Will he take over the 6 A380 from MAS and start routes from Kuching to Europe, California and Sydney?

..without prior consultation with the state government (which reportedly subsidised the flights)..
Even if AK is making losses at that sector, they are not actually making any losses so they should be giving it more time as load is picking up.
"subsidised" dont mean that government takes the whole loss!
Normally an airport or an region pays a fixed price for every passengers on a new route...lets say ( just for example ) 30RM.
So if the yield is lower than expected, it could be really possible that AirAsia makes still a loss.
Dont forget, they reduced from daily to just 4 times a week first.
-
Probably this will give a clearer justification on the issue. Well Mr. AK sir, perhaps you could enlighten us, just bare in mind that we can sense biases.

“They (AirAsia) cited load factor but the load was 75 per cent for the last four months,” Yong was quoted in the media. With 75% load it was one of the worst AirAsia-Routes in the whole network!
I think i had read articles with "almost full flights"...
Once again, if Tony had make money with that route then it will not be canx!

Thai AirAsia

Have Malindo meanwhile a Crewbase at Denpasar for the routes to Australia?
I think that will make the operation really expensive!

Lion group need to consider to start Lion Air Malaysia for their LCC segment. So we have Batik and Lion. FSC and LCC. Gonna be a great for customers.
Really?
How deep you wanna fall?
Looks like the parent company meanwhile have some serious problems:
But maybe Malindo will get some old Lion 737-Birds...
-
Another option is to grant Uncle Tony's request to have a dedicated LCC terminal in KCH and AK will make KCH "the Dubai" of Borneo.
Uncle Tony have 6 A320 based in Kuching..you wanna change to some MASWings ATR?
-
Lolx, didn't they start Silangit almost at the same time last year?
They started 28th October.
But as i wrote....yields were sooooo deep.
And Malindo was faster to cancel Subang-Silangit ;-)

He declines to provide exact figures on the carrier’s CASK and RASK, but says they have been “on increasing trends”.Five years..no profits but mother in Indonesia pays all.
Chandran laments that not much has changed in recent years with regard to what he describes as “predatory pricing” by the other airlines. He questions the industry's sustainability should such practices continue.Im sure he is talking about Thai Lion..

From 23th january now they wanna start 2nd march...
Malindo Air in January 2019 once again revised planned service launch to Japan, as the 3 weekly Kuala Lumpur – Taipei Taoyuan – Sapporo New Chitose route being moved to March 2019. First flight is now tentatively scheduled on 02MAR19.OD888 KUL0740 – 1230TPE1345 – 1820CTS 738 236

AirAsia X may commence services between Japan and US west coast with A330neo31-Jan-2019AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail reportedly stated the airline will consider commencing services between Japan and the US West Coast with A330neo aircraft, due for delivery from 2020 (aviationwire.jp/Nikkei/impress.co.jp, 30/31-Jan-2019). Mr Ismail reportedly said the A330neo will have the range to reach Los Angeles and San Francisco from Japan. The airline currently operates Kuala Lumpur-Osaka-Honolulu service.
So far a rumour, but Tony twitterted that too last week when he visited the headquarter from Jet Blue in New York.
So maybe AirAsia X to LAX and / or SFO and from there further on Codehare or Interlining with Jet Blue to New York, Boston and Florida.

Once again..."load 100pc" dont mean the route is profitable.
I think around 90pc of the passengers are from China....if the chinese tour operators dont get a good price then they dont take again some seats.
Btw....first the route was daily....then reduction to 4/7.....
