  1. As can I. I personally know a whole bunch of people who work in airports behind counters, and this kind of aggression usually means calling in the police. You may think this is overreacting as she's just a tiny girl with an infant but there is a good reason for it. This kind of aggression makes OTHER passengers nervous. If you want to fly, always be prepared that things can go wrong, and when they do, be firm and be polite with the staff you're dealing with, but never lose your cool. Have I been bumped? Yes. More times than i can count. Know the rules, know your rights (if you don't, learn them), and over time you'll come out comfortably ahead of the curve compensation wise. Less: I am enrich mega super titanium elite extra kow kow tambah limau card for 12 years you know? Less: You know who i am? You know who my grandfather is ah? My hubby is 3rd biggest tai loh in Klang, 2nd biggest in Selangor and number 1 in Malaysia. I teach you a lesson. You come outside now! Less: I swear I'll tell NST, and the star and malaysiakini and all my 75 friends on Facebook. More: Ok. What are the options? Can you FIM (flight interrupt manifest aka transfer) me to another airline? More: There's another one at 1050. Looks like there are no more economy seats, but some business (yes, that means arming yourself with some tools). Can I be put on that one? Doing all this means you put the pressure back on the agent to not fob you off with "Computer says no" canned answers (watch Little Britain- Carol Beer for that reference) Yes, it does involve a bit of preparation and arming yourself. But then, I do that if i buy a car. I don't walk into the showroom to put a downpayment without knowing what the car can do. Same goes for most things that i consider large purchases. Her blog is an overly dramatic rant. Travelers need to arm themselves with knowledge. Not threats
  2. I have an excuse! I was only 5 at the time
  3. To add to this post - you'll need a tool that can view Emirates Reward inventory for partners. Expertflyer is a good tool (paid, but there's a free trial available) - For EK, in business, you'll need to see D class availability (Saver Business) for MH to book. For reference: it's X for Partner Economy (different from business which uses "saver"), and Z for Saver First.
  4. I can clearly remember the highest number and alphabet combo I've ever had - seat 96K.
  5. You never know. I might be THAT old....
  6. It's nice to put on a nice dress and go flying. Ok, maybe not for most of you, but if you enjoyed that sort of thing, who am I to argue?
  7. Ooops! I have some rather vivid memories actually. On one SQ 727 ride - i remember remarking to my dad as we boarded through the rear airstairs - "wow, this thing has a hole in the backside" (I remember cause my dad asked me not to be so crude). We got a sandwich on the flight to singapore, and i sat in what must have been row 4 or 5 in the window (mum in the middle and dad in the aisle) - and seeing this huge colourful waterslide on approach to QPG which i begged my parents to take me to. On my very first flight (it was an MH 737 also from SZB to QPG) - i remember the "FIDS" was a set of flashing lights next to the flight name to indicate boarding. I remember holding my mum's hand and squeezing it so hard cause i wanted the lights to flash up for our flight so we could go and fly. I think i pretty much dragged her down the ramp to the tarmac (anyone remember that spiral ramp?). Flying was a bit different then. You wore something nice. I still try to, to this day.

Not very many new things tried. 2016 Highlights: Robbed by TG of an A350-900 ride Told by Thai Lion (I'll excuse the language barrier, it was more hilarious than anything) to take off my dress if i wanted to sit in Emergency exit row as no skirts were allowed.. 9. For what it's worth - it is my finding also. Give me 5CD if in Y or 1AC if in J on those old birds and I'm a happy camper.
  10. They finally caught it. It was running around doing a MNL and SGN run the last few days. Like a dog I had that never wanted to bathe... very hard to catch.
  11. MTF went back in service last friday night.... Lone ranger MTK still flying around - Mr. Bandit know when it has to come into the shop?
  12. Very much so. You would be surprised at what sort of rates they're paying too.
  13. Current complement under the new structure is 4 on a 737 (2 in J, 2 in Y) and 10 on an A330.
  14. Yes, i did OLCI yesterday, and it worked. Not origin KUL nor was it done in KUL though.
  15. believe STE+ get a pretty good selection also
  16. What you got, on the BA 744 J upper deck -is the best experience in the entire fleet. Go downstairs on a super hi-86J config 744, or ride a LGW 772, and your opinion might change. There are far more variations and configs where the MH offering would come out ahead. 62/64AK on the 744 is a minor blip
  17. Oh you haven't heard the latest shenanigans from a certain A.Cruz? Credit card charge fee just went up too Yes I agree MH is a long way ahead in the customer service stakes right now.
  18. 4K and 6K are identical. 1K on the other hand, has a squarer and larger footwell, which is good. 1K also has a small area or gap forward of the console on the window side at floor level, behind the bulkhead - which I find useful for putting things like handbags in. 4K and 6K do not have this. Big minus of 1K vs the other thrones is that there's a galley light that shines pretty much straight at your face. It's very annoying on a night flight if the curtain isn't drawn and people tend to bump into the seat complex when returning from the lavatory
