  1. The timing is quite varied: (I hope you guys can read this. ) Flight No. Departing Arriving Day Departure Time Arrival Time D72712 Kuala Lumpur Perth 1, 2 01:00 07:50 D72712 Kuala Lumpur Perth 3, 5 23:00 05:50 D72716 Kuala Lumpur Perth 4 17:00 23:50 D72714 Kuala Lumpur Perth 7 08:00 14:50 D72713 Perth Kuala Lumpur 1, 2 09:05 14:05 D72713 Perth Kuala Lumpur 4, 6 07:05 12:05 D72717 Perth Kuala Lumpur 5 01:05 06:05 D72715 Perth Kuala Lumpur 7 16:05 21:05 1-Monday, 2-Tuesday, 3-Wednesday, 4-Thursday, 5-Friday, 6-Saturday, 7-Sunday http://www.airasia.com/nl/nl080515-en.htm
  2. If only TF made Ms Jolie wear the red cap.. hahahhaa..
  3. Look at this in http://www.thewest.com.au The whole space for ads just for Airasia alone. They are really determine to make it work. Prepare for heavy loads in the website tonight. Australian internet penetration is pretty high, believe me. PAY PEANUTS, GET MALAYSIA!
  4. Interesting to see the latest technology as talked in this article : and these with 3-3-3 configuration... http://www.just4airlines.com/j4_dox/email/...?story_id=35323
  5. more news coming.... http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?Men...ContentID=73237 Just one question, what about Melbourne??????
  6. More on this... http://www.theedgedaily.com/cms/content.js...276a00-88d2dc80 Anyway, would see if I could join the get together PER.. from Melbourne... I think KUL-PER will be via AirAsia X (A330) as it is more than 4 hours. Interesting to see that it is not destination() but destinationS in the news excerpt above.
  7. Look at AirAsia Australia website... There is Perth in the booking engine. Are they going to announce the PERTH flight soon? The outgoing is to KUL. Where is the promised Melbourne flight???
  8. The fight for a sub-zero fare is on! But the RM5 off is actually negligible as one needs to pay RM3 (prepaid) or RM5 (pay at airport) for one luggage. MAS still wins one more point.
  9. The link above take us to the availability box for each destinations. However the box was labelled as Feb, Mar, Apr, May. My only question is WHICH YEAR? Dont tell me this promotion is for Feb-May NEXT YEAR!!!
  10. Another view of a blogger that I do agree completely. http://www.discussonbrand.com/?p=45 Will we see the premium MW airline in the making??? hehe
  11. Tony Fernandes hits out BIG TIME!!! [/size] I agree to most of what Tony said, especially that SQ and even TG may actually benefits as many premium paying passengers will jump into them. Am not too sure whether Tony is asking a bit too much, but certainly AK is stand to lose in this price war. To counter the losing market segment, I understand Tony's view to increase their destinations, especially to Singapore. Again, a question remains, has any other airline trying to counter local LCC by being a 'hybrid' airline? I seriously doubt this would work.
  12. You quoted KUL-OOL 898.00 MYR, are you sure that includes tax? If it is, then whether it is one way/return. You can't get that cheap for two-way inclusive tax fare. Can't find it even with the current RM199 sale, which will turn out around 1000 MYR.
  13. Wonder why the campaign is so big this time. Because this is the very core of Five-Star Valued Service Carrier (FSVSC) , that is to be turn into a somewhat a "hybrid" airline. The airline will still be full-frill but will allocate a low cost market (max 30% of passengers) in their flights. Hence, this low fare will be a permanent feature (maybe the RM0 fare will not be permanent, but it will mirror AK fare), and there will be a flexi-fare which will be the normal premium fare we have now, plus the business class fare. Hence, a maximum of 30% will gain accessed to the full frill ala MAS and to keep it profitable, 70% of customers will subsidise the 30% low fare paying customers. Furthermore, the service offerings will be reduced (or has been reduced, in terms of number of crew, snackbox, closing of sales office, etc) to reduce the cost further. Yes it is a win situation to the low cost segment of the pie, as now they can fly a full frill service with low fares, but what about those paying premium in accepting those masses. Not to say that low paying customers are different, but their attitude is different compared to those who normally fly full frill. (I am sure most of you have realised what I mean by these differences). Furthermore, those paying normal fares have to suffer having lower than normal services in expense of the 30% of low paying segments, and hence these customers may jump their wagon to other airlines. At the end we may end up having 30% paying low fares, while only maybe 30% who are willing to stay loyal with MAS, while 30% resorting to other full-frill airline serving superior quality for the same price. A lost of 30% of premium paying passengers will be a big lost to MAS ok? Thats my analysis. Its good for a short term measure to fill up the gap, but for a long time measure, how would MAS suffer with premium paying passengers jumping on their wagon??? Is this hybrid pricing will work? It remains to be seen. My 2 cents.
