  12. Here are some more photos of Orbis... But I am sorry for the blur photos coz my camera only have digital zoom capabilities so if I zoom the photo will become blur... There was quite a lot of planes at the terminal at that time 1 Orbis DC-10, 3 MH 737-400s, 1 AK 737-300, 1 AK A320 and I think 1 Gading Sari B737-200. Btw the one that crash landed the plane is still at the cargo apron, I think its the cargo Apron..... The It is a bit hard to see the A320 and B732 cause they are parked at are R1 Think gonna post the rest into Kuching Spotting thread hehe
  13. Can you spot something that is different with KIA today?
  14. you quite good points there. Now on the question why there isn't any foreign airlines coming into KCH.... well I guess put it this way. from what I heard basically it is hard for foreign airlines to get the landing rights into KCH. And I jst hope the government down here in Sarawak and the federal government will work hard together to get more foreign airlines to fly direct into KCH. Since MAS is not keen to do it, I believe other airlines should be given a chance. Silk Air and Batavia Air is thriving in KCH I believe. Late last year Silk Air added its frequency into KCH from 4x weekly to 5x weekly. Batavia Air is opeating its B737-200 into KCH. So I have my fingers crossed in hopes that the tourism minister here will talk to JQ to operate into KCH. Since they are offering Low fares I believe this will attract more people to come. Eco-tourism is also picking, I believe tourist who visits Sabah not only want to enjoy the beaches they want to understand more about the culture. In Kuching we offer a fair share of nice beaches, it is just that we are still no that well-known but we are gaining recognition. There are things that are offered down in here in KCH that KK knot offer. Kuching itself is rich with history and it is uniquely the blend of old and modern. Most of the historical building are very well preserved. So again there will be a fair share of tourist who wants to experience this but the problem is getting here is a hassle because there is not much connection.
  15. really moving to KLIA? awww... that is so sad SO MAS i leasing out their A330s is it?
  16. SYD-KCH was a really said story... there wasn't enough time for teh route to mature yet and MAS came up with the planned to scrapped all the long-haul routes. From what I see... I think MAS is a bit biased... sorry to say this but I am just pointing out what I think. First all when they mentioned abut the route Rationalisation plan. they said all long-haul flights or International flights will be operated out of KUL hence KCH-PER vv, SYD-KCH, FRA-KUL-KCH, KCH-PNK has all been suspended. And from my understanding KCH-PER has been very successful for at the beggining it was only a once weekly flight and soon it was upgraded to twice weekly flights. and from what I see all the BKI international routes are still going on. I just feel that this is a bit unfair to Kuchingites and Sarawakians on the whole. two short-lived route would be KCH-BPN and KCH-MEL vv. anyone has any idea why KA suspended their route to KCH?? is there any chance they will revive the route again direct non-stop I mean.
  17. I think the contractor who build teh airport ought to be sued
  18. Maybe the snake managed to slither away when the door opened. LOL hmmm.. could it be corruption?
  19. How come Sabah Air is taking over the route? FAX knot fly it anymore? not enough a/c?
  20. I hope STB and the Urban development Minister will also discuss with JQ it would be great to see more airlines serving KCH.
  21. Yes it is about Bloody time they seriously consider to revive this route I have NO IDEA what was the MAS manager thinking about when he scrapped that route I hope JQ will operate the route for the a/c used is the same as MH this will surely help to boost the tourism in Sarawak the Malaysian Government and Sarawak Government and Tourism Body should look into this matter seriously. Also it would be a good idea for JQ to expand the market further by introducing new routes like KCH-MEL vv and SYD-KCH vv. Just a thought
  22. wow expanding again... hopefully the LCCT will be better improved then
