  1. The 739ER's can appear on any route but KTM, DPS OD305/306, TPE and HAN all see them regular. PER is just a lottery...OD151/152 is currently scheduled to be a 739. This week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday it was a 739 but today it was an ETDO 738, there's no rhyme or logical with OD.
  2. Why are people so quick to suggest that MH might be considering replacing its A333 fleet? -MTA was only delivered in 2011 and these are A330-323X's so a lot more capable that people seemingly give them credit for. I believe only 2-3 of these frames are leased whilst rest are owned. Sounds like these ex AB A332 will have the old style dated interiors - overhead bins etc like -XAA had. Good for MH, but kinda sad they did go the Etihad option.
  3. It's good too see nothing has changed at Malindo. In the past hour I've received two seperate emails from my travel agent advising of flight cancellations. OD2102 KL-Penang on the 30/10 and OD155 KL-Perth on the 13/11 have both been cancelled. Alternate flights have been offered which involved an extended layover at KLIA and cutting my holiday short on the way home and put on the day-flight back to PER. As a loyal OD FF, really getting fed up of being jerked around. OD151/152 has been permanently upgraded to a B739ER too, but we've already seen a couple of B738 substitutions.
  4. Any updates on whether these lease acquisitions are still taking place?
  5. Guessing that means Melbourne, Tokyo and Jeddah flights are off the table now then. Would imagine KUL-MEL would be pushing the range limits of a B739ER. Interesting tho as QF doing SYD-DPS with a B738.
  6. She hasn't flown since April...awaiting 'parts' which I'm reliably informed is a flap assembly, but I suspect other parts have since been removed since. Last time I saw -LNL, she had all fuselage panels missing and plastic covering them. Not sure why it takes so long to get her back airworthy, you'd think you'd have one of your most capable aircraft flying not grounded. There was talk about her in another thread on her the past few days.
  7. B737MAX specs and performance related data have been quietly removed from the August edition of 'MalindoMag'. Chandran needs a new bio image now without the MAX model sitting on his desk...
  8. The 900ER flies further think the difference is somewhere between 300-400kms with obviously a higher playload. I also believe that OD's B739ER's have a higher thrust output than their B738's...26kN vs 27-28kN I think. That said I don't think all their B738's have the same thrust output. I believe this is the reason B739ER's operate KTM flights. Problem with the arvo PER flight is the high ambient temps this affects and reduces the thrust output. B738's operate payload restricted when its 40+ degrees. A full B738 flight and baggage needs to be offloaded.
  9. Perth goes back to double daily B738 flights I believe. Be interesting in summer for the arvo flights when temps are in excess of 40oC, at least OD can put on B739ER's.
  10. Cheers @Mr.Bandit is LNL still parked in a non flight worthy condition? Still can't believe it take 4 months for parts to arrive...
  11. @RobK...LRD is parked opposite gate B6 at KLIA with her engines covered over and LRF alongside with her engines uncovered. Such a waste! 900ER -LNL which had several fuselage and flap assembly pieces missing is no longer parked opposite B2, not sure where she's been moved too, but she's definitely not active.
  12. Malindo's first A333 on the production line. https://www.instagram.com/p/BWu_nAsnNPK/
  13. -LRD operated a few OD161/162 rotations to DAC towards the end of June/start of July. Malindo is still clearly 'overstaffed' with aircraft for their current network.
  14. Speaking of Scoot, pics are appearing of their first ex TR livered A320SL in full colours...9V-TRN, doesn't look as good as I'd expected it too.
  15. There was a link posted at the time when they were granted approval for MEL A330 flights, the seat count in Y was slightly higher than a D7 A333. From memory the other destinations were JED and NRT for the 3 birds.
  16. Thanks Captain and congrats on your new command too. Has anyone been able to visually confirm whether -LNC and -LND have been fitted with IFE? Charlie is still operating regional flights and Delta has been operating long EDTO sectors?
  17. Has OD dropped their KUL-AMD-JED-AMD-KUL OD267/268 rotations? Last flight appears to of arrived into KL on 2/7.
  18. Hardly surprising news. The writing was on the wall when the 4th MAX went to Lion Air, with hastily changed last minute titles. OD's 3 MAX -LRF is still yet to enter service since delivery. What is even more surprising is that OD continue to deploy a MAX on the OD801/802 rotation even after all the complaints. Be interesting to see if any PK aircraft transfer across to OD to fill the gap although from my recent observations OD seem to have surplus aircraft for their current network and can seemingly afford to have aircraft parked up for months at a time.
  19. Whilst I take these articles with a pinch of salt I wonder if their was fog forecast in BNE. Has also occurred in Perth when temps are high in the summer months, bags get off-loaded as the B738's are at their performance limitations with a decent load in the cabin. Are OD still getting the 6 Indo Batik Air B739's? Things seem to of fine quiet. http://www.9news.com.au/national/2017/07/16/16/21/malinda-air-leaves-almost-entire-flights-luggage-behind-in-bali
  20. Cheers @Raj, I wasn't aware they started the route, thought it was CXLD before it began.
  21. LNY is currently airborne operating OD817 PEN-SIN, is this a recently introduced service?
  22. She's finally just left Delhi as MXD132D. Wonder if the replacement engine came of -LNL which I believe is still parked languishing at KL.
  23. Well over 2 weeks later and -LNF still hasn't flown. OD are clearly have a surplus of aircraft.
  24. No doubt in response to Silkair's proposed SIN-BME flights. Would think it'd have to be DPS-BME operated by QZ or XT, either way it's bound to attract plenty of publicity.
  25. Trust me it sure is, I'm currently wearing a hoodie and trackies with the heater on...
