Singapore 777 lands at Auckland Airport with part of wing missing
Hardeep P. replied to Naim's topic in General Aviation
Yes it was a 777-300ER; I was flying the next day to London and and was wondering how come there were two SIA Planes- one parked at the gate and one on the tarmac. At least I know why now. -
I see. So fleet simplification with the A380, A330 and 737-800. sounds interesting! WHEN the 777-200ERs are pased out, I am sure Boeing will be quite keen on MAS to get the 777-x or 787.
-
what about the 747-8i. order 5-6 of them and for the 3rd London daily flight when it becomes operational and Melbourne and Sydney and even LAX. ANy thoughts?
-
Great. Thanks. It will be awesome to see MAS have the newer generation A330-300s but it will be better if they do get some 777-300ERs too or the newer generation 777-X.

Hi. So no special or new livery on the remaining B777-200ERs??? I find this very hard to believe that the remainder whether 15 or 10 B777-200ER will be on their way out so soon. MAS has not mentioned anything about widebody fleet renewal
-
Any idea when the MAS 777-200ER would get the new livery on them??
-
So no more 744 for MAS. How sad!! I think MAS should keep 2 just in case. Any idea what is the reliablity rate of the A380s?

MAS Current Fleet Withdrawal Thread

Any idea if Malaysia airlines still have the last few 747-400s or have they all left the fleet? Also any idea on the 777-200ER replacements? -

Mayb a couple of 747-8I, 777Ws and a couple of 787s.. That will be good.. The 747-8I can fly into LHR- The other one or two flights a day( Rumour MH might increase frequency to 4x daily) and to SYD, LAX and MELBOURNE.. Also AMSTERDAM MAS would operate both AIRBUS and BOEING...Airbus A330/A380 and Boeing 737-800/ 77W/787/747-8I I remmeber when my dad was head of S&D for SHELL Msia in the late 80s and 90s, they too operated a mixture of VOLVO and SCANIA trucks. Perhaps thats the way to go!!! -

Air New Zealand to drop Hong Kong to London service

Good day from Kiwiland.. I think ANZ is planning to fly to Mumbai and New Delhi as they have finally realised it has a big market. I think they are also planning to fly to another European city- Frankfurt is I am not mistaken. Many years ago ANZ use to operate their own metal to Frankfurt via LAX. ANZ is also planning to fly to Singapore/KL/Bangkok.. I think KLIA is trying to woo them to fly into KL. And also another stop will be MiddleEast- Maybe Abu Dhabi or Dubai!! Its all depends on when they r getting their 787 and whether 777-300er/777-200er has got capacity. -
Menzies. The cabin crew told us to complain. On that day coincidently EMirates B777-300er also had an engine malfunction. The B 777 for mas is around 17 yes old rite? Using RR engines. Time for mas to get a brand new fleet with b747-8i and 777-300er to completement the A380 and A330

On 17th August, our Flight MH132 was also delayed at Auckland for some 16 hours due to a fuel pump failure. Surprisingly, the replacement fuel pump had to be flown across the Tasman. Inspite of having a little baby, we did not get any hotel accomodation. Was just told at 3am original departure time was 12am, that we had to clear immigration and customs then pick our checked luggage and meet at d check in counter. When I reached the check in counter, all the cunning check in people were asking us to take the taxi to go home. I fought tirelessly for hotel accommodation. At 4am, my wife and I decided to just take the taxi Home. The delayed departure was at 4pm. I realized later that some of the mat salleh family all got a hotel across the road. We are definitely complaining, only thing we got was taxi trip and 30 dollars to spend. What is MAS up to?

Malaysia Airlines ponder longer range A330, to replace B777
Hardeep P. replied to JuliusWong's topic in General Aviation
I think MAS should follow Lufthansa and order a few 747-8Is as well as the 747-8F. What do you guys think? They probably can get these model by 2015. -
Hi guys, Funny enough. I stay near Whanupai Air base in Auckland and the other day I saw this RNZAF 757 plane with the weirdest noise and was going around and round. I told my wife, sumthing wasnt rite with that plane. True enough.... This was like Monday/Tuesday!!

Nice to see a new airline ordering the 747-8Is Any idea what airline made an order for the 15 747-8is in Paris air show? Any idea if Thai, Cathay and China Airlines will be ordering this planes too? What abt the Middle Eastern airliners- Qatar, Emirates, Gulf Air?
-
Well done Cornelis. Nice shots. Glad we met up. Rgds HARDEEP

Think MH will definately follow TG with both 747-8I and A380. Any more ASIAN airliners thinking of ordering the 747-8I? Probably CX, JL, CI? What happened to EK's plan for 747-8Is?

What's your favourite plane & airline?
Hardeep P. replied to Wilson Kook's topic in General Aviation
Hi. No worries.. Well, been reading alot abt the 747-8, its development and all. Agree with you its still not operational yet but with Boeings many years experience in the 747-400. the new 787 and now 747-8, its definately going to be a good plane. Maybe I am Boeing bias but some of the technical engineering reports i read abt the 747-8, shows its good! Hope this clarifies. The body of the 747-8 is much slicker too than the A380!! -
