  1. This is a no can do. Having a boarding pass without the security stamp (which you can only get landside) doesn't work. Asked many times on-site.
  2. Looks like there's been a change to the operating schedule. Was supposed to be 2 July start, on monday thursday and saturday, going daily by aug 15, but it looks now like 3 July, on Tuesday Friday and Sunday, going daily only by Aug 25 or so...
  3. Quick analysis - MH 52J + 96Y on the upper deck. SQ for comparison has 60J+88Y or 86J if 1)there aren't going to be any special amenities like bars. meaning similar levels of floor/galley/lavatory utilisation 2)roughly the same type of pitch in Y (assuming 32" in 2-4-2), 3)the MH seat map remains as is there should be slightly (10.36%) more square footage per pax in J on the MH plane than the SQ one. Of course it's overly simplistic - there are many gaps in the whole equation... just that i'm having a really slow day at work Anybody interested in my back of the napkin math?
  4. I've made a booking to go to LHR in August essentially blind - we'll see, either way it's going to be a bit of a novelty anyhow
  5. I flew on A6-EDT yesterday. Their overall product on their A380's is stunning - and worth every penny you pay for it. I'm a fan
  6. It's still a good passport. And should NEVER be abused
  7. accountawhat? Incidentally - the Malay version "akauntabiliti" is now recognised by dewan bahasa dan pustaka. But, you know, it's just a word in this country. Doesn't mean anything.
  8. BA has em on 318's.... it's not as rare as it sounds - and those aren't even angled, they're flat flat.
  9. Do what I do to avoid the last minute fares these LCC's charge - I have a AK flight booked every other weekend till April 2012 to go KUL-SIN on Friday night returning SIN-KUL on Sunday night, all booked months ago. So far this year I ended up using about 4 out of 10, throwaway 60% - but at RM 100 and a bit roundtrip - if i divide the money I paid for for 10 by 4 trips on average, it works out to about RM 200 ish per trip, not so bad. You just have to be a little bit flexible with your schedules, otherwise, this way works best for me.
  10. Skytrax = Zero Credibility. Not saying MH does or does not deserve the 5 star rating, but I trust my 1.4 million bum-in-seat miles more than a site that gives ratings depending on how much you're willing to pay.
  11. Actually people using the abbreviation AA for Air Asia annoys me more........
  12. Yes. I've flown to and from that airport before. I think you can get quite close to the runway. Whether you dare or not is another story...
  13. Very clever..... money already taken , now we find out it's not open to the public yet
  14. Pitch increased in Business vs the old 330, I agree. But the a/c already in use for ADL and MEL is the 772..... and this is definitely a reduction in pitch. Misleading............
  15. Ooh i seem to recall where the "prints Gold Cards like no tomorrow" statement came from !
  16. Got the email. Will get pretty close to getting all 25k, just need to book a one way to somewhere domestic in Malaysia

  18. They have a K fare for RM276, Q for RM368, H=RM461, M=RM553, B=RM737, Y=RM921 and in business they have Z=RM829, J=RM1013, D=RM1289 and C=RM1566 These are all base fares, without taxes yet. The only thing we can find so far loaded is the B and Z fare which you quoted at RM917 and RM1009 all in respectively. If those other economy fares become available later (assuming they can be sold locally ex KUL), it won't too bad value, however, the business class fare for sale is already the lowest code they've loaded, and will not likely go lower unless the base fare changes.
  19. Can someone post the link please I'm a get the deal member but never got the email
  20. Say what you like, but this Economy+ thing is a brilliant masterstroke from MH. It books into booking code E, which does not correspond to the traditional C,D,J,Z or I coding system for business for most airlines. As such, on an itinerary printout it shows economy, but yet you end up sitting in a J seat, and can request one as such. For company travel, it's a godsend, since I then don't have to get approvals to travel J domestically (note: it's far less hassle in my company to travel full fare Y at a given price, than it is to travel in J on the same route even if it was less - the trick is all in the naming convention)
  21. Wah... first day already got 4 bars on his epaulette..... by the time he got 10000 hours maybe got 10 bars
  22. Not a good time for the Kalitta family. The owner's son Scott who was a famous NHRA drag racing champion was killed June 21 whilst racing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Kalitta P.s. If you search you tube - there's a video of the drag racing accident that took his life.
