  1. Syed, may I know where do you get that seating map from as Malaysia airline doesn't seems to do seat selection online on their international flight?
  2. For all the folks around Brisbane, the RAAF air show will be on 4 to 5 October 2008 http://www.raaf.gov.au/airshow/displays.aspx
  3. Yeap, you can use JRPass for the ferry between Miyajima and Hiroshima as they are part of the Japan Rail group.
  4. Awesome! I did mine back in Nov 2006. Stayed at Japan for 11 days, going from Tokyo -> kyoto -> Osaka -> Kyoto -> Hiroshima -> Miyajima Island -> Hiroshima -> Kyoto -> Tokyo... Worth every cents spent on the rail pass ... I think Nozomi is slightly faster than Hikari as it is a non-stop bullet train whereas Hikari will stop at major stations whereas kokoda stop at every stations
  5. You don't have to go through Canberra for your japan visa. You can contact Japanese consulate at Melbourne, and it will take 3 to 5 working days to process your application. I think you can bypass the guarantor's form if you can get an employment letter from your employer to proved that you are working in Australia. Finally, make sure you purchase the Japan Rail Pass as they are valid for 7 days, and you may take as many bullet train trip as you wish (P.S. You can use JRPass on any Japan rail transport other than the Nozomi bullet train)
  6. Luckily I've paid my tickets for November trip few months ago (BNE - KUL - HKG - KUL - BNE) else there will be an additional surcharge of AUD150 to 200... AUD600 of tax + fuel surcharge for LHR, now that's really crazy as Royal Brunei used to charge AUD 600 to 700 for BNE to KUL (round trip).
  7. Wow... that does really bring back the memory when my family were taking a F27 from Tawau to BKI connecting to Singapore... I like the sound of the prop. Since F27 was flying not as high as 734, dad were able to tell me what's on ground .... thumbs up
