  1. Don't want to bust the bubble but 78% means nothing as this sector is SZB - MKZ - MES - MKZ - SZB. How many in aircraft on te SZB MKZ SZB run......
  2. My heart is bleeding over catastrophic delays affecting MH Haj Operations over the last few days......unprecendented.....
  3. Can you blame TF for being where he is. He cannot help it, being surrounded by clowns, for him its like taking candy from kids.....
  4. BC, depends on how you report profits. When you set up an airline that rides on big brother's sunken costs, or pay resources only when you use avoiding setup and holding costs, an airline can make money with anyone heading it. This is indeed possible with AK in the picture. Shutting down MAS for a week will only inconvenience Malaysia's air travel for a while as AK can probably cover 50% of MH needs. Then restart MAS 'Baru' and reemploy ex-staff on new employment terms. Clean slate. Not easy, but more importantly, not impossible.
  5. Nothing wrong with old one but definitely something right with this mod. Just wonder what took them so long.....
  6. MAS is like a one night stand for many : They come, They tell sweet stories, get a good screw, then leave a trail of crap behind, and for some, take shelter in Khazanah, or move on to bigger things, and watch MAS crumble in their wake....most never stay for more than 10 years, some less than 5. What a shame.....
  7. " Lu jual Rolls Royce bikin 1 juta, Gua jual Toyota, Honda, Nissan, etc bikin 1,000 juta " And what's wrong with that. We will still have a prestigious National Carrier that does not bleed but makes modest profit. And the rakyat can still travel cheap ie " Now Everyone Can Fly; Everywhere " So what if Tony gets rich along the way.......he deserves it, for having one eye when the rest of us are blind.....
  8. Mafira Air, Asmara Air, FBI, and many more, including Al Wafeer......many don't learn, in the case of the last one even our National Airline got suckered. Apart from investors, some of whom can 'afford' to get their fingers burnt, the real pain are felt by a significant number of prospective employeees, some who left their secure jobs in chase of someone else's dream, but ending up carrying on with their own nightmare. Maybe this time its real......who knows.....
  9. NO. HEAVENS NO. NOT NOW. NOT EVER. Cheers.
  10. To be fair, top management may not be fully aware bcoz stats can be manipulated to skew the full picture. However, having someone with quick thinking business acumen will be able to see through the BS. I dare say someone like TF ( not was licking here, just a realistic opinion ) could have made some difference.
  11. We identified a new market, which traditionally would go to Thailand or Bali, operated out of Malpensa bcoz Sales blocked Charter Opns on Routes operated by scheduled flights, even though Rome to langkawai is not a scheduled route. Its about a percieved threat to their KPI. Or worried that another Department can do better. So its ok for the company to lose money as long as personal KPI is intact. Worked very hard with an Italian counterpart on this, who quit a year later in disgust partly because of this affair. Truly pathetic.
  12. We put together 14 Charter Flights from Malpensa to Langkawi a few years ago. Working together with Europe's premier Tour company Hotelplan, we made plenty of money for MAS but the plan was scuppered by management who alleged that we were cannabilising passengers from scheduled services. After that they diverted the flights tp Phuket.
  13. The sad reality is those Divisions are only at the tail end of business. They just operationalise the plans. Plans which are drawn up by the consistently bungling higher management. No matter how good they are, there is not much they can do to improve things. MAS Cabin Crew is really good, but that's not about Management, its about the crew themselves that are naturally nice. Divisional Management there have changed many times, they are still the best. Mas Engineering is really good, but don't let them do business, they will lose money by investing efforts in pie-in-the-sky projects. Check out the spares inventory managements, 3rd party agreement deficiencies and leasing activities. As for Flight Operations, its the Pilots that's keeping the ship together. Flight Operations management can come and go, the Pilots will still hold the fort. Diligent, competent, and always concientious of giving their best, even when bullied by the Management.
  14. Brilliant move on Bki. Rationalise Fy. Now gradual withdrawal of Mh. The field now goes wide open for AK. Kch may be next. Why share when one can manipulate to dominate.
