  1. Terminal 1 is surely in a mess with incompetent planning and people manning it too. I recently flew back twice from an international flight and there was a 'mini brawl' at the queue to take the bus to the MTB. People were cutting the lines and no proper instructions from the "Ask Me" Staff. Eventually all passenger boarded the bus, albeit a tired set of passengers. It is no wonder they are ranked 71st and keeps slipping away. Jaguh kampung managing and manning it, what else can you expect; and yet, MAHB makes profit year in year out with abysmal services at their main gateway. As for Terminal 2, it is expected to have the least of excellent services yet they meet better standards than that of Terminal 1. Oh well 😂

  3. Cambodia Airways to begin Kuala Lumpur

    KR781 PNH 1320LT - 1615LT KUL 2, 4

    KR781 PNH 1420LT - 1715LT KUL 7

    KR782 KUL 1715LT - 1830LT PNH 2,4

    They will utilize the A319

  4. KLIA is still in a mess from what it used to be at least. The quality has dropped tremendously to its lowest while its neighbours took advantage of the pandemic to make improvements and refurbishment. The design of the airport design seems to be a mistake while they continue to make profits (MAHB). The issues I can highlight through experience since January to date are :-

    1) Terminal 1 (T1) parking entrance continues to be a problem throughout the day

    a) machine not issuing the coin/chip

    b) TnG option faulty

    c) customer service unreachable

    d) Premiere Parking at Level 2, really? Why?

    2) T1 Public Toilets are not all SDG friendly - the ones near McD's heading to Anjung Tinjau have no dryers but only paper towels

    3) T1 Check In Lines are a mess everyday at peak hours, cluttered & confusing to the laymen alike

    4) T1 Staff at some check in counters are clueless about the special assistance service and charging USD50 to assist someone to the gate

    5) T1 Cleaning staff are seated anywhere around the airport vicinity, steel barriers on the ground, etc

    6) T1 Lacking creativity and ambience for an international hub

    7) T1 The signages of the feeder buses to the satellite terminal is poor, what more the service itself which is abysmal

8 ) Poor communication skills of the GTR check-in staff (I experienced a few incidents myself yesterday)

    9) T1 Anjung Tinjau has become a dodgy place; it is a noisy place now with one side dedicated for TH travel updates making the place chaotic and the 'plane spotting experience' unwelcoming, passengers occupying the whole row of seats to sleep (I guess this happens at other airports too), basically from a world class airport into a pasar pagi/malam/petang, no proper enforcement nor quality control, style ada, maintenance takda

    10) T1 is also becoming an upcoming and happening base for touts, scammers, etc - just ask how many taxi touts, tugs and conmen there are at the arrival hall, anjung tinjau (professional beggars) and more

    11) E-hailing services at T1 are also leaving much to be desired - drivers cancelling on passengers, taking their time to 'makan" at their warung at the cowboy-town, etc

    12) Cost saving and reducing the air-conditioning at Anjung Tinjau is not cool at all, especially since they made one side a play area for children and another for prayer facilities for the Muslims

A lot more to share of course but the above are some highlights of my own experience and my two cents

  5. Shocked at his feedback, I thought he had some substance comparatively to the other leaders previously. Maybe it was quoted out of context and showcased as the reason; bad journo. In todays world, this is a bitter statement and alike a loser because they should be focusing on moving forward with the latest technology and innovations. Something fishy 🐟

On another note, I flew with MH from KCH and found their crew to be very efficient and friendly. They were mostly seniors in the cabin and younger in the cockpit. Captain spoke really well and very informative. I was lucky to be on the newly refurbished aircraft and had the chance to have their onboard catering and it was good.

  6. ANA to ramp up frequencies to KUL

ANA will increase its HND-KUL / KUL-HND service from 5x weekly to 7x weekly effective 01SEP24

ET to increase seat capacity to KUL

ET will increase seat capacity on their ADD-SIN-KUL/KUL-SIN-ADD sector, whereby 1 of 4 flights will be operated by the B789, the remaining 3 weekly flights will be operated by their B788 effective 05JUN24

TG flight equipment changes to KUL

TG will change flight equipments to KUL effective 31MAR24 where B788 replaces B772ER for TG415/416 flights and B789 replaces B788 on TG417/418

EK to increase seat capacity to KUL

EK will upgrade EK342/343 on the DXB-KUL/KUL-DXB route from the present B773ER to an A388 effective 01JAN24, making it twice daily A388 and 1 daily B773ER to KUL; though the upgrade has not begun to date.

