  3. Never received the card from MH, never really cared for it before this since status was always shown on boarding pass. But to answer your question, I did show the status / virtual card on the MH App to BA and she said if not printed then not possible. No problems using the BA lounge though, they scanned the boarding pass and it's in the system, just not printed.
  4. Does anyone here have a problem about Enrich status not being printed on the boarding pass with BA? Had an early morning flight from LHR > BCN yesterday wth BA, status in the system but not printed on boarding pass, so lady Got pissy at me during boarding, she wouldn't let me in early, even with Saphire status. Taking an IB flight to MAD on Monday, hopefully no issues and it's just a BA glitch..

  8. Quick question, can enrich members earn on ALL EK flights or only earn on selected EK flights that MH has codeshared? Reading the MH website, I understood it to be only on EK flights that MH codeshares.
  9. I wonder if this is a reflection of what type of airline they will be if they can't even proof read their own marketing materials. Quite disappointing.

  15. Of course they don't mention it, MAS 5star status is under review. If you read the reviews, a lot of negative comments from IFE, to seats and staff. Gone are the days of a 5 star carrier. Doubt aer lingus ceo guy would take too much stock of having 5star status.

  22. It makes perfect business sense. Ruin the Airasia brand now! What they are doing to the Japanese public perception, the confidence in the brand would be a kin to character assassination. It tells the Japanese, do not trust this Malaysian brand, for its no good, it cancels your flights, it pulls out of the market after some months. Should Airasia try to restart, the damage would be done. They would have a hard time. TF and Airasia is also at fault, stating publically that they would possibly try again in Japan. You don't state your business direction and country strategy publicly to what is now potentially your future competitor. Smart move ANA!
  23. It was bound to fail from the get go. 1) They never had full management control in AirAsia Japan, unlike peach or even jetstar Japan. ANA shareholding is much higher in Airasia Japan than in Peach, or JAL in jetstar. It was ANA in the management seat, the CEOs of Airasia Japan were all long time ANA employees. Why is it that even as Both Jetstar and Airasia Japan are based at Narita, fly to the same routes bar Korea, started around the same time, yet Airasia Japan underperformed? 2) ANA is not all to be blamed, Airasia never tailored themselves to the nuances of the Japanese market, where credit card uptake is low. Japan loves its cash, they didn't have distribution channels to suit the market, ie having c stores as a payment and distribution outlet, a popular method in Japan, instead, relying too heavily on the airasia website, which to the Japanese is too unfriendly. This is a matured market where nuances are entrenched, not emerging South East Asia where the public bends to the company's will. 3) I believe ANA took on board Airasia even when they had Peach because they did not want Airasia to go JV with another party, I.e. skymark airlines. Better to canabalize your competitors than face airasia as a competitor. Smart move, costly move for Airasia more so than ANA, the Airasia brand domestically in Japan would be impacted. 4) Japan is dead serious about on time performance, train companies would come out with letters to employers for trains being late. ANA is the worlds most punctual airline, this is all at the expense of quick turn around times which Airasia is known for, something that Airasia needs to take more seriously if they are to venture again in Japan. 5) This is all a fascinating business case study, but should Airasia try Japan again, it needs to be in management control, it needs to humble itself to the stark differences in the Japanese market, Glocalization is key in Japan.
  24. Not good. Should have deported him back. Now it's an incentive for all those overstayers and illegals to pull the same act. We need to be stricter with immigration issues.
