I think they only had enough fuel to reach Kuwait , if they can land in Dubai they will! I also read a replacement a380 was sent to Kuwait to pick up the pax. Maybe that is why, nearer to hub better service recovery. My 2 sens.

FAA officially approves using electronics during all phases of flight

IMO, it's still up to the country authorities in this case DCA. Then after that the airline. -
Right now seats are assigned. The only way quicker by aerobridge is to board according to row numbers.

MAS Current Fleet Withdrawal Thread

Singapore controls most the airspace in the southern part of South China Sea. After that is Manila Control. A typical flight from KUL-BKI will have you be in Lumpur airspace till Somewhere around Pekan in Pahang. Then you will be with Sngapore up till a rough estimate 200 miles from KK where you will be passed on to Kinabalu Control. -
AWesOME!!!

The one I gonna miss the most is the quick walk from landside to airside. One can just pop in 45 minutes before if you don't have a luggage on a domestic flight and pop right in.
-
I think boarding a full flight using 2 stairs aft and forward is much faster than through the aerobridge

Thanks for the info. They probably have a weather radar just that it is an archaic one without multiscan capabilities. I wouldn't feel safe flying around without a weather radar especially in our area where thunderstorm cells are aplenty.

Was on board xxl, the seats are in D7 configuration. Inside looked like a new plane despite the age.
-
Had a flight once on D7 to MEL, a middle aged lady (mainland china / hong kong based on her english accent) threw a hissy fit when the seat in front of her reclined while she was watching on her ipad. Her words were something like "whats the problem with you! you put down your chair how can i watch my ipad, you wan sleep u pay money go business class and sleep" . Got told off by the FA, said things like they paid for the seats and the seats come with a reclining function, and to the extent of fidgeting with her ipad stand to get the "ideal view" , and then she protested by reclining for the whole flight. I was sitting behind her. So much for sittting in the quiet zone..

ATC gives clearances up to your approach, after that it's all yours. They don't baby sit you down the runway, unless of course you're doing a PAR Approach, but that is mostly military. -

They need to sort out the controllers too. Modern equipments are useless without trained proactive controllers. -