  14. Whos fault is this? the MAS ppl or the very lax customs at KLIA... I wonder... Another slap to MAHB??? (after the robbery)
  15. It seems that ur originating from OOL. Does that mean you have booked KUL-OOL with D7? D7 have another promotion of RM199 *excluding tax for your holiday period. You could be paying around AUD400 (around RM1200) if booked now. Or if you have booked before, then too bad... wait a minute..... Comes to think about it, Mohd Helmi's quote was cheaper than this. Helmi, are quoting the price when there was a RM169 sale, not the normal fares?
  16. I believe the codeshare and interline is good for MAS. we may see Firefly serving the domestic market for MAS while MAS concentrate with international markets (of course plus several business orientated domestic destination like PEN, BKI, KCH) I think its a good idea.
  17. Prepare to pay extra 40 AUD (RM120) for the connecting taxi to the station, as the station is not near the airport. Plus, add AUD 24.70 for the train tix (RM74). So TOTAL = RM1797
  18. It is in MTB. I think it is to catered the business people travelling to international destinations from MTB. Those people cant go to the domestic lounge and were too far to go to the golden lounge in sattelite terminal (have to take the train). So according to wikipedia, the destinations would be : (can't test its accuracy as it is wikipedia after all) Alor Star, Bandar Seri Begawan, Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi, Bintulu, Cebu, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City [MH 750 only], Jakarta, Johor Bahru, Kaohsiung [MH86 only], Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Kuching, Labuan, Langkawi, Manila [MH702 only], Medan, Miri, Penang, Phuket, Sandakan, Sibu, Singapore, Surabaya, Taipei-Taoyuan [MH68 only], Tawau, Tokyo-Narita [MH80 only], Yangon, Yogyakarta That's quite a destination. But I believe its quite wasteful to have the third terminal, its not like the Golden Lounge in the satellite is too far, it is still accessible. They could simply use the RM4 million to upgrade their product offering. But instead they "menganaktirikan" the economy class passengers. Now the product offering between business class/first class vs economy class is like langit dan bumi (like heavens and earth). Sigh
  19. Tiger is offering 25 SG dollars for SIN-KUL route. Thats RM60 one way! Even AirAsia free tix is RM110! No one can beat that ! Way to go to competition. Hopefully it shakes AirAsia a bit.
  20. I think its fair to charge the passengers some fees (as part of airport tax) even though they are no using it. Its like charging operating fees for FOOD GARDEN even though not all passengers eat there, and it should be part of the operating fees in the airport tax. Without these fees, the facilities wont exist. Though the high amount may be arguable. What is not right is, charging the fees to LCCT passengers, it is because it is very inconvenient for the LCCT passengers to take it, so the airport should NOT charge them these fees. my 2 sen
  21. Apparently they changed their mind... They silently decide to axe gatwick even before it flies... According to Airpearl in A.net:
  22. It was announced 2 weeks ago... http://www.bangkokpost.com/120408_Business...r2008_biz38.php
  23. An example here is Melbourne-Singapore flight via Darwin with JQ. In Darwin, you need to get your luggage, recheckin, do the immigration in there, and fly to Singapore, this will be the same if you are flying to europe when there is a stopover involve, then you need to do all the checking in process. Don't get confused with its parent company, QF which is a full frill airline offering a full frill service.
  24. The problem with any vietnamese airport as a Jetstar hub is, as noted by one of the A.net member, most people transiting to go to Europe/Australia may need to pay a visa from USD50-80 even for a couple of hours transit. Jetstar doesnt tag their luggage all the way to the intended final destination. So you have to go to the immigration (and pay for Visa), check in and then get into immigration again. This may be a turn off to passengers who have to fork out more for a couple of hours transit (if they dont intend to stay in vietnam) Only those from ASEAN and a few other countries can travel to vietnam without a visa. In contrast, other airports (BKK, KUL, SIN) do not require visa for most of the foreigners, or certainly more than vietnam. For example, KUL and Sin do not require visa to those from ASEAN and those from commonwealth countries - which include UK and Australia. So it presents less problem to transit. BKK I think enjoy similar rule. (Someone correct me if I am wrong) Unless the government relax a bit on the rule or Jetstar tag the bags to the final destinations, then this will be an obstacle for them in choosing SGN as their longhaul hub.
