  1. Hi, S V,

There are scheduled bus from Narita Airport to the museum, but the schedule is irregular. For example the first bus leaves airport at 9:35am, but the second one is not expected until 11:35am. However you can expect the bus to be where it should be on the dot. Cost 210 yen.

Inside the museum there is small souvenir shop selling some airline memorabilia, and a counter selling entrace tickets for the indoor exhibit. If you are here for the outside exhibit or just plane-spotting for runway 34L arrival, you may not need to pay.

The centre piece of the indoor exhibit.

An overview of the Narita International Airport at level 2.

Level 4 houses a restaurant while level 5 is the enclosed observation deck. They also have some old ATC stuff on display there.

Overall it's a good place to visit and if you are spotting runway 34L arrival in the morning. In the afternoon you may have to move to the 2 parks on the other side of the runway due to lighting condition.

For further information can refer these website that I had visited prior to the trip.

  2. Hi guys,

Wanted to share some photos of my recent visit to the Museum of Aeronautical Science, Narita. Weather was bad so pardon the photo quality.

I took the first bus to the museum at 9:35 am and arrived about 15 mins later. The museum opens from 10 am to 5 pm, with last admission at 4:30 pm. Admission cost is 500 yen for adults. There are 5 levels plus an outdoor exhibit area. The first 2 levels houses mainly B747 exhibits. The 3rd level is an outdoor photograph area. The 4th is a restaurant while the 5th level is a closed deck overseeing the cargo apron of Narita airport.

  3. For Sabah the viking still needs to serve Kudat-Sandakan and also Kota Kinabalu to Lawas, while the atr is needed for the lahad datu leg as the airport doesnt support jet operation and there's certain demand for sdk to tawau on atr now they cut off kk-sdk+twu wonder how's the sdk-twu tag along is still flying or also terminated.

BKI - KUD - SDK still twice weekly? They didn't mention terminating TWU -SDK explicitly right since this route is mainly cater to businesses, and usually full.

Nope.. you can use the MAS app on ios. I did a dummy for Mid January its rm98 to KUD and rm86 from KUD.. maybe the costly ones are those through SDK.

I don't think it's true that it would cost RM500 for this route. Can easily charter a MPV for that price here.

  4. It could be both, a better package plus problems in the current company.

However I thought I read somewhere that Ryanair is also having problem with large number of their pilot leaving en-mass, resulting in flight cancellation?

  5. Beside novelty value, for reasons airline order latest airplane and engine. If there isn't significant advantages, Boeing or Airbus would not have spent so much in R&D and introduce next generation aircraft and engine.

MAB lease old A332 is like someone preferred used car than brand new.

I hope you are not suggesting that they come up with "face-lift" every year like the automotive industry. :D

  6. OD ife content is a hit or miss in terms of entertainment movie and audio content. While interface is good, they are reported to be lowest storage space specs to be fitted and is meant more for audio n video on demand LCC. Hence very few movie and tv show title and no audio catalogue.

Better than not available at all. Wonder how's their in-flight WiFi? AK seems to be reintroducing their on-board WiFi as at least 3 of 4 flights I took recently have WiFi available.

"When we buy Boeing planes we are turning MAS into a competitive airline. When other airlines have dreamliners, we must also have dreamliners."

    Isn't that a dejavu? Hahahahahaha.

When our competitor have the A380, we must also have the A380. :D
