  1. Generally, you will come in for the approach with higher pitch, speed will be so much faster then usual. You almost don't have to flare on touchdown because of your attitude. Slats Flaps Control Computer
  2. Nah, not really. They're all in a cage, and I'm quite sure it's a pretty strong cage. Wiring and all are concealed down there in the cargo hold. Furthermore, there were lotz of other cargo pallets around the rhino cage so it would actually make it impossible for them to roam around if ever they were to escape.
  3. Pax didn't even notice it I suppose, nobody said anything. We did discuss about the rhinos, how if they were to break out of their cage. We wouldn't be able to do anything anyway if something were to happen down there. The first jolt was felt right after selecting gears up. Capt and I looked at each other, giving the "what in the world was that" look, and laughed. It did continue on and off during flight. We could understand, they were tired and the sound of the engines and the dark cold cargo compartment, would definitely stress them up.
  4. I've carried baby rhinos once from KUL to CAN, originally from CPT. The rhinos woke up and even before they arrived at their destination and were restless thru out the flight. We could even hear loud banging noises coming from the cargo hold.
  5. Just came back from PER this morning, did MH126. According to cabin crew, pax from D7 transfered to MH was having a jolly good time in EY. Flight was almost full, half of them was D7 pax I guess. Thanks D7 for your business! OT, btw, AK 320's etops rated?
  6. Yeap, the Chief has to pay. Quite a pity since it's not their fault. That is why halfway during flight, if you decide to sleep they'll sometimes collect the PMP from you. Have heard stories of PMP's being offloaded so many times.
  7. If I'm not mistaken, there's an SD slot and also a USB port. I have no idea if you'll be able to update the movies on your own or even charge it if you happen to offload it. Btw, don't bring it down la, the Chief has to fork out his/her own money to pay back for the missing PMP's. And I heard it's not that cheap either!
  8. Start your career locally, I feel that it's better that way. Most guys in the Middle East only left Malaysia after gaining lotz of flying hours here. No doubt money is great there, but do remember you have no EPF so you just got to be discipline enough to save up. Cadetship is the best way in, either way (MAS or AK) you'll be bonded for 15 years. Study hard for your SPM and see where the road takes you after that. Just my two cents
  9. Brennan, MKW taken on 4th of October? That was me on the right hand seat Capt and I both waved at your lens as we passed by, and you had to close the canopy of one of the training aircraft since both pilots were already strapped in and halfway taxing. Nice pictures btw
  10. If I'm not mistaken, MAS A330 MKR or MKS has no strobes. I think it's MKR
  11. Nobody took MH65 from ICN yesterday??
  12. It's fabric, and if you see properly, the red actually has 2 tones, 1 lighter and the other darker. Saw it yesterday when I flew MKF to manila. Didn't take any pictures tho, I left my camera at home. Other than that, the new carpet is actually nice to walk on, but abit slippery.
  13. Not when you have deployed the reversers, once you deploy them you're committed. If you realize you're not going to make it, go around...
  14. It's the same too when we wait behind another aircraft, especially at the holding point. The smell gets quite strong in the cockpit.
  15. BNE is seasonal. Up to the 14th of this month only I think for the 330. Haha you forgot to mention a few other 'good' nightstops ie. DEL, BOM, KHI, CMB just to name a few. Would prefer the orient routes tho. Cheers
  16. Aih Capt, Capt... no comment... That's why I always finish my paper work fast! So that I can join, you looking at the girls.
  17. A330!! As I'm one of the mentioned 'workers', i love this aircraft. Easy to fly, an aircraft which reduces your workload alot. Lotz of automation. Auto trimming! Auto thrust with non movable thrust levers, dark cockpit concept, ECAM!! Just to name a few... What's there not to like about the bus? Btw, don't you guys just love her when she tip toes as she lands? Beautiful! Cheers
  18. The best part, when you walk to the aircraft, you would never miss out on the IFS Flaming red!!
  19. Yeap, black suit with blue shirt and red tie. In my opinion, the red on the kebaya is abit too strong for the eyes
  20. Good one Can actually act as my backup log book in case I lose mine Wonder how long it would take me to fill up my 737 multiple sectors in there. Cheers
  21. Only managed to snap these few shots, was busy with preflight checks and all earlier. We pushed back 30 mins early, if not I would have lotz of time to take more pictures. Reflection of MKW MH57 parked at bay 18 at Chubu Centrair International Airport Traffic Staff Almost all of them The whole lot that sent us off Sayonara Nagoya!!
  22. Just came back from NGO yesterday noon. Was lucky enough to have been rostered to fly the very last flight out of NGO. Departed NGO 30 mins early as there were only 34 pax onboard. Strangely, for the last few days flight to NGO was quite full. Sad times for everyone, especially the ground staffs. Some cried as we closed the doors, and as we pushed back all MAS NGO staffs were on the tarmac waving and saying their last goodbye. Very sad indeed. Got a few pictures of them waving, will post it up soon. Cheers
  23. Spoilt for choices now huh Hazman. No worries yea, there's no right or wrong decision to this. It depends on what you want right now. Half of my batchmates were degree holders, half were SPM holders. Like what Azuddin said, life as a pilot is very fragile. Anything can happen, so you must take good care of yourself. The road to becoming one is not an easy path, I'm sure everyone would agree with that. It's a very steep learning curve and what you're about to learn in flying school is totally different than what you have learned in high school. You have so much things to learn in a very short span of time so you must work hard and most importantly, it's something that you really really want and give your full attention to it. I've seen people dropping out halfway because they cannot cope. Whatever it is, make your decision wisely, take some time to think about it. And as of today, I'm quite happy with the decision I made almost 4 years ago Cheers!
  24. Got time don't worry. I know a few people who already did.
