Usually the squawk number is given randomly by the air traffic controller or set by the radar system? -

saw this bird, ZK-MVA on T-WMSA3 at 0930 U.T.C. Delivered on 31.10.2012. Could be on his delivery flight from Toulouse to New Zealand. An ATR-72-600 equiped with transponder.

where is the antenna for transponder's signal transmission is located on the aircraft?

now, we have quite a good radar coverage for Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore over FR24. for ATC, we have WMKP, WSSS & WSSL coverage over LiveATC. For the ATC coverage, even the transmission from the Control Tower also can be heard, not to mention the aircraft that flying at the high altitude. Anybody have ideas what type/model/brand they use for the receiver? They use high gain antenna, or they all staying next to the airport?

where is your friend get the high-gain antenna? What is the model number? from the spec of micro, it is using a coaxial cable, can the mico be connected to the tv antenna on the roof to get better coverage?