Thank you. I understand they want to be patriotic but it's a bit odd that they have so many non-standardized livery (worst was probably the A380 blue). The flag is a bit too in your face for my taste. I think the swoosh livery is simple and nice. If they really want to do Negaraku, maybe remove the crescent moon and star. I think just the red stripes and blue is fine. Or better yet, incorporate our indigenous art into their livery like what Qantas is doing (tail remains the same tho).

Do they recognize our indigenous art in Malaysia?

MH will add 1 additional seasonal flight each to SYD and MEL.

    MH7031 KUL2335 - 1055+1SYD 333 5 (03NOV - 03FEB)

    MH7030 SYD1310 - 1845KUL 333 6

    MH7041 KUL0445 - 1540MEL 333 5 (29DEC - 02FEB)

    MH7040 MEL1740 - 2255KUL 333 5

MH7031/7030 is *identical*  to MH 122/123 schedule wise. Can't they move the schedule a bit or are their 333s are kinda fully utilized or they can't get decent slots at SYD/MEL? Ditto for MH7041 to MEL - seems like an ungodly departure time from KUL.

In other news, it seems like MH 796/797 (RON flight to BKK, late departure from KUL and early morning departure from BKK) is back. MH will also upgauge their 2 DOH flights to 359 and downgauge NRT/KIX to 333 (maybe MH/QR needed more premium seats to DOH?). It appears that all of MH's 359s are fully utilized: MH 1-4 (3 frames), MH 36/37 (HND) 1 frame, MH 160/161/164/165 (DOH) 2 frames.

It is about time they upgrade their services, offerings and aircrafts for DOH! Such a downgrade for a QR flight using MH' A330s. Cockroaches at least on my flight last year & rude crew :(

  10. Actually MH was among the first few carriers who had foreign languages onboard their flights before the likes of what EK, QR and EY have today. They had crew from RSA, Korea, Japan and also Argentina to cater to the diversity in its passengers. Of course today,  SQ and all the major carriers brand themselves as having multilingual crew onboard. Such a sad state that MH has become from what they were thanks to the mismanagement, wrong leaders and interference of politicians only to lose our national carrier. So focused on the internal benefits that they forget the brand name they have established and the pride they carry for all Malaysians. Sort off like living in their own 'bubble' or 'syok sendiri' like many other local issues we have; only to be ranked amongst the lower ranking airlines today. I trust that they are opening up now to diversity and business focused, so lets hope they improve their service levels and staff morale with the new management and leadership in both the airline (MH) and the country. New and sustainable aircraft orders soon to move forward. Just my two cents. Fingers crossed 🤞

lastly, if we can't afford all of that, the least that can be done is to minimise negative publicity. Calls to bad 'sinful' displays like beachwear and alcohol or making a spectacle of seizing watches seem to be far more impactful than our tourism ads these days.

Adding on; the extremism amongst our politicians and some Malaysians to ban things like concerts and relating it to drugs and bad behavior's, banning comedians because they are transgendered?, etc does not bode well with our incoming tourist or even many locals. Of course thanks to the lackadaisical attitude of our key decision makers has brought about this mess. We only see airlines increasing flight frequencies to our neighboring countries, yet Malaysia does not stand out despite being the top 20 airports in the world pre-pandemic. The branding is messed up, do we want people of other cultures and faiths to come to Malaysia?

What is the issue and how are we tackling it moving forward? We have so much to offer but as mentioned, we have a crappy main gateway, pathetic offerings by our national carriers, unwelcoming & heavily restrictive tourism, complacency, lack of accountability of airport operators, power struggle in these organizations and many more. We are in a mess indeed! This is just my point of view, I think we can do way better than what we have currently. Blaming the pandemic is really unacceptable because our neighbor down south took the opportunity to refurbish their terminals during the pandemic, once the pandemic was over, voila they had everything in place for the influx and suppressed travelers. What did we do? Aerotrains continued to get further damage and eventually halted the service, terminal was and still a mess, staff have become more incompetent, bosses have increased their expectations to make up for losses and demand the sky and the moon from the staff with no proper remuneration, no retraining or reassessment post-pandemic, airlines have dived into a greed mode to milk everything from the customers and also their own staff to ensure that the top heavy are well fed. I think we should do something and this is a good opportunity to improve moving forward. Our other friends in Southeast Asia are rapidly moving and we are going to be left behind, far far behind because we are focusing on the wrong things. Tina Turner's concert in the 80's comes to mind. What a shame!

Does anyone have contacts with the right decision makers to have a forum with us? Oh well, lethargy at its best!
