  6. USAF C-17A 00-0172 arrived 15.40hrs ex: Townsville (QLD) as 'Reach 410' and departed to Diego Garcia (FJDG) at 18.27hrs as same. Checking thru my notes earlier today and was suprised to note that Perth has recieved 33 different visiting C-17 aircraft from when the first one visited way back in 2001. For the record we've had 30 USAF, 2 RAF, and 1 Canadian visit; only 3 USAF C-17s visited thus far have only visited more than once. Great photographs Min considering the weather here in Perth. Cheers Greg
  7. Hi All, Just to put you all in the picture today's weather was atrocious! we had it all...hail, rain, sunshine, and strong winds the only things missing were the thunder & lightning. That said only the serious die hards were out in yesterday's weather to catch a glimpse of an unexpected visitor to Perth Airport. Flight EK412 from Dubai to Sydney diverted to Perth after a female passenger was treated on board having had a suspected stroke, she was treated in-flight by two doctors who were passengers and treated the lady upon arriving in Perth. This flight was previously 6 hours late leaving Dubai after onboard electrical problems delayed the aircraft. This is only the second A380 to visit Perth, the previous being a Qantas aircraft VH-0QA on a promotional visit. Attached is a selection of my photographs taken from yesterday alongside many others who were also at the airport yesterday. Hopefully some different angles from Ian's earlier photos. Qantas A330-202 VH-EBJ 'One World' titles Qantas A330-202 VH-EBI Singapore Airlines A330-343E 9V-STB Malaysia Airlines B777-2H6 (ER) 9M-MRP Virgin Blue Emb-190 VH-ZPK Qantas Link B717-231 VH-NXO Qantas 737-838 (W) VH-VXB 'Yananyi Dreaming' Emirates A380-861 A6-EDE Enjoy!

  9. Tuan Khiem, Xin Chao, many thanks for your reply! looking forward very much to visiting Vietnam. Will contact you when we formalize our trip details. Regards Greg
  10. Hi Pieter & all, Could anyone who has visited Vietnam advise: Best Hotels or accommodation to stay at near airport. Best means of getting around the airport to spot & photograph. How many days needed. Best time of year to visit etc. Any 'other' aircraft museums or similiar worth seeing. Having seen some of the pictures posted on the forum, it is now on our radar of places to consider visiting. Cheers Greg
  11. MIR...Good work mate! Love the black & white nose on shot. Good to see all angles covered yet again. Cheers Greg
  12. Tuesday 4th August 2009 Air Charter Express DC-8:62AF 9G-AED c/n 46162 arrived ex: Melbourne at 11.50hrs as flight 'ACE803'horse charter. (1st visit to Perth) The weather was fine although a fire to the north west of the airport was blowing plumes of smoke into this area, thus the two approach shots are a bit smokey, and the last 3/4 rear shot passing has nice blue sky. Enjoy! Greg ]
  13. Great Picture Ian! Stuck at home gardening - Damn those weeds! Greg
  14. Hi all, Air Asia Indonesia's push into Australia started today with the airline's inaugural 1st flight arriving into Perth at 04.35hrs today as flight QZ8620. 17. Hi all, Got some more CVN-73 George Washington photos will add tommorrow taken from the air! Ian, I flew out with Howard, he in the back seat & me in the front! The pilot flew the Cessna 172 from the R/H seat so that we could do anti clockwise circuits around the ship. We were up for 1hr.15mins and photography was difficult due to the poor weather conditions and light! But made most of the opportunity as on-board visits were not possible. Cheers Greg
  18. USS George Washington CVN-73 sailed into West Australian waters at 9am on July 2nd for 4 days R&R before participating in Talisman Sabre an joint military excersise hosted every 2 years between the US armed forces (US Navy, US Marines, US Army )& Australia & New Zealand armed forces. I was fortunate enough to have over flown the carrier on Saturday 4th July, co-incidently 'American Independence Day' conducting numerous orbits around he ship. Here is a sample of what I got! The weather was a real hinderance with a huge cloud that just didnt want to go away, we circled for an 1hr & 15 mins and at times was frustrated with little or no light, nevertheless we got some reasonable shots and Im happy to share with you guys here today. The aircraft carrier is due to set sail midnight tonight 6.07.09, we hope they enjoyed their visit to Perth, West Australia. Enjoy Greg
  19. MIR & All, The aircraft arrived in Dubai at approx 19.00hrs (LT) 20/06 with a flight time of approx 13hrs.50mins, operating at FL100 for the duration as you mentioned being unpressurised. Great photo once again! Cheers Greg
  20. I would say NO! Most taxi drivers would not have a clue what your talking about. Your best bet is that someone in K/L reads this post before 21.06.09 and can meet you at an arranged point and take you there. Greg
