  1. Most of the folks you mentioned fly on SQ. Typically, only the very senior civil servants on official duties end up in MH F.
  2. Also, the MH BS on the 350s have more room than the QR Qsuites. I think the MH BS can be one of the best business class out there. Just like BAs F!
  3. Nope. China Eastern did it first with its A350. And of course, there is also BAs F is one of the worlds best biz class.
  4. Not exactly. There were two separate things mentioned during the press conference. Some media chose to report only either one.
  5. And due to the changes in schedules following the new Northern Winter timetable, the same aircraft from MEL can no longer operate the next service to MEL. So, at times BI have to sub the service with the A320 NEOs. And that too whilst still operating the military charters from SIN to ROK vv using 788 (non-stop) or 320s (via DRW).
  6. The Hi Fly 343 is still operating the MEL services. The engine issues with the 788 certainly has caused a delay in the crew bunk installation. I think -DLC left for PVG a few days/ a week or so ago, and -DLA has not flown in a while.
  7. The BBC reported the ambulance left the scene with no sirens and no flashing lights. Ominous signs.
  8. They have a shiny new fleet of 320neos and a fifth 788. There was always some slack in the system even when BI only had 4 788s, which was why u see the 788 being deployed to KUL, SIN, HKG and MNL albeit on non consistent basis. And now there is the sub aircraft from HiFly too.
  9. This is totally karma for messing up my pre-selected preferred seat on my BKK flight 2 weeks ago. If only MH honoured it like any good airline, it wouldnt be such a dangerous airline to fly with.
  10. But the crew rest fitting was delayed due to the engine issue. For a while, 2 788s sat on the ground in BWN, one in the hanger with one engine and the other outside engineless.
  11. So does BI. Had to lease a Hi-Fly 343 for its MEL services.
  12. Nobody captured the Brunei 762 a few days ago at AOR?
  13. I think it is correct. He said by Q1-19. He didnt say in Q1-19. There are two opportunities to make the presentation: Nov-18 or Jan-19 and either would qualify as by Q1-19.
  14. Not sure about CX but for MH, if one is travelling with infant, the normally unavailable bassinet seat will be shown as available (if not already assigned) during seat selection - but cant recall if this is a free selection or what fee is charged.
  15. Is that weekly or daily? If weekly - which I think it was meant to be, the 332 fro CGK could be a daily affair, hence 7x 332. And for BKK, it varies where you may have 333 on Wed, Thu, Fri and Sun - although these may be randomly sub. by the 332 on certain days or weeks. And on certain weeks, the 333 is changed back to the 738, especially the Wed service.
  16. Hence, if you want to time-travel, fly on SQ.
  17. Usually thse days, 773 for the day flight and 77W for the evening one. That said, this is TG. So, at certain times, the 77W may be replaced by the 359, and not unusual too for the 744 to make a cameo for either flight. The 787 has also done the same in the past. So, expect the 773 (normal or ER versions), but otherwise, could be any widebody really.
  18. Haha. I second that. BKI may be perceived to be pricey that normal but I bagged a RM183/sector for KUL-BKI vv two weeks ago for travel in mid Oct. And this was available for a few flights during the day and across several days across several weeks. Obviously, it didnt stay at that pricing level that long because MH needs higher RASK and yields. I thought we all want it to be profitable.
  19. I dont know why some people continuously expect MH to fight AK. To a non insignificant portion of the market, AK is not even an option.
  20. Rescue flights in lieu of KIX flights.
  21. Its thanks to AK group with its mostly multiple daily flights to all the various regional destinations.
  22. 6 days seemed to be a major fault like requiring an engine change.
