  1. I think its an attempt to make sure SZB will never be used again to replace KLIA. my 2 cents
  2. It has been added by someone just recently, so I have reverted his/her edit as the information is wrong.
  3. I guess we will definitely not gonna see MAS in any alliance with this attitude! http://www.theedgedaily.com/cms/content.js...999a00-e546f1c6
  4. Don't think they will give cheap tix, i guess MASwings is not created to sell tickets cheaply, but there maybe sales though.
  5. MASwings flights can finally be booked online, with a better booking interface. Definitely with the inclusion of online booking, it is easier for ppl to plan their holidays. http://www.dailyexpress.com.my/news.cfm?NewsID=54641 [/color]
  6. For KLIA to become as big (or nearly busier), it needs to attract airlines to set up KLIA as a hub. As of now, only MAS, AK, and D7 made the airport as their hub. KLIA management needs to attract new airlines and for already established airlines to switch their hubs from SIN/BKK/HKG into KUL. Currently, Jetstar Airways and Jet Airways do express interest to choose a hub within SEA (KUL, BKK, SIN, SGN). No words yet on their final say, but I must say, KLIA has not done enough to help attract them or switch them into KUL. Between these two, it is a very low chance they'll choose KUL: Jetstar may not choose KUL as that would mean competing directly against D7. (Jetstar/Qantas hates competitors).. So they are most likely going to choose SGN as their partner, pacific airlines's hub which is in SGN Jet Airways may choose SIN as currently they have more frequency into SIN. But we'll never know. Do I miss anymore? Yes, many middle-eastern airlines fly to Malaysia, they may be good contenders in terms of making KUL as a hub. As for other airlines who chose SIN/BKK over KUL, they are very comfortable where they are and have never shown any sign in changing their ground. It needs this to happen before KUL can become a hub. From the look at our state currently, it may never happen. Sigh.

    Air Asia X

so now the ICAO code is XAX, not XFA??
  8. Do you go check airasia website and try the search function? it is not only between those dates, but apparently from 4 jan onwards, there are no seats available. That only means one thing, the route is discontinued, maybe the route cannot make profit.
  9. AirAsia quoted to say "RM150 one way inclusive of tax" in this news - http://www.todayonline.com/articles/223821.asp Remember, that both Tiger and AirAsia only allow 15 kg of luggage, while Jetstar allows 20 kg. There is advantage there for Jetstar. Then again, AirAsia with 2 flights a day means there will be more cheap seats for AirAsia compared to both airlines.
  10. where is the new LCCT?
  11. It's all come to price as well. I can see that Jetstar and Tiger in SIN are not quite comparable. Tiger tends to pay less tax than Jetstar as Jetstar uses T1 while Tiger uses the Budget Terminal. Similar to Thai AirAsia as they also use T1. If Tiger uses the budget terminals in Malaysia and Singapore, AirAsia uses LCCT and T1 in SIN, while Jetstar uses premium terminals in both countries, this is the order the price will likely be: MOST PRICIEST: 1. Jetstar 2. AirAsia 3. Tiger Airways Of course, they will always want to compete but airport tax can be quite significant especially considering this is a very short flight. However, AirAsia will have an added benefit as it offers 2 flights as opposed to 1 flight each by Jetstar and Tiger. This will be interesting to watch this 3-prong budget competition.
  12. My hunch is, Tiger will use LCCT while Jetstar will use the Satellite terminal. Jetstar in KL and Singapore both use the main terminal, so there is no reason why they should move to LCCT. Not sure about AirAsia in SIN though, as the current Thai AirAsia uses T1.
  13. Oh sorry for that.. I was just being sarcastic and not in anyway try to offend you k. No offend yah. . I hope your grandma is okay now. Well, I guess at least you flew. If it were only MAS flying, then you wont be flying on that day at all because according to you it was fully book.. The main thing is, the situation is totally different when you pay at last minute. The "you get what you pay" concept doesnt apply here.
  14. Sapa suruh hang pi beli tiket lambat sangat dah tau tiket AK naik last minit? "Why do you buy your tickets when you know they price will increase at the last minute?" That's how LCC works, buy late, get the price equivalence of a full frill airline.
  15. Not necessarily, the bottomline is, how much AK is willing to offer at the end. I would call this an unbundling of services, and just another way to lower down their promotional base fare. I remember 5-6 years ago, AirAsia advertise the lowest bare fare for AK on the route of RM29.90. With that, plus RM15 (tax and surcharge at that time was rather low)=45. Now, the lowest bare fare on the same route amounts RM9.90, plus RM42 tax= RM52. Not much different even though world fuel price has increased significantly. So we'll see how much AK willing to lower down its bare fare in liew of the baggage fee. No matter what, because a low cost carrier targets the price sensitive customers, lowest fares will be its main target to succeed. So the LCCs will try to lower down their fares to compete with other LCC. at the end, customers win.
  16. They have done it on AirAsia X, i guess it is only natural to extend it into AirAsia flights.
  17. Agreed. Malaysian government does not have a proper package that is neat and accessible for tourists. MM2H is always targetted to older gen. What about those who are in transit? Just in comparison with our neighbour. When in transit at Changi, you can take the brochures on what to do if we are in transit for 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, overnight, etc., this will make the transit more enjoyable. It's tourism website is also superb. My friend recently complained that our tourism malaysia website is full of glitz and blitz but offer no visible good packages (1 day package etc) in it. She compared to the Uniquely singapore website which offer packages right down to prices and choices of what to do for a 1 day, 2 day, etc trip. It is also highly customisable. Oh, don't get me started with other tourism website such as the HK ...even better~ See, many times the government has done the right things, but never done things right. Pity pity... Sorry OT .
  18. Wah, I dont know they become so strict on hand luggage. Last year, when I ride with them, they never weigh my hand luggage. So I assume as long as the size is right, they ar ok with it. Damn, I thought of overstaffing my hand luggage with stuff. When do they strictly implement this? Or was I just lucky last time?
  19. Oh no. looks like worse than a bus terminal. I think LCCT is in its full capacity already. Really chaotic. I thought expansion is underway, if they can build this building in 10 months, I'm sure the expansion should take less then that. Really shameful lah.
  20. Damn, that pix of Airpearl was taken in an angle below the central overhead compartment. Silly me.
  21. Thank you for the respond. Good that you enjoyed your first ever airasia flight. I am so excited after getting your respond and also from AirPearl from A.net. However, I'm just wondering, u mentioned: But from the AirPearl uploaded photos on the net. It seemed to me the first economy compartment does not have the central overhead compartment. Im sure it wont be a problem as it can fit everyone's luggage when the load is 90% like in your flight, right? From http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_...ad.main/112682/ By Airpearl. No central overhead compartment. Anyway, my worries are all gone now. I think I will enjoy the flight. cant wait to go back to Malaysia. Yay. ps: just wondering how to entertain myself since there is no IFE.
  22. the news is so cocky lah. they dont realise that SQ won First Class award, which sounds even better.
  23. While our AK is expanding, the "other" LCC is aggresive also... http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7009058288
