  1. Here's hoping they do not get squeezed by the monopolistic behemoths as the Eagle tries to spread its wings in the next few days. There's plenty of unused traffic rights between Saudi and Malaysia, and it will be a shame if this bird cannot get any. And the challenges are so great just a slight nudge will be more than sufficient to unbalance them. Goooood Luck.
  2. Malaysian Authorities put a rule that Chinese carriers cannot pick up Malaysian pax on Charter Flights. China retaliated by enforcing the same on Malaysian carriers. Both countries lose. But Malaysia lose more because we need Chinese money more than China need Malaysian money. SIGH........
  3. They must know something good. Total Malaysian Umrah market is RM270 million ( air transport segment ). With MH, SV, EK, Qatar, RBA to fight it out. These legacies have sufficient battle funds to play with prices on the route. AOC only allows you to operate aircraft, but its not the permit that allows an organisation to conduct business. Strictly speaking, AOC is essentially a DCA matter. The ASL/ASP is MoT's prerogative. I really hope this start-up will not be 'victimised' by the incumbent behemoths.....
  4. Both B744s sitting proudly in Al Wafeer colors in SZB. Goooooood Luck guys....all the best.....
  5. In 1998 I caught an Australian Pilot who was employed by MH after successfully going through the interview process. During training he encountered some problems, not handling but more on flight management and he was sent tomy office for counselling. I discovered that in his 20 years flying 'career' he was endorsed on too many aircraft, almost 2-3 types a year which made me curious. Most of his flying activities were in the Pacific ( Fiji, Marshall Islands etc ) and the Carribean, and records were hard to find. However on scrutinising his logbooks I found sufficient irregularities that gave me confidence to kick him out, so I advised HR to do so. He left peacefully, and later, on his return to Australia, I was informed that the Aussie Police raided his house and found all sorts of certificates and rubber stamps bearing the insignias of various aviation authorities. He eventually was charged and went to jail. This kind of falsification of Pilots' documents although not widespread, is not uncommon. With increased automation, both in aircraft and environment, flying has become easy, the trend is more towards scenario management rather than dexterity in manhandling the aircraft. It is not inconcievable for someone with slightly above average intelligence after spending time playing flight simulators, to be trained to fly a B777 or A330 directly as P2, and later, after a couple of years, be P1 and operate the jetliner with sufficient competency from take=off to landing. Basic training now is slowly becoming irrelevant as in about 20-30 years, airliners will have all sorts of flight envelop protection that 'consequent misbehaviour' of flying physics can be nullified. But the Indian scenario takes the cake.
  6. Workforce already got their backs against the wall. Not much by way of negotiation as they have no choice. Management's got this well sewn up I hope. And have in them some compassion for the staff. Staff was never the problem. It was Leadership that's been wanting.
  7. Aaaa....Masholidays.....place run by an ex auditor/accountant who was extended even after retirement and has absolutely no experience handling business clientele ever in her life..... One of the many personnel inconstancies of MH failure root cause.....
  8. Some of those routes were put in place by vested interest, despite fierce opposition internally by people who know better. The DMM ops is a classic case of driving in the dark at top speed with headlights off. Its incredible how blatant such stupidity was. Even those who saw it happened can only look in disbelief..... The person/s who pushed for the decision to do it is still holding a high position in MH, and will continue to contribute more damage. These people and many more like them are TF's assets because, the more they contribute to the foul-up, the more powerful TF's case in showing that its only AK that will save the day...... The few who opposed such decisions are now sitting in frustration. How to have a permanent fix like dis......
  9. Sapphire to MH staff means plainly as So-fired........
  10. RM900 million profit with 12 aircraft operation? OR RM900 million profit with 12 aircraft and the 40 belonging to the new airline? Quite magical.
  11. Rosak Lagi this morning. More delays. Well Done MH. You guys have truly shafted the Pilgrims this year.
  12. Bro Albert, cakap baik baik sikit..... MAS is our treasure, its not trash. Despite its trials and tribulations and being done in by the dishonest and the incompetent, operationally its great. The Flight crew has done an amazing job keeping a safety record that even those down South envies. Our Cabin crew, despite being shafted by the Union on one side, the Management on the other, are still the best around. Technical Engineering is great, and so are many other support staff. When you shoot, please aim your bullets properly, take care not to cause collateral damage. There are more good people than bad people in there. Its not that difficult to turn MH around. And there are many right people who can do it.
  13. Case may be weak, but in the light of no opposition from the Pilot in court, the Lion Air Lawyers plainly took candy from a baby.....
