  1. Nice shots Yusoff. I didn't realize TG is operating B772 into PEN until I saw your shot of HS-TJC. Nice to know that there's finally some variety here! A quick check in the system showed that TG is flying B772 on Days 1, 5, 6 and 7. A330s will fly on the other days. And here is CX692/28OCT08 this morning, operated by B-HUE. It has been a LOOOOOOOOOONG time since a passenger B747 operated to PEN! Keep your eyes open for Batavia Air and Riau Airlines (operating RJ100s!!!!) in November.
  2. Nothing much for Sunday 26OCT08, except for Sriwijawa that rotated later than usual (a sign that their loads are picking up, perhaps?). And a reminder that CX will be operating B744 for 28OCT.
  3. Hi Pieter, Sriwijawa does use B737-200s occasionally. I last saw them on Monday and Tuesday. I'll post photos when I get to photograph them. On another note, to all those in Penang, watch out for Finnair charter B757-200s coming soon. There will only be 10 flights from Nov08 to Mar09. I'll post the schedule in due course. And a reminder that CX B744s will be operating on Tuesdays effective 28OCT08. Also look out for new Indonesian carriers soon to appear at PEN from November! It's looking very exciting indeed!
  4. Thank you everyone for your encouraging words. I just happen to be one of the lucky ones who work at an airport!

  6. Sunday 05 October 2008 A selection of today's catch... apologies if you find them repetitive. These are all we get here at PEN!

  9. Wednesday 17 September 2008 For viewing pleasure...
  10. Yup, the shots of PK-CJM were taken using a 3-year old Sony Cybershot DSC-P73/S. Just for information, SJ102/103 was cancelled today. The PEN-MES sector is now served by Lionair, Kartika, Air Asia Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, and now Sriwijaya Air. With Jatayu about to restart soon, I wonder how long these airlines will last! There're also rumours there is going to be ONE MORE Indonesian carrier entering this segment (not Jatayu!)!!!
  11. Sorry I wasn't clearer guys. Effective 28OCT08, CX692 (PEN-HKG) will be operated by B744 on Tuesdays.
  12. Thanks guys for all your encouraging comments. A piece of good news here: Sriwijaya Air commenced flights to PEN today. SJ102 MES-PEN STA: 0855h SJ103 PEN-MES STD: 0935h The inaugural flight today was operated by PK-CJM, which was delayed until 1600h. Apologies for quality of photos as they were taken using a compact digital. And yet another piece of news: CX will be operating B744s into PEN on Tuesdays effective 28OCT. Always nice to have something new to shoot!
  13. Time to revive this thread with photos taken today (13SEP08)! B-HNO CX720 PEN-KUL-HKG HS-TEG TG426 PEN-BKK B-6288 CZ396 PEN-CAN-XMN 9V-SVK SQ192 SIN-PEN * yawn * 9M-MMR MH1137 PEN-KUL * yawn * 9M-FYA FY3302 PEN-TGG TF-ARJ MH6148 PVG-PEN-TAS-FRA HL7467 KE368 PEN-ICN

  15. FY5613 HKT-PEN and FY5614 PEN-SZB were route-proving flights for 9M-FYA today. Aircraft parked at Bay 14. Sorry guys... just too busy recently to take any photos...
  16. Sunday 13 July 2008 Haven't had any interesting subjects lately...
  17. Sunday 22 June 2008... my lucky day... CI5867 (TPE-KUL-PEN) touching down on Runway 04. B-18720's thrust reversers kicking up some moisture on the slightly wet runway after a downpour earlier on. MH1154 operated by 9M-MQE today after a short hop from KUL. And finally... the most stunning shot of the day... B737-900ER PK-LFM operating the delayed JT287 (PEN-MES) instead of an MD80. I can only hope this is a permanent equipment upgrade, and not just for this flight. No prizes for guessing what I'm praying for if JT indeed has decided to upgrade their equipment to the B737-900ER. Dream... dream... dream... keep dreaming...
  18. Nice shots, Wilson! Some lousier shots by me: MH1138 (KUL-PEN) operated by 9M-MKX. Rare to see an MH pax widebody here! AK5852 (PEN-BKI) performing an AMAZING takeoff. The daily boring SQ191 (PEN-SIN). KL168 (PEN-DXB) operates only on Fridays and is not to be missed! KE362 (PEN-ICN) departing with a full load of electronic components manufactured here. Arrrgghh... BR6209 flying right into a huge flock of birds!
  19. Hi Tsen Tsan, yup, was at PVG but now based at PEN! Hi Fabian, yes, MH6191 is a weekly service from NRT. There are other MASkargo flights but their schedules are very erratic. Depends on luck, really!
  20. 15JUN08 - 9M-MPR arriving from NRT as MH6191. Smoky touch-down on runway 04. 15JUN08 - 9M-MPR
  21. Once again, a small selection for your viewing pleasure. 12JUN08 - TC-AGK basking in the glorious morning sunlight after arrival from BKK as LD831, holding short of runway 04 at Bravo and awaiting clearance to cross the runway for the cargo complex. UPS148 on short finals. 12JUN08 - The only B757 operator here. UPS148 (N463UP) just after touch-down and posing in front of WMKP's control tower. 12JUN08 - HL7604 departing as OZ386 for ICN. 13JUN08 - Rolling as SQ195 for SIN.
  22. That's affirmative, the Kuzu Cargo was operating for Air Hong Kong as LD831 (BKK-PEN). This is a daily morning arrival except Saturdays.
  23. Hi Wilson, that is Bay 5, which is currently used for narrow-body pax flights while Bays 6 & 7 are closed for apron renovations. Pity I didn't go to the airport over the weekend due to bad weather. Would have loved to meet up with all of you guys! Nice pictures nonetheless!
  24. That was CI0673 TPE-PEN arriving late at around 1750h. Very rare to be able to photograph a CI aircraft here in evening light!
