  1. A quick CNY Day 1 session. Weather that time was bearable to 'really really crappy' within 15mins when these arrived.
  2. Fantastic coverage Prestly. Kudos to you. :drinks: :friends:
  3. It has been a while since... Spotters in action. Spotting and posing at the same time with style. Regular traffic Always looking forward to have special livery planes from time to time.
  4. Hahahaha. Me not King of Subang. There are more others who are diligent, hardworking, dedicated and persistant to deserved this title. The below are contributed by SZB resident friends who wants to remain anonymous for everyone's benefits here. Credits are to them for these unique movements. RMAF Hawk going back to base. Indonesian Air Force C130 going for test flight after maintenance by AIROD. Looks like this Bell Geospace is back to SZB. But don't know for how long. Formerly PH-KZR. ANY guesses who is the new owner?
  5. Starting off 2018 with gloomy, wet and cool weather over SZB. Looking forward to better days and special traffic ahead. Raya 727s is still going strong. RMAF's A400. She still looks new for this one year young plane. Wonder at how many feet will the RMAF C130 crew flare for landing? Have not been photographing her for a long while. Firefly's own version of Negaraku livery. Wonder why they don't adopt the flag livery; like their sister carriers? Latest Firefly special livery, promoting the Fantasia Aqua Park in Jitra, Kedah This Embraer Phenon 300 is a regular visitor to SZB. Life Flight is one of many Australian's air ambulance services. Formerly Firefly aircraft, 9M-FIB, which wears the Fareeda's Head Scarves livery. Hope she sees better days ahead with NAM. This Embraer Lineage 1000 owned by Falcon Aviation Services, leaving wet SZB for drier LGK. Australia's Alliance Airlines' F100 special livery to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's first trans-Pacific flight from Oklahoma to Brisbane, with stops in Hawaii and Fiji. The aircraft was painted in Norwich(NWI, UK) and flown to Brisbane(BNE, AU) via Trabzon(TZX, TR), Al Ain(AAN, AE), Hyderabad(HYD, IN), Kuala Lumpur(SZB, MY), Kupang(KOE, ID), Townsville(TSV, AU), from 14-18 Jan.
  6. Greetings all and Happy New Year. May this 2018 brings more joyous spottings and great weather to everyone here. Let me start off this new 32L thread with some late evening 'cherry picking'. Looking forward to seeing your pictures here as the year goes along. MAC arrival from BKI Surprised to see this CX 744F lands at KUL. She was originaly bound for PEN from CGK. No idea what's her reason for this diversion. Probably due to weather in PEN. Classic Malaysia Airlines livery. Wonder why SQ always switch off their tail lights.
  7. The Bombardier crew was exceptionally friendly towards photograhers visiting the aircraft. One is able to gauge the size of the entrance door. What really caught our attention was the 'note' on the right side of the door. Not certifiec airworthy? The cabin crew monitor looks simple As like any new planes opened up to potential customers, there are quite a number of people. Looks quite spacious. You don't feel clutered eventhough there were quite a number of guest in the aircraft. The 20in Asile is Bombardier's standard width for a 3 - 2, E config. Quite wide I must say. The guest were be abled moved easily without much knocking on other guest.
  8. The battle for narrow-body supremacy has been ongoing for decades between Airbus and Boeing. News of airlines placing order in the double or triple digits for Boeing’s or Airbus’s aircrafts is a norm at any major airshows today. According to a Boeing Market Outlook 2016-2035 report, the demand for narrow-body aircrafts will almost doubled by 2035; mainly from Asia and the LCC market segment. In addition, technological advances in composites material and engine efficiency have aided many other narrow-body aircraft manufacturers to compete at a level playing field with the Big Boys for this lucrative market segment. One of them is Bombardier and their ‘market disruptor’ C Series. Formally launched in July 2008 at the Farnborough Airshow, they have about 360 aircrafts on order. Bombardier today has delivered a total of 19 aircrafts to Swiss and airBaltic, the CS100 and CS300 launch customers. They will be delivering Korean Air’s first CS300 and a first in the Asia region, in these few weeks. To further enhance their position, Bombardier has recently embarked on a two month C Series World Tour 2017 from their Mirabel home base. They will be showcasing their CS300 aircraft, C-FFDO, to 15 interested airlines at 13 major airports. Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Air China, China Southern, West Air, China Express, Lion Air, Sriwijaya Air, AirAsia, Bangkok Airlines, Thai, Air India, Royal Jordanian, Egypt Air, Royal Air Maroc. September 23 - Anchorage, Alaska, USA September 24 - Tokyo, Japan September 26 - Beijing, China September 27 - Shanghai, China September 28 - Guangzhou Baiyun, China September 29 - Chengdu Shuangliu, China October 1 - Jakarta, Indonesia October 2 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia October 3 - Don Mueang / Bangkok, Thailand October 5 - Indira Gandhi / Delhi, India October 6 - Cairo, Egypt October 9 - Amman, Jordan October 10 - Casablanca, Morocco October 12 - Mirabel, Quebec, Canada On 2nd October, at 2000, history was made as the first C Series landed in KUL from Jakarta. She departed the next day at 1645, to Bangkok Don Mueang. Although her stay was short, we were delighted to