  15. 3 A330 unutilised. 3 B744 with 455 seats unutilised/underutilised. 2 incoming A330Freighters. More 738s on the way. FY 738s parked.....MasKargo AOC effort stopped midway....MAS management must have a big grand plan awaiting revelation soon....maybe something radical....I'm sure they are not dumb.... But then, any unutilised aircraft can be returned to PMB, and encumberance removed from MH books ( my assumption may be wrong ) and PMB is Khazanah, and Khazanah is Rakyat's......plot somewhat thickens....
  16. Brilliant. MH should have done this long ago, but not innovative enough. With spare B734 in hand, all fully depreciated and amortised, it would not take much money to reconfigure and do this to complement mainstream services. CRJ, probably with only 20 - 30 luxury type seats for business travellers on-the-go. Quick check-in/check-out, SZB close to city centre. Gotta hand it to TF for being able to maneuver his way around mediocre uninnovative thinking competitors. hahaha......sit back with a popcorn and watch.....
  17. There are some minor inaccuracies in some of YB Wee's response regarding the issue of Cabin Crew payments, but in essence, he is making a lot of sense, and he has requested MOT to respond further and elaborate on a few more issues. Strangely, none of the mainstream newspapers picked this up. We will wait and see. From YB Wee's Blog; 3-11-2011 Y.B.
  18. Posted 05 October 2011 - 11:42 PM Haj Operations operational processes was something the Team I led put in place so anyone can run it like clockwork. I am not selfish enough to leave behind something the Team has worked for so hard so I seem indispensible. This contract is the last one for MH after the Team won it in the last tender exercise. Next year will be another story altogether. 9M-MPD was one of three aircraft leased to Al Wafeer in a poorly planned venture that I was dead against, as I saw many major defects in the contract negotiations process. I have vehemently advised the Management not to go ahead. I have also outlined my prediction as to how the venture will fail, but was thoroughly ignored. All were done in writing, and addressed directly to Tg Azmil, the CEO of MH then. I did not even get an acknowedgement. I watched in morbid horror how MH cluelessly went ahead delivering the three aircraft to the newly formed Al Wafeer that at the time of negotiations has a business plan that is not workable, does not own any operating rights, and a financial plan that is not sustainable. MH not only gave the aircraft away, but also assisted in the procurement and training of Al Wafeer cockpit crew. MH operational experience were also given to Al Wafeer on a platter to assist in putting in place an operational and engineering plan. When it became apparent that the lease program was not going as planned, MH sat idly by watching our good money go down the drain. No one seem to be brave enough to pull the plug on that venture. 9M-MPD was 'repossesed' easily as it was in Malaysia for maintenance. The other two, which were reregistered as Saudi aircraft is still stuck on the ground in Jeddah, and attempts to bring the aircraft home has failed misrably. It was one of my saddest moment in MH watching this take place as those who pushed for the lease program moved on to other things, and walked around as if they have done a good job. 9M-MPQ was reconfigured following my efforts to make the Haj and Umrah more economically feasible. 9M-MPD was also reconfigured into similar seating arrangement so it was a happy accident for MH to use the aircraft for the Haj. The three b747s belongs to PMB, which is a Khazanah concern, which means theMalaysian taxpayer takes a direct hit in the nose for someone else's folly. I hope this will not be swept under the carpet. Those in charge must be made to pay heavily for their utter negligence. I'd lke to say more but I worry as we Malaysians have a tendency to shoot the messenger.
  19. Interesting Stuff.... http://weechookeong.wordpress.com/2011/11/04/hutang-alwafeer-air-lebih-dari-rm60-juta/
  20. I feel better throwing stones without hiding my hands. For that reason I have many "Brave Friends" who will not want to be seen at the same table with me. Which means that friends who do are real friends.
  21. The people who engineered this deal are still there in MAS, untouched.
  22. 1st aircraft lease agreement signed aug 18, aircraft delivered aug 20, second signed oct 20, aircraft delivered aug 21, third signed nov 2, delivered same day. Wow, magic. Man the stories I can tell..........the people involved must either be stupid or damn smart.....
  23. Something about Al Wafeer is out and PM has given a written reply, short and sweet, which i know came from the same liars in MAS. Apparently the question came from YB Wee, an Independent MP who coincidently rides a Harley Davidson almost similar to what I ride. Coincident.....?