  14. What do you guys reckon insofar as the staffing requirements of the new Premium Regional Airline be? 40 + 738s running domestic and premium routes will require how many people? MH International will then become 50% of original size. Does it mean nearly an equal percentage of staff will be redundant? Does it mean retrenchment, MSS or VSS? Do you guys think that the new airline will be rehiring the MH redundant staff on different T&C? With the CCF in place, would it not make more sense for Mh Regional to operate A320, which hints at MH taking over AK's undelivered orders? Single a/c type means plenty of savings with economies of scale kicking in, common spares pooling, common crewing and training requirements? I think there are a few very clever people doing some very clever work in there, which may eventually benefit the Nation in a very small way, and possibly themselves in a big way. There has been a number of fly high profit followed quickly by crash and burn cycles since Tajudin's takeover. There has been so many turn around programs that MH actually turned around its losses to short term profit then turned around again into long term losses. Tajudi took over, airline showed small time profit, followed by big time loss. The came Tan Sri Mohd Nor, with WUA, and MH turned around into the black before Dato' Fuaad bled red. Idris then came in, turned around into black then clueless Tengku Azmil steered it into red. Now we have this. With every turn around program the airline gets smaller and smaller. Now it will be split. Rather confusing for a simpleton like me who looks at profits simply by taking revenue less cost. Some of the comments here are so intelligent it makes the MH Management look like schoolboys. Let's lighten up the mood; In the near future Brain transplants have become common place, and people can go to a Brain Shop to get a new Brain. So this guy went to a Brain shop to get a new one, and he looked at the brains for sale on display. There were various prices from cheap to frightfully expensive. He looked at the cheap ones: " How come these ones are cheap, who does it belong to? " " Emirates and SQ Managements' brains " the salesman said. He walked around and saw the Premium selection, brains displayed in gold plated containers, with spotlights and all. " WoW. These ones are really expensive. How come ? " The salsman said " Of course, its expensive. Pristine condition brains belonging to Mh Management. Seldom Used....." Ok. Now awaiting serious responses......
  15. Some guys are really teflon coated.....s#1t don't stick....
  16. Now TF is calling for truce when Kantoi Belit over the MAHB spat. But he is really good and this is what its all about. the ability to push and knowing the ability to pull back without admitting defeat. Or having to apologise. Or admitting a mistake but denying liability. I can only look in admiration.
  17. AAX will get SYD. Sooner than you think. Interesting things will be announced in a few hours......
  18. Tomorrow will be an extremely interesting day for MAS, its employees, and all interested parties......
  19. FY has lower cost? Most definitely. B738 maintenance piggybacked on MH. Ground staff outside KL mostly piggybacked as well. Simulator and training arrangement also piggybacked. I really wonder under whose books are the actual cost for the B738. If its not monkey business, there must be donkey business going on. Malaysian Aviation is actually in shambles. Not just the airlines, but also in GA. Check out how many foreign registered business jets are doing business here. And how many privately owned Bizjets doing teksi-sapu bisiness. Minister of Aviation in open conflict with the airport operator. CCF. "So-fired" premium airlines. Chatter-Ham. Hancur.
  20. That question is for Danny, AJ, Tony and the whole circus to answer.
  21. Q 1) Non Disclosure Agreement Q 2) 12F 442Y. TH decides. Based generally on price of Haj package taken Q 3) Agreed Menu as approved by Tabung Haji. Includes Menu Appraisal & Food Tasting Q 4) Yes. Q 5) Only for Madinah flights due to Hotel Availibility. Jedda is OK for all religion. Q 6) Yes its Halal. Of course there are elements inside Mh who are extremely shortsighted ( who lose money doing their own thing ) and want to make a killing but on my watch this never happened. Sorry, Raw Numbers are not the business of bystanders, but trust me, we have not lost money since the first day I got the contract back from AK in 2003, and the MH Haj product is definitely the BEST IN THE WORLD.
  22. May those who played a role in all this rot in hell. This years' delay is more than all the delays put together in the past 7 years when it was under my watch. The Haj can never be run efficiently when it depends on a process-driven operation. There must always be someone who is Responsible to do it, Authorised to run it, and Accountable for it. There will always be delays that are unavoidable, but its the corrective actions that follows that makes a difference between a slipshod and a well run operation.
  23. SAEGA, 2-3 years? More like 2 - 3 months. If only you knew. A real Saga........
  24. Oh God AJ, is there a need to say that? She was invited, parachuted in, landed in the combat zone, don't know what to do, got shot once and died straight away. Didn't last a day..... Not worth a mention really.