be given the opportunity to cover this short and momentous occasion. Early morning, 3rd Oct. Typical KLIA morning misty view. The CS300 parked at remote bay A14. She will be repositioned to Satellite Terminal at gate C16 once the morning widebody rush hour is over. There we already some activity at the aircraft by the time I got to the Obs Deck. Crew was in the cockpit and airstairs removed. Pushback should be soon. At about 0940, the CS300 pushed back. It was interesting to see that she taxied under her own power, following a Follow Me car, insted of being towed to gate C16. Her PW engines looked huge. Taxiing by the Main Terminal Building slowly under her own power behind a Follow Me car. From this side view, the CS300 looked more like a mashed up plane with a A320 vertical fin, a B787 nose and a B777 tail exhaust. Parked at gate C16, waiting to receive her guest between 1000 until 1430. Invited guest need to register at Bombardier counter, setup in front of KLIA Premier Access, Level 5. There, we were given a temporary Airport Pass as well as a Bombardier's Black Tag. Without this Black Tag, guest were not allowed to enter the aircraft. This was a good move by Bombardier as they are abel to identify guest from airport staffs. After we have completed the necessary registration and security check, we were excorted in the airside by KLIA staffs to a waiting bus just beneath the aerotrain tracks. The bus took us to a VIP holding lounge just beneath gate C16. In there, guest were treated with light refreshment before entereing the aircraft. The catering service was served by MAS Awana Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines. Bombardier's C Series marketing brochure. Interestingly, they customize their brochures according to the airports they visited. This would enable potential clients to see the range the C Series can offer from homebase with max load and max pax. The Aircraft - To Be Continued...
  9.  Just for laughs. Reminds me of this Bloomberg Businessweek Magazine cover in February 2012. It had, in a way, created some controversy back then in the business community.
  10. Earlier of the week, one of two RTAF's Sukhoi Superjet 100 came over for a few days stay. I must say it is rather small. As a comparison, its lenght is similar to a Bombardier Global Express or Embraer E170, ~30m.
  11. One of the last image of Malindo/Batik Malaysia's first Max 8 (9M-LRC), arriving into SZB under the airline brand and callsign on 28/8. She departed SZB to CGK on 12/9 as PK-LQK, Lion Air's reg without the word 'Lion' on her.
  12. 9M-LRC came into SZB on 28/8 Departed SZB on the 12/9 as PK-LQK
  13. Had a bit of time to do some editing. Some are older shots and some are today's. PH-KBX, Gov of the Netherlands, F70 retired earlier in February. She is sold to Alliance Airlines as VH-KBX, a VIP charter aircraft. Let's celebrate the community spirit. US NAVY - Commander 'Rocks'. A The Rock wannabe? N465MC, one of for -400 pax config for Atlas Air. Formerly operated by JAL. Wonder why wasn't this painted to the 'Brown' pax version. Not sure why this -500 is here. Delivery flight arrived early yesterday morning from Nagpur (NAG). Departed today at 1300 for DPS. Callsign, Southern Cross 1737. Air New Zealand Link operated by Mount Cook Airline Last 5-digit number for the Bravo rego on this ERJ-135. Owned by Executive Aviation Taiwan Uncommon to see this 762 in broad daylight. Operating to CGK this morning as Raya Express 1021. Recently fitted with ADSB, she is now trackable in FR24 Sudden wind gush before landing.
  14. Thank you William for showing us around. Bye Bye Siti The main reason for the short trip. The forgotten 741s, soon to be removed within the next few months. 5U-ACF. A Boeing 747SR-146B. Once flown by Japan Airlines as JA8164. You would able to know that's a Japanese owned plane when you see their Kanji words at the doors/panels. Once considered a powerful engine of their time, this PW JT9D is left decayed, waiting to be reused as tin cans The oldest of the three 741s. This Boeing 747-121(SF), S2-AFA, was flown by Pan Am as N743PA. Manufactured as line #24, she still has the original six upper deck windows.
  15. You dont often get 4 RMAF A400Ms taxying together. Weather was misty when they departed. Doing their sorties on Merdeka Day.
  16. Feeding the mosquitoes while capturing these yesterday night.
  17. You mean this aircraft? That was B-KPF. It was painted in "Asia's World City" special colours until Mar 2014. The current green plane is B-KPB, painted in 'Spirit of Hong Kong'
  18. Hi Kingsley. You may refer the SYD spotting locations at the link below. You may need to drive or take a bus. http://www.spotterguide.net/index.php/planespotting/oceania/australia/sydney-syd-yssy/
  19. A view from inside the plane. When leaving SYD
  20. The from other side with flynas sticker.
  21. Recent Sydney trip in Winter The below were taken from HARS (Historical Aircraft Restoration Soceity Inc) at Illawarra Regional Airport, Albion Park. Its a two hours drive from Sydney
  22. Yesterday's flight path. Since it had 10 hours of endurance, and flying towards easterly direction, we assume she might go BKI or KCH for a TnG. She turned back abeam Anambas Island and landed in SZB after abour an hour fourty five minutes of demo flight. On a side note. This L-100-30 Hercules of Libyan Air Cargo, 5A-DOO, has been around for quite sometime now in Airod. Only time will know her fate.
  23. Happy 12th Anniversary MW. Selamat Hari Raya. Happy Holidays.
