/bne) or kul/ool/akl and kul/syd/akl 1,3,7 they already have crew stopping over at those to aussie ports,so it will just be a turn around for them syd/akl/syd or bne/akl/bne.MH use to do this eon years ago. EK and Mh already operates kul/mel as pointed out by flee. They should get the 5th freedom rights easily,as EK has them from all 3 cities from aussie to auckland using 380 equipment. ,
  14. If MH wants to remain a truly international airline,Its food and beverage offerings must be up with the rest.I don't normally drink alcoholics drinks on flight, but there are some other international travelers who do,wine with their meal and we should also cater for them, not just totally ignore them and live in a small world of our own. I think we who grew up in Malaysia in the past generation are a very tolerant and respectful society members but cant say the same for the current generation albeit not everyone. When one is drowning,to hold its head down the water by suggestions which is going to further erode its international feel if wrong.Hence the beverage offering should remain as it is. As far as food is concerned on MH, I just dont know what to say. Just wish we could all sit together and send suggestions to the MH team on how catering can be improved. For a start, a great nasi lemak for Y class should be introduced as per the 90's.
  15. I strongly agree with this. Whoever in charge with MH catering should be fired. Very poor catering. I have traveled often on MH Kul/akl and also with QF from Sin but its worlds apart as far as catering is concerned. For example,on my flight from syd/akl, a complimentary after take off drink, followed by drinks on cart (any drink you desire from the cart),followed by meal service 3 choice, garlic bread (yummy for Y class!) then later ice cream and before landing basket full of lindor chocs, just 3 and 1/2 hour flight! I wont bother comparing the sin/syd leg with akl/kul cause its just a shame. And sadly all then ulamaks after after the kabaya and the alcoholic drinks served on board, just to terlanjang it more. They have lots to learn from QF.
  16. if this can work as a 3 way relationship QF MH EK then it may work.
  17. I still think that if the 2 L's converge (berjumpa) in the middle where the aerotrain runs will be more efficient so no bottleneck occurs in peak ac movement period.
  18. While the extension is great on either ends, the addition of gates to the departure lounge (where current check in couners are located) will create a bottle neck for a/c parked there on pushback, cause imagine 2 ac needs to be pushed back at the existing gates then this ac has to wait till the taxiway is completely clear. Also not to mention The views from the terminal will be gone. If the extension goes all the way to bunga raya, the bunga raya can be drop off point 2 for pax who do not wish to walk too far.with a train service running the entire length of the terminal like changi. Also the L shape can be extended on the other 2 ends too till when the aerotrain goes underground. An addition of a new sattelite seems to be the ultimate thing to do tho.
  19. So if the russian chief say so then thats the gospel thruth. Wheres the proof?Just like they denied shooting down MH17. Sounds like just wanna find a reason to attack them further! Because they know their aviation safety record is sooo poooor, that this would make it worst if they dont find a scape goat. I dont trust the russians anymore after MH17. Also on Tuesday, a U.S. defense official said Russia had conducted a "significant number of strikes" in Raqqa in northern Syria in the past several hours. http://edition.cnn.com/2015/11/17/middleeast/russian-metrojet-crash-bomb/ So sorry the thread title is misleading cause no solid proof,no forensic evidence, just talk by putin as usual..kindly change it mod.Sadly its karma that their plane sufered a structural damage/fatigue due earlier repair.
  20. There's still hope sandeep, taking account what you said in yr earlier post, convert those to COMBI,like MH had before 747 combi. So A380 combi.Carry loads of cargo a 200 pax.Its not easy you may add but its not impossible. You can always modify yr VW CDT if you cant sell it!
  21. Haha that's true mate rugby first and then burst tyre. Tried to edit the 'hanger' the next day but was too late.Though I will get away with it! Hahaha
  22. thanks Wee. On that note,MH should start a MRO facility here in AkL for Airbus airbus planes, then they can use their own facility and also hawaiain air A330 is also a frequent visitor to the hangar, china southern also utilises A330 and of course multiple A380s that are seen daily here 3 EK and 1 SQ could need some support as well.
  23. http://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/travel-troubles/72855532/passengers-on-flight-from-auckland-to-kuala-lumpur-face-long-wait What s up with Mh past 4 days in AKl? Drove past by Air New Zealand Hangar just now and there was a MH A330 there.Air NZ does not use A330's so no spares I guess. Any info?
  24. Sabah police confirms report received on a/c wreckage on southern Philippines island off Tawas coast.
